Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good Monday morning. Going to be sunny and 83 here, my last day in CO. It's been fun, and I've enjoyed seeing another state, but I'm more than ready to get to paradise.

We were going to do laundry yesterday, but her dryer decided not to work. Her husband tried a new heating element and a new thermal fuse, but still nothing. He went to Lowes and bought another dryer, got it all hooked up, and it works, but doesn't heat at all. So it's back to Lowes this morning to exchange it so we can do laundry and finish packing. It's always something. Friday it was their central air. He had a friend come to look at it and it turned out to be a bad circuit breaker.
Everything at home is good, except I apparently have a nest of yellow jackets somewhere under the back of the new shed. Summer almost got stung several times before she realized they were there. If they're under it, there's not much way to get rid of it since their nest is underground. I'll just have to avoid that area until it's cold enough for them to die off. She was going to try spraying bee killer last night, but I haven't talked to her yet this morning to find out if she did.

Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon. Weather here is very pleasant with low humidity and temps in the 80's.

I am trying to get motivated to start packing as I have a few things on the agenda this week. My granddaughter's birthday is Thursday so we are heading down the shore for the day. We will probably spend a little time on the beach just to get our feet in the ocean and look for shells. Then a walk on the boardwalk and a final stop at our favorite fudge place. I love the chocolate covered bacon and chocolate covered strawberries. I only get a small amount of each plus a half pound of fudge as I find we forget to eat the entire pound.

Friday I may be going to lunch with the kids and their great grandmother, or it will be in late September. Ella goes back to school on August 26th, so she won't be able to go until late September if we don't do it Friday. There is also the possibility she will refuse to go. She is still very hurt and angry over an incident almost 2 years ago when their great grandmother, urged on by her lowlife grandparents, decided to disown the kids. I am trying to get her to forgive her GG as she is not overly intelligent and an easily manipulated person, although she really is usually very sweet. Now that her husband is no longer alive to intervene, she gets swayed by her son and DIL, the other grandparents. The kids have a new name for them that isn't exactly DIS appropriate and I can't fault them for it. Their grandparents haven't seen them in 8 years, even though they very easily could have, but demean my grandkids every chance they get.

Jim has preadmission testing AGAIN. I balked at taking him. This will be the 3rd time in 4 months he has had to go to the same hospital, for the SAME tests. His cardiologist says it isn't necessary, but the hospital insists. Honestly they called for the med list, I don't understand the necessity for the same 10 minute testing. It's an hour drive on a good day to get to the hospital.

My dad was taken fire rescue to the ER again late last night which had me worried for his health, but also worried about if I would have to cancel the trip and lose all that money. I would have felt guilty going if it was something serious. Thankfully the issue is a pulled muscle in his leg and hopefully PT can help with that. He also has a mild kidney infection so antibiotics will help with that. My parents have been so fortunate that a man from church comes over to the house every time dad has an appointment to help get him out of the house, out of the car, and then comes back to help get him into the house.

I hope you all are having a great day,

Good morning. Sitting at LAX waiting for our flight to Honolulu. Waving to you Mona, can you see me? lol

Soon we'll be in the land of pineapples, coconuts, and sitting on the beach having mai tai's (virgin one for me), fulfilling a bucket list item for both of us.

he lā maikaʻi (have a lovely day!)

Aw I wish I could see you dear Lynn:hug:God willing next time you're out here we can meet. Meantime, continue to enjoy your trip!

Good later morning/afternoon hug to all. I enjoyed a nice rest earlier, dad did, too. Dad prayers appreciated this afternoon for an appointment he has. I'm looking forward to talking with Pastor Louise later. Waiting for an expected Amazon package. Otherwise all quiet around here. Love to all. I'll come back later :)

Page 2 is never allowed! Dad thanks to God had an easy appointment this afternoon. He has a more involved (unrelated) visit tomorrow morning. Extra prayers always appreciated. Thank you dear Quacker family. Sweet dreams.

Aloha kakahiaka (Good morning)

It's so beautiful here, I'm never going to want to leave. We've been lucky and had no travel delays at all. Got settled in our hotel and then hit the beach for a little while yesterday. Trying to get used to the time change. We're going to the Dole Pineapple Plantation today, and then wander around Oahu for awhile.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Haven't been posting much because it's been pretty boring over here, but things are fine. Working on some declutterring projects (should be more ruthless, but at least I'm making a dent), taking the cats out a lot, and binge-re-watching Call the Midwife.

Went out to dinner with my in-laws Monday, and had a nice text chat with my college roommate yesterday.

Hug dear PollyannaMom. What matters is that you're ok!

Good early morning everyone with love. I'm going to try and move more today in between napping. I really pray to move forward. Thank you all always for your love and prayers. Dad will be going to Target this morning, what a blessing it will be to one day be able to go with him again. I know in God's time that will happen. I am sincerely so blessed in all. I will check back in later :)

Good morning, we are home, and the flight back was wonderful, no delays, and pretty smooth. I’ve just been catching up with homecoming things. Today we have podiatrist appointments, thank heavens, my feet need some love.

Gus is home, and in good spirits, and the pond is in good shape. A water Lily should open today, so maybe I’ll have a picture to post.

My cousins enjoyed using our house while we were away. They left us a very generous gift card, and who could have guessed? It was a Disney gift card!

Cousin Sandy sent this picture…we will be dealing with this guest!

Good morning. It's going to be another amazing day here in Oahu. We're taking a tour today. (6 hours, yikes!) We'll be starting with a hike up Diamond Head, and then a trip to the other end of the island to see the North Shore, Turtle Bay, Kahuku Sugar Mill, and lunch. I'm sure we're going to be exhausted by tonight, but everyone we've talked to has recommended it .

We had our first malasada's yesterday, omg, so yummy! I'm having the best time ever!

Hope everyone is well.

Have a great day

OMG!! No raccoons in my yard but we have a gopher! He does his best to get the birdseed but seems to mostly end up with what is on the ground. The squirrels are more successful.

Granddaughters were here and the oldest called me and said, 'there's a beaver on the deck!' She was sitting in front of my LR window that looks out on my yard and has a sort of sideways view of the deck.

I immediately guessed it must be the gopher and looked out. He/she was busy scurrying away. A beaver would also not be unheard of because there's a pond not far where they live.

We've had them in the neighborhood since I've lived here but mostly they stayed way in the back living under sheds, etc. When one neighbor evicts them, they move to the next house. Usually they are far enough away (over 200 feet) that I don't pay much attention, but up on my deck is getting bold.

Real peaceful looking dear Bobbi, thanks for sharing with us :)

Hug, Judique, good to see you, my friend. Please be careful of gophers or beavers!

Target savings reminder is that through Saturday Target is offering a $15 Target Store Gift Card when you spend $50 on Household Supplies. This includes the Antibacterial Hand Wipes dad, and I use so many of. It also includes paper goods. For us this is a lot of money to spend at once, but it is a good deal since as I said we go through the wipes quickly and allows us to save while stocking up on extra household items, too. Trying always to save each of dear you money :)

To dear Kirby and I believe Footballmouse too, Ralphs (Kroger I believe for both of you) has a dozen eggs through Tuesday with a digital coupon for $3.99.

Good morning.

Waiting to check on for my flight tomorrow. I had a bit of a scare there because it said my flights changed. Called the airlines and it was because my original booked flights have been changed twice. Not a stressor I needed today.

We were heading down the Jersey shore yesterday to celebrate Crystal's 20th Birthday but had to turn around and head home. She started sobbing in severe pain from cramps and of course I had no Tylenol in the car. Found a store so while she used the restroom my daughter got some Tylenol and I think Midol, not something I'm familiar with. Not to be to gross but she was bleeding heavily which shouldn't happen as she is on something to stop her periods. Raced back home using the expressway rather than my backroads and my daughter took her to the ER. She had a ruptured cyst. Thankfully it was resolving and didn't need to have surgery as can sometimes happen. I felt so guilty because at first I thought she was overreacting. She can be overly emotional at times. I'm just thankful she is OK.

We leave tomorrow and except for toiletries and a few other things I needed to wait on I am actually packed. I never pack this early. I will try and pop in now and again with updates or a picture or two, but it will depend on the Wi-Fi access on the ship. I do have it as part of our package, but it can be spotty.

Hope you all have a great week.
