My DIL who is an elementary school teacher here in Maryland just got news that a student she taught in 2019-2020 (1st grade at the time) died in the plane crash. Her name was Angela Yang. RIP. edit she was a skater. Another 12 year old skater from near my area also died.
And a group of guys who had gone on a hunting trip from here in Southern Md area, all five died in the crash.

Senator Chris Koons announced that 3 young skaters from the Delaware area plus the coach perished.

These plane crashes have been so tragic. Boston skating club lost several people in the crash in DC. The medical flight that went down in Phillie was so sad. It just seems like alot of stuff going on lately.

Good morning. It is 29 here with icy roads due to freezing drizzle overnight. This winter seems to be an icy one as opposed to alot of snow so far. February can be a snowy month so who knows what the weather will be. Today is the 50th anniversary of my first date with Chris. He was the only guy I went out on a second date with and the rest is history. I am just trying to keep busy today and will honor the day with a nice dinner , a small box of chocolates as we used to get the small heart boxes of chocolates for each other, and I bought some nice flowers the other day. We always celebrated with a nice dinner out and flowers in addition to the chocolates. It is a funky kind of day for me. Tomorrow is the Dogman movie with everyone so something to look forward to.

Have a good Saturday.

Good morning.

These plane crashes are so sad. I keep seeing reels on FB about the young skaters. They had an interview with the Angela Yang that Judique mentioned. She said she hoped to be in the Olympics in 2032. So very tragic for everyone involved. I just now read about the medical flight that crashed in PA. :( Prayers for all involved.

Have a good day Quacker family

Good morning everyone. Got chilly here again with the rain we had yesterday but at least the snow and salt are gone.

That plane crash yesterday was scary on a personal level. The plane took off from the airport blocks from my house. It crashed 4 blocks from my parent's and brother's houses at the mall I used to hang out with my friends on Friday nights. The area is always very busy with the mall traffic and the two streets are major N/S and S/E roads. I actually drove by that area earlier in the day coming home from picking Ella up after school. I watch planes land and take off from the airfield all the time. It's a weird feeling to be driving and seeing a plane come in over the roof of your car to land. My parents heard and felt the explosion but had no idea what had happened until I called them. Thankfully they were OK as was my brother who lives right by my parents. My daughter just told me a friend of my grandson's father was there and hit by debris.

Thankfully I have something positive to look forward to today. LJ's birthday party is this afternoon. Tomorrow I am picking up the small patio set I got from Boscov's for the lower deck. It was on clearance and I got it for $215, originally $1500. It has a built in firepit/grill. My granddaughter is looking forward to visiting for that. I think she is making my house party central.

And here is LJ. They stopped by on his birthday so I grabbed a picture, he is so much like his father and grandfather with the goofy smiles

Hope you all have a good weekend

Tazdev LJ is such a cutie. I hope he had a great birthday.

It is 6 degrees right now with temps heading to the mid 20s. We are expecting 1-2 inches of snow tonight. Yesterday I kept busy doing things around the condo and some errands. I went to Wegman's early and then CVS. I changed out the shower curtain and bath mat in the second bathroom. I went for brighter colors with a yellow shower curtain with white daisies outlined on it. I got a Winnie the Pooh bath math for a bit of whimsy. The bathroom is more bright and cheery. I got new bath mats for the master bath. They have big dahlias on them in colors of dark gray, gold, yellow, and tan. This bathroom has gray walls and a light gray tile floor with various shades of gray streaks. I have a mat at each sink and one for coming out of the shower stall. I also bought a new set of corelle ware with spring flowers. I am looking for changing things up a bit. My carpet cleaner came. It is still in the box but I hope to try to put it together soon. I will see how much of a challenge it is for me!

Have a good Sunday.

Hope you all have a good weekend

I wanted to click "love" for the pics and "hug" for the first part of your post, so I settled for replying.

Glad your family is OK.

Good morning. It is 27 and it snowed overnight. It looks like about 2 inches. Since they just came by to shovel my walkway it would have to be more than 1 1/2 inches. Thursday is supposed to be a wintry mix. I prefer snow. Since I went into the office last Thursday due to my boss being sick, I am not going in this week even to the company meeting tomorrow. It is not mandatory and they put it on the intranet so I can listen to it later as I work. The Dogman movie was interesting. It is not something I would have been interested in as a kid but I am glad the grandkids read the books and like it. We went to Shake Shack afterwards. It was a nice time with everyone.

Off to a busy day at work. Have a good day.

@Snowysmom and @PollyannaMom , I think this is the best.

On a happy note, we were able to CHANGE our stay at the Hampton Inn to February 23 at no Charge because of the postponement! We feel that was extremely nice!

Over the past few days, I have moved the amaryllis bulbs out of the attic, and they are almost all showing life. They are set up in our window…can’t wait to see flower stems!

Bobbiwoz Glad the new surgery date will work out better for you. I love the line up of the amaryllis bulbs.

Thinking of Mona and hoping she is getting better and stronger.

Good morning. It is 35 here now going into the 40s again. It was nice to have a sunny day in the low 40s yesterday. Thursday we are getting some snow, 4-5 inches is predicted. Then again Saturday night into Sunday we are supposed to get 5-7 inches of snow. At least Friday is clear as I have a doctor appt in my old area. It is only 45 minutes away. It is bad enough to have to drive during rush hour but adding snow to it would be worse. I also have doctor phobia so am trying to lessen stress and anxiety so my BP won't be through the roof. I have the day off so I am trying to think of something nice to do for myself. And I should be able to get to my hair appt OK on Saturday and then to Jeffs. My DS Jeff has read the medicare info from BCBS and he said his head is spinning. He deals with contracts as part of his job so he has alot of experience with legalese and complicated info. Massachusetts medicare supplement plans are different from the rest of the country, of course! We are going to talk on Saturday, write down questions, and I will call again to get answers. My MA friend has the same coverage I am looking into so I have talked with her and how it works for her. I feel like I understand most of it. I want answers on the dental coverage as the mid level plan info is confusing as what it really covers and I am not paying for the upper level plan. That one is not cost effective. I may just cobra my current plan for 18 months and then see how my expenses have been. I am tired of making decisions and just want some peace and quiet. Thanks for reading this. It helps to write it out.

Off to another busy day at work.

Have a good day.

Good morning @Snowysmom, hope you and Jeff figure it out!

I think of Mona often, and miss her here. Looking forward to hearing from her, and hoping it will be soon!🙏

I went out to feed the birds just now, and it’s 51° by my house. Looking at forecast we see rain a few times into next week, not snow. Maybe we in south Jersey have had our fill!

Good late morning everyone!

Off work today so it's a relaxing day. Later tonight I'm headed to watch Mia. Evan is now coaching so he has practice tonight.

Yesterday I cleaned the house real good and started some laundry before I headed to work at Kohl's. Yesterday was my first day off after a 4-day stint. Today I'm finishing the laundry and meal prepping for the rest of the week. I'm looking into using Factor meal delivery. Jacob and Livia have been getting it for a couple of weeks and they really like it. I think I need something like this since I don't like to cook, and it will help with coming home after working 12 hours and have a decent meal waiting.

Yesterday it was in the 60's! I felt so bad making the dogs come in when I had to head to Kohl's. They were enjoying laying outside in the sun.

Evan, Bailey, Mia, and Bailey's parents leave for Disney on Sunday. I'm so excited for them but nervous b/c they're flying. I've been getting things for Mia to keep her busy during the flight. I got a couple of Disney sticker books, some new books, a new coloring book, and one of those little magic drawing/erase boards. I thought she could take that little board to the parks with her to keep her occupied in the lines.

Have a great day!

Good morning! Thinking of you all and sending 🙏 and good vibes.

Took me a few days to recover from our trip and then I worked some shifts. Now can get back to reality.

Boys held out ok in kennel but didn’t love it. They each had a bath when we came home and SLEPT. I could see they were enjoying the quiet. Kennels are so loud!

Tile guy was here for a few hours over two days but hasn’t come back as his daughter was sick (and he works a FT job just doing this on the side). So almost done. Then just need the kitchen sink, garbage disposal and dishwasher hooked up, as well as a new faucet in the bathroom, and I think we’re done! Finally. So hopefully he comes back soon. I like him, but not sure he’ll be the right person for my own kitchen/living room floor project as it can’t take weeks or months, it’s the main part of our house. Too bad, but the not showing up part is hard, and he’s not great at communicating that, either.

I’ll post some more pics later, once it’s actually finished (and tools and such are put away) but here’s a shot DD took this morning. Very homey. She’s been able to cook a bit, get groceries, and sleep in her new bedroom, etc. Will just all be easier with a kitchen sink finished. 😬 She has a lot of Disney touches.

Have to run out to get my haircut, but wanted to stop by and check in on Bobbi and Mona. ❤️

Have a good Tuesday, everyone! 🐥

Pea Good to see you. Toto and Grady are handsome doggies. Glad your renovations are getting done even with a few delays.

Good morning. It is 14 here now with temps heading to the mid 20s. Tomorrow is supposed to be a snow day. My app says 3-5 inches of snow. I plan to get my errands done today after work. We had a condo meeting last night. It was the usual. At least the budget seems to be under control. If the HOA can get the money the builder owes the HOA it will help alot. They go to court this month. Yesterday I went to the gym and did some walking around here. I am working on lessening my stress and anxiety at work, home, and doctor's office. I do feel like I am making progress and do feel less stressed alot of the time. Meditation and deep breathing exercises help alot. I just want work to settle down a bit and then I can really feel less stressed. It has been crazy busy lately. My latest dilemma is whether to invest in a water softening system or not. We have well water and I have tested it with a kit. It is just over the line into the first level of hard water. The expense, the maintenance, and the sodium all make me concerned. Plus people say after a shower they feel slimy. I use a brita pitcher for drinking and cooking water. Kenny doesn't think I need to do it. But I don't want my pipes to become narrowed by minerals either.

Have a good day.

Good morning everyone

Our thread seems to be dwindling day by day. :(

@Snowysmom I'm glad that you're feeling 'better' about yourself. Everything you're doing is helping, so don't stop!

@Pea-n-Me Your daughters apartment is coming along beautifully. I hope she's loving it!

There's an ice storm at home, I'm glad I'm not there, lol

Have a good day everyone
