Good afternoon.

Playing catch up again so prayers for all those who need them.

The tea went well and my raffle table and 50/50 raised $1,000. I was happy with that. I won a couple of things including the voucher for 2 tickets to Sight and Sound for Moses. I really wanted the Longwood Gardens passes but someone else won them. My grandson put $5 worth of chances in the Cabot Creamery Cheese gift box and was thrilled he won it. The boy LOVES Cheese.

After the tea we headed off to Lancaster for Ella's 14th Birthday dinner at Shady Maple. I told her no more dinners. I got sick last year after the dinner there and again this year. Then I woke up with severe vertigo. I literally was walking into walls I was so off balance so I had to skip church. Thankfully catching 4 more hours sleep helped quite a bit. It did mean I missed a meeting after church but I didn't really want to go to it. We are looking at having a daycare take over some space and I have serious concerns about it, but I have been outvoted. I am tired of the prayers for money every week. I know that churches need money to run but the constant prayers for it remind me of my old church. We opened a preschool there that split the church in half, Then the constant prayers for money and the stock market. That church folded and I can see the same thing happening here. That and the constant snide comments directed at me by our priest are wearing me down. He has issues with my going to DIsney. I don't think it's any of his business what I do with my money and time.

Today was the presurgical consult for my husband's upcoming eye surgery and I was not in the mood for the condescending attitude of the consultant. I understand that HE is having the surgery but I am the one who needs to take care of him and every question I asked was given an eyeroll look and fill in the blank answer. I have serious concerns because he is on blood thinners. My question was because she said there is a risk of bleeding. The answer was it's a bloodless surgery. So why is there a risk? She looked at me like I am an idiot. Seriously these people need to fix their attitudes when dealing with people.

I wish I could get the video of Ella and her 2 friends at the tea performing "This Christmas". She had me in tears from laughing but I was so proud of her. She has an outgoing personality and did such a great job with the song.

I am off to do some Christmas Shopping and spend my $25 rewards at Best Buy. Going to look for some movies that I'll never watch. I am horrible about that. I buy them and then forget about them. Hope you all have a great rest of your day.

QOTD: Do you ever forget random things? Let’s hear about a recent one!

Besides the above story, I forgot a hair appt in early October, and I felt really bad. I paid her anyway because I know that losing money is really hard for her.

I’ve also missed a dog grooming appt and also felt bad. Noticed (not just because of me, I’m sure) that there is a sign up there now about partial payment for missing appts. It must happen a lot!

I have gotten into a habit of putting all appointments in my phone. Otherwise I'd forget everything.

All the time, so I've taken to setting reminders in my phone! 📱

The most recent fail of that system was just a couple of weeks ago, when I missed a Zoom class because I was out of my routine and didn't hear my phone in the other room.

Mine all go off at 8am to give me time, unless it's supposed to happen before that. If so I set my phone alarm.

:grouphug:Taz, what an awful after dining experience. Please don't go back to that restaurant! 🙏for your husband's upcoming eye surgery. A condescending, unkind, attitude should absolutely NOT ever be how anyone, especially a prospective surgery patient, be treated! Happy Birthday to Ella and how grateful I am God gave the two of you one another. Thank you and your husband for making such a kind and loving difference to her. Feel better, my friend!

Dad is trying to nap at the moment. He did get his morning errands done. Coughing on and off since he's been home. 🙏He truly gets all well this week ahead!

Not much new here otherwise, all is quiet on the LA front. We are waiting for some expected packages. Wishing all of you a great rest of the day.

@flyingdumbo127 - I actually love the restaurant for breakfast. I don't know what the issue is for dinner except maybe my choice of foods are too greasy. I have always been sensitive to greasy or fatty foods. We all agreed we like breakfast better. Stress could have played into it also. I don't really like driving in places without a lot of streetlights at night. I made a couple of wrong turns because I didn't recognize my landmarks. I hope your dad is feeling better soon.

I will pass on the birthday wishes to Ella. She is the one I am taking to DIsney in June. We have decided on Sci Fi Dinner Theater for our only sit down meal as she wants Fried Pickles. I'm fine with the choice but I know she will laugh at the movie clips, and me since I used to have nightmares from the Sci Fi Movies of the late 50's and early 60's. My kids all thought they were comedies trhe year we ate there.

All quiet here and I am planning an early night. I have to be up early to get my little guys to school.

Have a nice evening everyone.

Good evening.

Got our COVID booster. Remembered to drink a lot.

After that we dropped off two dog crates to Sarah at her work then headed to the mall. Got all 4 things we wanted at Target then walked through the mall to see decorations. Other than Santa's place, decorations were pretty much non-existent. Ended up getting lunch at Cheesecake Factory. We rarely go there because of the wait at dinner. Brought home cheesecake. Just had dinner which was left over Campbells soup followed by cheesecake. I still couldn't finish it.

Also stopped at Lowes and Home Depot. I needed to get new shades for the upstairs bedrooms. And we looked at a gift for Justin.

Came home and ordered a few things online. Then worship committee zoom before dinner. Also got laundry done in-between everything. Now on the couch for NCIS and The Good Doctor.

Catch you later.

All of our packages came great Walmart and Target service. I also am thankful to have gotten some nice cards and dad got a magazine, as well. Dad has some coughing fits, mostly, upon first getting up from a nap. He definitely seems much better now. He just enjoyed some pizza he had gotten himself for dinner. I pray he sleeps well tonight and as he said further catches up on needed rest. Thank you all forever for all your loving care, prayers, and support to us both always.

:hug:I also am very food sensitive that way. Heavier foods also don't sit right with me. I've come to much better appreciate during the pandemic making my preferred very simple and basic meals at home rather than going out. Healthier minus the grease! I am glad you do enjoy Shady Maples breakfasts. You and Ellie will have a wonderful time next Summer with ::MickeyMo

Glad your 🛍️went well, Carol and that you got yourself a cheesecake treat, too! Dad enjoys cheesecake, too.

Sweet Dreams, friends with love.

@Snowysmom Happy birthday from me as well!:cake:

I’ve been uncomfortable and yesterday my urogynecologist called to say I did have a UTI from the colonoscopy. I had been to him the day after it and they had taken a sample. Hopping the antibiotics work quickly. I’ve been waking up 4-5 times a night!

Getting ready for a quick WDW trip. We leave on Friday, and the Candlelight Processional CD is making me looking forward to seeing that on Friday.

I do remember you all in my daily prayers.

Yes!

Have so much fun! I love WDW at Christmastime!! DH, DS, and I went in 2018. (I did not see the Candlelight Processional, as the boys really weren't interested, so I was outvoted - but you can never do everything in one trip anyway, and I enjoyed everything we did do.)

I do remember you all in my daily prayers.
Aww, thank you :goodvibes

We've been to Sassafras NWR. That nearby, isn't it.
It's actually the same place - my problem is that I've been swimming in Turners Creek and scrambling around the cliffs & beaches there since I was a little kid and the name sticks in my head!
We had good haircuts today;
I am getting one at lunchtime on Friday. Really need it, too!
QOTD: Do you ever forget random things? Let’s hear about a recent one!
I do. I'm a written calendar type person, and I carry it with me everywhere.
They live in an isolated part of WV for the most part, and noone seems to know who that cat belongs to. I swear, they aren't happy if they aren't at a Dr appt or the ER for something at least once a week
Maybe they should team up with my MIL (Greenspring, in-between Ft. Ashby & Paw Paw) who is a Queen Hypochondriac AND a cat hoarder...she swears people just drop them off at her house all the time....
Pictures.
Great photos of the kids & the trees!
We had a great trip
Glad to hear it, sometimes when you have a long drive just not having any road snafus makes the difference.
Today was the presurgical consult for my husband's upcoming eye surgery
Hope he makes out ok.

I need to do that as well. I am hoping to get a few chores like that done in the week between Christmas and New Years.
Happy Birthday, @Snowysmom!!
Happiest of Birthdays to you Snowy!! Have a wonderful, peaceful day.

Happy Tuesday to each of you. Just a quick stop by to say hi. I'm in a meeting at 8:30 & 9:30 and then I am on the road after that. Torpedo Heater safety and Kerosene quality … another riveting day in the Life of Me.

LOL Mine live in between Ridgeley and Romney, but way way back off the road,,even 911 can't find it easily. I just found out that they kept that cat. They have it in a training crate in their living room, says he's friendly now. They are keeping him caged until the get the rabies results from the health department, and have already made appts with a vet to get him checked and get him shots. This after telling me it looks like someone's pet, as it's clean and well fed. I give up!!!!

Good morning all. Raining lightly and 40 degrees. No clue why schools have a 2 hour delay for 'icing on roads', as the roads are pretty much dry lol.

@bobbiwoz --Feel better soon, and have a great trip to WDW!

No call from Dave about the floor yesterday, so I called him last night. Had to try 8x, as he uses Straight Talk, which around here runs on Verizon, they only have 1 tower around here, and their service stinks. He said half the time people have to just keep calling over and over till it finally connects and his phone rings. Anyhow..he's coming today, just not sure what time. He said it depends on if it rains or not, which makes no sense. If it's not raining he can cut outside, if it's raining he can cut in the cellar. So just waiting for the phone call.

No plans on my list today. Have a couple of Christmas cards to finish writing (the few that I put letters inside), and make a grocery list, but that's about it

Have a nice morning.

Good Tuesday morning! 🎄

Worked from home yesterday but since my boss was on vacation I was able to go visit with Mia in the morning. The little stinker just won't take a bottle for me. Yesterday she only took 10ml for me but the day before she took a whole 32ml for Evan. I think I must make her too comfortable during her feedings that she just wants to sleep. Maybe I shouldn't snuggle and rock her when she should be eating 😏. She's up to 4 lb, 11 oz. so she is definitely gaining weight, she just needs to get the whole bottle thing down.

Got my haircut yesterday after work. Stopped to check the prices for some luggage sets for a Xmas present for Jacob but then I ended up buying myself some bowls (no luggage) 🤦‍♀️. Stopped at Meijer to get some groceries. I said I wasn't going to shop there anymore because I think their prices are higher and their coupons aren't as good as Kroger's are but I did. I wanted to stop at TJ Maxx to get a coat for Mitchell's girlfriend but I was tired of stopping places for the St. Nick gifts, I just wanted to go home. The coat can wait until Friday. I work the next 2 weekends and going up by Mia after work each day limits my shopping time.

Breezy_Carol - OMG what beautiful dogs 💙!!!! I was trying to talk a friend of mine into getting one of those breeds but she decided on a French Bulldog. He's cute but I'm more of a big dog person.🐕

I was off this past weekend so I did some shopping and visited with Mia all weekend. I wanted to decorate the house on Sunday while I had the Bengals game on but Jacob didn't listen to my instructions for what boxes I needed out of the attic. Needless to say he only brought down the box with the stockings in it, no ornament boxes, no decorations. I said I didn't need anything for the outside and he brought down 2 outside decorations. Once again, my house still isn't decorated and probably won't be.😡

I meal prepped last night for my breakfast stuff for the week. Tonight I'll do my lunch stuff. For breakfast I made pumpkin overnight oats and for lunch I'm doing chicken fajita bowls. I need to get back to doing this because I'm spending too much money on fast food. Not getting home until 7:00 during the week, it's just too easy to swing by Chipotle or order a pizza on the way home.

Snowysmom - Happy Birthday! Please try to enjoy your day and maybe treat yourself to something nice!!!🎂

Everyone have a great day!

Anyhow..he's coming today, just not sure what time. He said it depends on if it rains or not, which makes no sense.
Usually for us it means we're on our guy's "rain list" - that he's got an outdoor project he has to do first if the weather is good, but we jump ahead of that one if it's raining because we have an indoor project.

Ugggh!! How frustrating.

Good morning, and Happy Birthday, Candy! :bday: I hope it is a decent day for you. It’s not raining (yet), so that’s good! I imagine you must’ve had some snowy birthdays over the years! :cold:

The Goldendoodles look very sweet. I’m sorry if I missed it, are they related? @Breezy_Carol We meet a lot of them in our travels. I worry the French Bulldogs will get stolen! (They seem to be in high demand right now.)

I had an appt this afternoon but I’m rescheduling it. I just wanted to sleep late today. I’ve had so many early days, Monday I was awake till 4am worrying about waking up early! Ugh. Everyone liked the dessert cups at our luncheon, and I was really impressed that just about everyone took the time to make homemade things.

@flyingdumbo127 Thank you for the nice thoughts. I am a little worried about Dad! :worried: And you. It’s hard to live with someone hacking like that and not get what they have, too. Stay well.

Pea. I’m so thankful it sounds like you had a good weekend, my friend. The blanket sounds adorable::MickeyMo. Will you post its picture for us please? God Bless your DD. I’m glad to hear she’s giving herself a break. Truly grateful extra to God for your loving family.
Happy to! I just love this little blanket, it makes me happy!

Tonight I am going to try making a “cabbage roll soup” that I saw in Instagram. I think we have most of the ingredients I am going to text DH to stop and pick up the few we don’t have. Will report later how it comes out. Something different, and I always loved cabbage rolls. This is the site if anyone wants to see it.

I keep seeing a ”lasagna soup” too, that looks good. Might try that soon, too. They are more like meals than soup, but I do love soup.

I hope everyone has a good day. Thinking about and 🙏🏻 for all in need. 🐥

Happy Tuesday everyone!

:grouphug:And a very Happy Birthday to you, Candy! The image is a way for me to send you both extra love and birthday flowers, too. Thinking of you, my friend!

Feel better dear Taz and have a wonderful and safe time at WDW! I absolutely pray to one day be able to get to Disneyland this time of year and as I have said view Candlelight as well. There definitely is something extra magical and special about seeing ::MickeyMoright now.

Your new blanket ::MickeyMo::MinnieMomakes me smile, too, Pea! Thank you for sharing and always for your extra prayers for my dad and me. Dad just called me from Ralph's. He should be home shortly from some quick 🛒 and doing :laundy: He wasn't coughing very much when I got up this morning, thank God. His cough always seems at its very worst when he gets up after a nap or when we are watching 📺after we both have taken our bedtime showers and are relaxing for the night. So far, I'm still just fine, a little chilly this morning in LA but it is colder this week out here. I did enjoy my small mug (less than 7 ounces) of hot chocolate this morning. Dad is not a tea person generally except when he's sick. He said he had some hot tea even before I got up. He also yesterday bought himself some hot apple cider mixes. I'll stick to my Kroger Brand hot chocolate from Ralph's.

PollyannaMom, I LOVE the::MickeyMo 🎈 you posted, so cheerful! They remind me of how I did get to hold a big bunch of balloons at Disneyland once on my birthday while my dad took my picture. That was fun. We’ll have to do that again sometime for any celebratory reason. I also once took a picture of dad on his birthday holding a stuffed animal Mickey that held a birthday cake in his hands. That was a fun way to capture an extra birthday memory without having to purchase the toy. Extra prayers you are able to join an eventual Quacker Candlelight viewing out here. That would mean so much to me to get to do with all of you.

Stay safe on the road:car:, Easyas. Dad and I also still write things down on both📅 and lists.

That poor 🐈, Lynn. How awful. I do love your Disney pictures, especially of the parade, too! I did so enjoy Disneyland's Christmas Fantasy Parade the couple times I got to see it.

Footballmouse, I would also prefer a golden retriever or golden doodle to a bulldog. I do thank your friend for giving a loving home to her pup and of course, you to your own dogs:dogdance:. Continuing Mia prayers🙏

Wishing all of you a good rest of the day. Stay warm and do something that brings you an extra smile today, too. I'll check back later.
