A friend of mine at work is headed to Disney in January :earsboy:, she was asking for my help with details. She couldn't decide on a character breakfast, deciding between Chef Mickey, Topolino's or Tusker House. I've only had Chef Mickey but heard good reviews on the other two, does anyone have experience at them?
The only one of those I've done is Tusker House (years ago) but we really liked it.

The toybox came out awesome!!

Good morning, it was another frosty morning here, but it will go to mid 60's. So many new posts this morning--maybe I should start checking in later than I usually do, lol! I don't feel like hitting quote on everything I want to comment on, so am just going to tag people and quote the lines I want to answer)

@Breezy_Carol --you said--So many home coming pictures on my facebook feed this weekend. Nice looking girls but dresses are so short now. (I must be getting old.)
It's not just you thinking you are getting old. The dresses are way too short and too tight. Logan (the one in the blue dress from my pic the other night) actually knew hers was too short. She was worried about sitting down and showing everything she has, so she wore spandex shorts under the dress. Gracie is a 'bigger girl', and had a decent length dress on.

@Pea-n-Me said---Definitely call the police if it happens again! (And maybe call them to let them know about it happening this time so they can keep an eye out for it!) Stay safe! I don’t care how nice looking they are! (Ted Bundy!)
We are past the city limit line, so we can only call 911. We get the State Police (which is in Lavale) and it would take them at least a good 15 minutes or so to get here. If I called I would get told that it wasn't an emergency (been there done that). I had to laugh at the 'Ted Bundy' addition to your post. But I will take a look on reddit and read some of those comments, thank you!

@flyingdumbo127 said--Dear Lynn, I think, this could be an extra reason for you to consider letting your police department know what happened last night.
See my reply to pea-n-me above

@Snowysmom said--I am praying that they get a cancellation or reschedule
I hope for your sake they get to you sooner, rather than later!

@Judique said-- Hello Fresh. I've always wanted to try it out
I keep saying we should try it, but haven't bit the bullet and tried it yet. Let us know how you like it please

@tazdev3225 said--Had a busy weekend. Late Thursday I had a call from my daughter who was in the ER with Ben. He was jumping on the top bunk bed and went face first into the ceiling fan. They were going to stitch his eyebrow, but Ben freaked out. She has to keep it glued together. He is a daredevil.
:( That is scary. Face first? Wow! I hope his eyebrow heals soon and he doesn't end up too too much of a scar. And that he's learned not to jump when he's on the top level of a bunkbed!
You also said-I cannot wait to go to Disney on Saturday.
You need the break, and I am glad you are doing something just for yourself!

I think I covered everything I wanted to. Today is going to be dusting and vaccuming since I haven't gotten around to it yet. I would rather do everything outside that needs to be done while the weather is still nice enough. So I spent yesterday afternoon doing that. Watched the Bucs game (thankfully they won, I don't think Brady could have taken 3 losses in a row). Packers played in London, and lost, so Don (Mr L) wasn't too happy.

Have a nice morning everyone!

Good morning.

Getting a grocery list made and some other things done this morning. Going to church at 1 for our Recent Reads group. First one since February 2020. This is where we all report on a book we have read, all different books, to get other peoples' ideas. Then to the grocery store.

Andrew, my baby, turns 34 today. We won't be seeing him today but will bake a cake and take it when we go down Thursday for overnight. I asked if he wanted one and he said, "Yes, it would be the only way he would get one."

@tazdev3225, Lucky you! post 20,000. I was on another thread years ago where is was a big deal to hit certain number posts.

@Snowysmom , so glad you have lunch reservations. You all will love it. Maybe if you have a big group, we had 8, you will get the little alcove room like we did.

She couldn't decide on a character breakfast, deciding between Chef Mickey, Topolino's or Tusker House.
We did Tusker House for lunch in August and it was great. We did breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table then too. DH wanted to take the grands there. Food and ambiance great but you only see Cinderella in the lobby.

After Dil goes back to work son is going to burn some more leave closer to Xmas.
Andrew is going to do the same. He saved some paternity leave because that can't be denied on a leave request.

@Judique and @lynxstch , we had Blue Apron for a while but eventually stopped went it got too fancy and involved. We liked it at the start when it was simpler.

Need to go iron communion linens. (A frustration of mine) Then lunch and out of here.

Good morning. Didn’t sleep too well, this dang thing has moved down to my chest a bit and now I have a cough. 😬Feeling pretty wiped out. No specific plans today other than to manage a shower at some point. Looks a little gloomy out, and is probably quite chilly. (Looked it up, it’s 60.) Had to turn the heat on at 67 early this morning, it got cold in the house. That’s all I’ve got for now. I hope everyone has a good day. Excited for everyone’s upcoming trips! 🐥

Happy Monday, dear friends,

Dad is feeling much better this morning, thank you all for your extra prayers for him. I am thankful to also share he is staying home today! Our new cookie plan is to try again with Pavilions early this coming Sunday morning. Should they not be appetizing again and dad not get them, we would have all afternoon to bake our own cookies for Monday. I shall keep all of you cookie posted. So, wish I could share some 🍪 with you! One day:grouphug: I will be calling You Customize It soon and will definitely share the outcome afterwards. It somehow feels like later in November to me and not barely into October. Anyone else feel that way? :) Hugs to all, always.

Thank you, Grandma Carol for the loving care you give to your grandkids always even during the night. As you we all know, kids need the most love and reassurance during the night, so I know your kind care meant extra to them and, I have a feeling, despite being tired, to dear you, as well. 🙏 you have gotten some extra rest since. Your Saturday sounds like such fun, chocolate chip 🥞 and all! Happy Birthday to your son Andrew, today, as well!

:grouphug:Pea, and please keep taking extra care! Enjoy leftovers much more today, I sure pray. Thinking of you! I’m so sorry to read your still under the weather. Try a Werther’s Original for the cough! At least they taste good unlike disguising cough syrup!

DisneyMommyMichelle and others, I have never cared for too short anything! For shorts I prefer Bermuda or a bit longer length. Pre pandemic, Kohl’s called shorts that were of length between traditional shorts and capris, Skimmers. Capris, for me, only work for summer pants. Otherwise, I am old fashioned and prefer full length pants both in jeans and pajama bottoms. I definitely do not think agree with young girls especially to be wearing short shorts or too small tops! Wishing you a wonderful Monday! 🌼

:wave:good morning, Snowysmom. When do you leave for ::MickeyMo? So extra grateful your trip is this week after no heat/hot water which is awful that you are still without! Seems like a long time. I do well remember the weekend when the ancient water heater to this old building gave out and was not replaced until later on a Monday. Many prayers by later today you have a warm place. If not, I would lean towards staying with one of your kids or friends! Please take care of yourself!

I hope you enjoy Hello Fresh, Judique! Your 🏡🍅is going to look lovely. I would enjoy seeing a picture if you care to share one. Prayers you get to see your granddaughter sooner than later!

 Taz! Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me!” Children are His alone, on loan to us and ought to be extra welcomed in His houses of worship. Very glad to hear your church feels this way. I do sadly agree some don’t which to me is so wrong. Time to calm down from being:tigger: Ben! :cheer2: for Wyatt! Praise God, He had you get a new battery ahead of truly needing one (when your current one had given out). That is indeed an extra blessing especially in the colder weather you have to come out there. Hooray for your WDW trip starting on Saturday! Excited to hear all about your adventure and meet up with Snowysmom, of course, too!

 PollyannaMom! I think it can be a fine line indeed. To me, from recent years experiences with kids, it is so sad to see so many even very young glued to devices. Worse was pre pandemic when I was able to safely go out, come across families ignoring each other to be on a device. Kids absolutely, now more than ever, with Covid continuing need safe space to be kids! That absolutely includes growth opportunities and building self -confidence, so vital. To me, quality family-time, is too, Another thing I so thank dear you for gifting the twins with the blessing of your time with them in joy, happy to be with them, and having fun, growing and learning together!

God Bless little Max. Footballmouse! So happy you thoroughly enjoyed the baby shower, Love the toy box! Mia, will, too! What a special gift for her. Please get some good rest and take care!

:grouphug: Lynn, and you just please be safe! Sorry Mr L’s packers lost. May they do much better in their next game. Dodgers and Padres first postseason playoff game is tomorrow. Dad is excited.

Wishing everyone a good Monday! I shall check back later.

I just realized what the 1000 pages were about! I was looking at posts, and there it’s over 20,000, and that’s amazing, too!

I am tired today. Woke up early to get a Candlelight Processional dinner for Tom and myself for December 9, and it’s done. The next day plan on having dinner at Turf Club with Meriweather and her DH. We met at WDW through Disboards maybe 10 years ago. What a great experience it has been. We both have January birthdays and we wore Birthday tiaras all through one January meet!

We got flu shots yesterday. Maybe that’s why I feel tired, and Tom’s arm is sore.

I wish everyone a good afternoon. I have an appointment to check my carpal tunnel hand, then a chiropractor appointment. What I want to do is sleep! Oh well.

:grouphug:Bobbiwoz and happy January upcoming birthdays super early to you and Tom! Candlelight Processional is just beautiful. God willing, as I have posted before, it would mean so much to me, one day post Covid, to be able to view it out here at DL with you and other Quackers!

I just heard from You Customize It. Clarifying with the rep that the narrow rim bowl is similar in weight to the kid's polymer bowl and will go from there. Was NOT happy (but no company blame. I absolutely should have and always now will carefully read before ordering the return policy) to learn that return shipping cost would be on me :( I am thinking the cheapest way to do that would probably be a flat rate padded envelope from the post office for $10.60. Almost half the price of the bowl. I would get a full bowl refund though once they received it. But still...to me that is a ton of money I really don't have :(

Other option is asking around locally to try to find someone who might want the bowl as a Christmas gift for their dad. That's a pretty rotten choice, too and not one I am a fan of as all of you already know! All good, of course, no complaints.

Have a great rest of the morning/early afternoon already friends.

I have pictures with Meriweather from January 2012 with our tiaras on, so, we met a year or two before that!

Are there other “in person” friendship that began on Disboards that have continued for years? I know I’ve read hear about upcoming meets and people who live pretty near each other.

Simba’s Mom and I have been friends since November 2010. I know I’ve met Dan Murphy, and I bet many of you have too!

Came back quickly for a second and wow how awesome that you have met in person a few Dis friends, Bobbiwoz! I sure would love to meet you! I have met two Disers way back in 2015 during the Candlelight Processional Weekend. On Saturday, i spent the day with a lovely family as we staked out our bench for that evening's performance. The next morning, I briefly met another solo Diser who looking back I wish I had chosen to wait all day with for that evening's CP. I almost met Sherry, may she RIP, a few times as she lived near me. Sadly, that never worked out, at least in this life. As all of you know, she was called Home onto Glory ahead of me and all of us. I do look forward to one day post plague perhaps getting to meet some folks who did meet her. Moat sincerely, it will bring me such joy, to get to meet some/all of dear you!

Get well wishes for all who are not feeling well.

Footballmouse The gift is lovely.

Taz dev I am looking forward to getting to Disney too. I am looking forward to meeting you. We will be arriving Saturday too.

There will be 10 of us for our Tusker House reservation which includes baby Sam. We have an early lunch reservation at 11:40 so hopefully we could get the alcove room

I am still without heat and hot water. They did confirm my appt for tomorrow so right after they leave I will be taking a hot shower! I am now nervous about this heating system. I am going to quiz the plumber tomorrow about any potential issues. He did reassure me that once he finishes working on it it will be in good shape but he can't predict the future. Now I am hoping they come to fix the pipes early in the AM tomorrow. 🙏I do know I want to sell this place after the holidays. I will just have to figure out where to go. I will make a list of pros and cons. I am confused now after talking with both kids but I am going to put this aside for now and just think about my trip. No worries on the trip except to count heads and make sure we have all the kids.

Have a good evening.

:grouphug:Snowysmom and much prayer you are cozy and warm right now for the evening! So excited for both you and Taz! Have a fantastic time all-around! ::MickeyMo

Wow, what a blessing of an experience, Bobbiwoz! I love that your group spanned all ages, how very special for all who attended.

Quiet almost evening around here. Grateful that dad rested extra this afternoon and indeed stayed home all day.

Wishing all of you a good night with love.

Good morning everyone.

Had a busy weekend. Late Thursday I had a call from my daughter who was in the ER with Ben. He was jumping on the top bunk bed and went face first into the ceiling fan. They were going to stitch his eyebrow, but Ben freaked out. She has to keep it glued together. He is a daredevil.

Friday we handed out more letters for donation requests and realized the phone number was wrong. Now we have to go back to the few places we went to earlier in the week and explain the issue and give them a new flyer.

Saturday was Wyatt's Homecoming game. I was so excited for him. They finally won a game, and he played very well, even scored the extra point on one of the touchdowns. He had the biggest smile on his face. My daughter at least got her car repaired and can handle her kids now. I was getting a little annoyed by it all. I love helping out, but I hate feeling like I am they are taking advantage of me instead of figuring things out on their own. Crystal can get a bus to work but always has excuses why she can't. I hate being tough on her, but she is 18 and needs to become a little more self-reliant.

Somewhere in all that I stopped at the tire dealer/auto mechanic to get air in my tires. The sensor was reading low pressure which happens when the weather gets colder. I decided to get the battery checked while I was there, and it needed to be replaced. I was glad I did though. With the cold weather coming upon us it would have died at an inopportune time.

Sunday was church and I took LJ with me. He behaved really well for a toddler and joined 2 little girls for some fun. They all decided to head up to the altar for a bit. My church is very tolerant of the little ones which is a blessing. I have been in churches where the little ones and their families were not treated as nicely. We went to a Halloween event at the local police district, but he was getting tired and wanted to be held the whole time. I took him to my son's house where my grandson was waiting. Then I picked up my husband and headed back to my son's house for football.

This week won't be much better. I need to get more letters out. Do a thorough house cleaning before the trip even though I know I will come home needing to do it again, and I need to figure out meals for my husband for next week. I keep telling him a spoonful of peanut butter does NOT count as a dinner.

I cannot wait to go to Disney on Saturday.

Hope you all have a good day.
Very busy and I can see how it is definitely feeling overwhelming!! At least the countdown to Disney is sooo close!!!!

Happy Monday and I am so glad to hear your father is doing better!!! May it continue for him and you all!!!
YESSSS on the shorts!! It drives my 17 year old daughter insane!! She buys jeans and makes her own shorts at the length she prefers.
I'm SHORT, so Capri's are pants on me and most shorts are a decent length on me but bermudas would be my preference but I end up looking like a rodeo clown with too big and awkwardly short pants!

I am still without heat and hot water. They did confirm my appt for tomorrow so right after they leave I will be taking a hot shower! I am now nervous about this heating system. Hello all :wave2: It's been a busy weekend that had far too much packed in to it! I was actually happy that it was Monday but a lot of my stuff from the weekend poured in to today and I spent it playing catch-up! Now I am finally sitting down, chatting with my husband (he works overnights) and watching Blue Bloods episodes that I have to catch up on and making lists for our trip to WDW, we begin heading south in 12 days and then taking it easy.

Good Morning. 43 degrees here. Hoping for heat and hot water today!

Hope everyone who is not feeling is getting better!

@bobbiwoz I am not handling this heating system issue well at all. I am anxious and stressed that something else will happen now. I don't trust it any more. Plus handling it alone is awful. But, it has to be done so I do it. And it makes me all the more certain I need to move to a place I can trust. I will definitely have an inspection of the next place. But when I bought this place everything was in working order and the previous owner kept up with maintenance.

I did not sleep well. I kept thinking about not making it to the airport in time. Plus Kenny is dropping me off at the terminal with all the luggage and the kids and then parking which makes sense. I think I will need a pack mule to move the luggage and keep an eye on the kids!

Have a good day.

Happy Tuesday! :sunny:

Just finished up breakfast here at work, my usual of hard boiled egg and wheat toast. I brought a banana for later 🍌. I'm working a 1/2 day today, I'm meeting some friends from my other job for lunch. It's a nice place between the football and baseball stadiums. I've never been here before so I'm excited to go.

I was planning to make chili last night but Mitchell (ds3) called and asked if I wanted anything from Chipotle. Umm, yes! I took his dog, Caramel, to the vet yesterday. She keeps digging in her ear so he wanted to get it checked, sure enough she has an ear infection. Then he had to take his kitten, Cleo, to the vet for her shots. When he came home he mentioned how this can get expensive. I said "yeah, welcome to my world".:cat::dog:

We have a few people on here that will be heading to Disney in a couple of weeks ::MickeyMo. Hope you all have great weather and low crowds. Make sure you post pictures. I play a game with my boys 3x's a week, two mornings when they get to work and then once at lunch. I text them a random picture somewhere in Disney and ask "Where am I?". It's fun to see who answers first and how quick they get it. Yesterday's picture was of the barstools at Rainforest Cafe 🐘. We ate there once in Animal Kingdom. Evan (ds3) got it first, took longer than usual.

I did not sleep well. I kept thinking about not making it to the airport in time.
I think everyone has this problem :scared1:. Set a couple of alarms and maybe you both can call each other to make sure they're awake. 😴

Have a great day! :flower:
