Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. I too turned the ac off yesterday morning. But by dinnertime it was so hot out I had to turn it back on. Going to be 90 today. It's nice out now, but they are predicting a chance of bad storms by afternoon. I got everything done outside that needed to be done, stripped the bed and washed the sheets and a blanket and have them hanging on the line so they can dry before it rains. Now I'm moving on to the guest room after Idust, vacuum and clean the bathrooms.

This whole family is so strange I can't figure it out. Yesterday the sister in law who's throwing the party texted, asked if I could make something for the party? Why would I make something if I'm not going? She said everyone loves my potato salad, would I mind making some, that my other sister in law could pick it up and bring it. I have company coming and I don't have time to make a dish for something I'm not even attending. Just plain weird! But yeah, that's the kind of family I married in to, lol!

Have a nice day.

Good morning. It is 73 here now and very humid out. I just got back from my first walk of the day. Breakfast with Kenny and kids yesterday was nice. Then we took the dog for a walk. I went to Kohls to return the too big shirt. I got 2 new shirts that look nice with my new long skirt that I got in the mail yesterday. The outfits will be nice for the specialty dinners on the cruise. Today Jeff invited me to a movie with the family. I have to go back to the town where Chris and I spent our life together. I avoid the town when in the area so not sure how this will go. I will focus on being the the grandkids. At least the part of town we will be in is on the other side of town from where we spent our time together. I do need to deal with it so may as well try. We are expecting thunderstorms later in the day, possibly severe.

Have a good Sunday.

Good morning. We finally had a nice steady rain overnight. Rain + morning heat=steambath outside, but we needed the rain. It's going to be in the 90's again today. Only 78 tomorrow. Then back to the heat and storms for Thursday and Friday.

Nothing new going on around here. Picked another zucchini and had it with dinner last night. Off to do some more cleaning. I'm done with the guest room and guest bath, going to work on the master bath today

@Snowysmom :grouphug:

Have a nice day everyone

Good morning. 64 here right now with temps heading into the upper 70s. The movie was fun yesterday. I was able to get back to "our" town and go to the movie theater. The theater has changed so much it was like going to a new one. We saw Inside Out 2. It was a cute movie. The kids did well. Sam wandered around in the row a bit watching the movie from between the seats. The theater had the big comfy seats with a wide row aisle. In the movie one of the characters is anxiety. And boy, did they really get the character right. It was a nice time.

Off to work. It is close week which is busy and we have Thurs and Fri off. Have a good day.

July Joy with love to all. I just posted this acts of kindness movie recommendation in the gratitude thread and want to share with my dear Quacker family. Redeem Tv (completely free) has a movie called A Promise to Astrid that is based on a true story of the same name written by Michael Tourville. I think each of you would enjoy the movie. I sure thank each of you always for you and all the love, faith, kindness, and fun you spread to so many including me. PM me should you watch the movie or share your thoughts right here in our lovely thread. I would enjoy reading them :)

Dad and I are extra grateful that at the moment the remote to (no battery, the chair is plugged into the wall) my Golden recliner lift chair is working. Later yesterday it was sporadic. The company we ended up purchasing the chair ftom as some of you may remember went out of business. We will be calling a still in business (I hope) in our area medical supply rental store to get their thoughts. A challenge is on our original receipt a model # or chair name was never written down. On that day, a few days after my horribly long ER visit, dad and I were just grateful for the chair. Reminder to always know exactly what you are renting or buying. Update to God willing come later.

Have a great day friends.

Good morning and welcome to a beautiful weather day. Sunshine, nice breeze, temps mid 70's. Went to the mid 50's last night, perfect for sleeping. The windows are open and the cats are enjoying the respite from having the ac on.

I already went out and mowed (first time in an entire week, lol) and trimmed the weeds. Cleaned everything off and checked the garden. All my outside chores are done for the week except watering. Making my grocery list so I can get shopping done tomorrow before my friend gets here on Wednesday.

Still fielding and ignoring calls and messages from people asking me why I'm not going. I'm over it.
Going to put a load of laundry in and clean out fridge, then make a grocery list We'll eat out for a few meals, but planning on grilling and eating here the rest of the time

Have a great Monday

Lynn I hope you have a nice time with your friend.

Good morning. It is 57 now with temps heading into the 80s. Yesterday I went to the lake to walk. I stopped for a bit and just watched the birds and butterflies. It was very peaceful. I came back and made supper for the next 3 nights. It will be easy to just heat up the chicken one night and the quesadilla the other nights. I found a recipe for a noodle, broccoli, and chicken casserole that I may make over the long weekend. Always looking for something tasty and fairly healthy.

Have a good day.

Good morning. Going to be nice again today, only mid 80's instead of the 90's they first predicted. Yesterday was perfect, I could take that weather every day all year, lol.

House is as clean as it's going to get, so I don't have to do any of that today. Heading for the market shortly. Have to pick up some snack foods and some of my friends favorites. I'm getting excited, and so looking forward to it. My SIL was here last night to drop off the soda she picked up when she was in Krogers last week. They had all brands of soda on sale b2g3 free, which made it $4 a 12 pack instead of the $9.99 it usually is. This is my supply for the summer, lol

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning.

It was so nice outside yesterday. I didn't turn the AC off yesterday because I knew it would go right back on today since it's going to be in the 90's. I'll go out and water the flowers in a little bit.

Working from home today. Most people in the office are still on vacation so I'm not that busy. I have the rest of the week off, just from 1 job though, so I'm really only off tomorrow. I have Mia all day tomorrow. I need to put her slide together, she loves to play on the slide. I'll probably set the pool up and fill that too. I don't want the water to be freezing tomorrow.

Yesterday I made some teryaki salmon and seasoned green beans. Holy moly, that salmon had a kick to it. Not sure if I can eat the other piece today. The green beans on the other hand, so good!

My freeloader renter cat that I took in, Tiana, is really making herself at home. Completely different from the other freeloader, Remy. Remy is scared of everything (including other cats) so she only goes from her room to the couch, but when another cat jumps up on the couch she runs to her room. Tiana, all over the house, plays with the other cats, and follows me around everywhere.

Have a great day!

Shopping and errands done. Aldi's was empty, Walmart wasn't. Eggs are going sky high again. I paid $1.88 for jumbo 2 weeks ago, today they're $3.46, and Eggland was almost $5..

Starting to get warm outside, so I closed up and turned the ac on as soon as I walked in

This was flying over the house as we pulled in. It's a golden eagle, I've never seen one before.

Good morning, dear friends and happy Tuesday. I never did post this at my usual time so here I am by the grace of God now. Dad and I have had an eventful morning. God is forever with and for us in ALL ways. The recliner lift chair we have has been out of whack. Sometimes it is completely unresponsive to the remote while at other times it works just fine. The remote can also result in the chair not fully doing what I ask the remote to. For example not going completely down or working for a moment before going out. The other odd issue with it, is sometimes the remote does the opposite of what it is supposed to do! For example, pressing, "sit," which means the recliner should be like a regular chair, results in it instead reclining:scared1:In other words, there is definitely a problem with the chair! Dad, with help from a kind salesman named Kevin from a medical supply store out of our immediate area, was able to locate the tag with the model and serial numbers last night. Kevin apologized when he shared based on the information he determined our chair is from 2016. His company only has parts for chairs that were made within the last 5 years. Grace of God, I did find another company that will make a service call tomorrow. For us the fee for this call is a ton of money. However to find out whether the chair can be fixed is a necessity. We will get a call tomorrow morning with a 3 hour window of when the technician will come.

I have a 4-shelf cart on wheels whose third shelf lines up perfectly with the properly reclined chair. I realized this soon after the chair issues began. Now, whenever I am trying to sleep, and the chair is reclined, I have my phone on that shelf so I can reach it. God's Mercy and Presence is forever, His Care. Dad was at the laundromat earlier while I was sleeping. I woke up less than ten minutes before he came home. When I awoke, I needed the bathroom. One problem. You got it. The remote was completely unresponsive and I was, of course, reclined all the way. God had dad come home just in time and more than that He gave me the strength to get upright on the chair and scoot forward. Dad helped me at the end. I was able to normally use the walker to get to the restroom. Praise extra to God! Dad was able to finally get the chair to cooperate into a regular seated position that it is now. We will go from there later. This afternoon, we will be looking up recliner/lift chairs to get an idea of cost. Renting one is astronomical! Buying one obviously is very expensive too but in the long run might be cheaper. We will know more tomorrow. Chair prayers appreciated. Thank you all for listening to all this.

Hugs and good afternoon hugs to all.

Good afternoon.

Weather has been pleasant here the last few days. It's warm but not really humid although my head has been pounding so the pollen counts must be up. Anthony has been doing OK and even managed a shower today. Jay and I met at Home Depot and ordered everything for the fence in the back yard. He is finally getting some of the work done. The decking of the yard will be next and then finally the deck off of the living room. I'm happy. I'm going to pay his brother to weed and till the front area so we can put paving bricks down. I am so tired of trying to get rid of the weeds.

The church picnic got rained out sort of on Sunday. We just held it in the church hall and the burgers were done in the ovens instead of on a grill. Not as good as grilled but it was a fun time. We even managed to get dad there which was so nice because everyone was thrilled to see him, and all stopped to chat with him. Dad needed the fellowship of in person interactions.

I don't know if you all have followed the news about the hurricane in the Caribbean right now. LJ is in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic right now which is supposed to get some of the brunt of the weather. Thankfully my grandson and his wife called down and they said the weather right now is OK and they are a little further inland. Its still worrisome knowing he is there during this. My granddaughter in law said they have weathered hurricanes before and will take good care of him, but I know they are concerned too. Nothing I can do but be concerned but know that he is in good hands.

Hope you all have a good evening

Tazdev Glad your Dad could get out and see everyone at church. Glad Anthony is getting up and around.

Lynn Have a nice time with your friend.

Good morning. It is 57 here now with temps heading into the 80s. Yesterday I went to Market Basket got the rest of the stuff I needed. I went last week and did a fairly big trip for me but as usual, I forgot a few things. One of the mid level managers in our group at work just left the company on the first day of close. Really crazy! Not sure if it was his idea or not. But he was a good worker. Now it makes things more difficult for my boss and her boss. I offered to help where I could but I am not at that level of work. It makes me glad I am at my level and doing my daily work that I have been doing for years. Today I may go to the lake and walk along with my usual walks.

Have a good day.

Wednesday🐣💕to all. Grace of God, the chair did recline and I got a good couple of hours plus of sleep. Dad helped me some when I woke up and the remote was unresponsive. Positive is I have definitely gotten in a lot of extra physical therapy the last few days with more exercise and movement. Praying the chair can be fixed. God willing I will have an update later. Wishing each of dear you a happy day.
