Good evening.

Been chilly and wet here the last couple of days. I broke down and put the heat on because the dog and my husband were wrapped in blankets.

I am feeling so much better except for a cough which is triggered by the strangest things. My mom finally decided I am not a threat to her health and so I am driving with her to Carlisle tomorrow to get my aunt. My aunt went to Pittsburgh just before the Hurricane hit Florida to meet some old friends. I wasn't crazy about my mother driving so far on her own and my aunt is fine with me being in the car. My mom doesn't really get that COVID is not the death sentence it was and since I am negative, I am NOT contagious. It will be nice to see my aunt as it has been about 3 years. She lives 20 or 30 minutes from Disney World but since I never rent a car I don't get to see her when I am in Florida.

I had the appliance repairman out today and the problem with my oven is what I thought it was. It cost $240 total to get fixed but at least there is no more gas leaking, and I can use the oven again. It is the time of year I start to bake and I want to make cookies to take with me on my trip. I like having them as a late night treat or breakfast with my coffee.

Other than that, not a whole lot going on around here. Hope everyone has a nice night.

@tazdev3225 I put the heat on too, and brought down comforters. Enjoy your time with your mom and aunt. Happy baking.

The morning temperatures were under 50, so the fish don’t get fed. I do hope we get into more normal temperatures. Today was the fifth day of high winds and rain. They say some beaches are much eroded, and there was flooding in North Wildwood. We stayed inside all day, except to feed squirrels and birds. Our dog walker did manage a 1/2 mile walk with Gus. Even she couldn’t convince him to do more once he realized he could turn the corner and be home.

I had a lovely afternoon surprise visit with Terri when she ended up coming by on her way home. Blessing indeed. Dad and I did get to donate the cookies we made yesterday earlier which, of course, made our day brighter. Warmer weather coming, dad will pick up fresh baked cookies at Pavilions on Sunday. He'll drop them off at church for pickup and birthday and other distribution of a few friends. We will, of course, share those around as much as we can, too. Barbara Ann and Linda's birthdays can be extended which they very well should be!

Wishing all of dear you a good evening and sweet dreams with love.

:cheer2:and feel better prayers🙏 Pea!

Dazed 🙏continuing for you and Kris, that is for sure, my friend!

Oh no, Easyas🌧️I'm sorry you got to wet. Grateful you had a short ride home. 🙏by now you are cozy for the evening! Grandma, years ago made the best homemade 🍟We had a small deep dryer that she dropped fresh cut 🥔into. So good! I hope you enjoyed your own fries.

:hug:Kirby and I am proud of your DD! Enjoy your cooler weather and be well, friend.

You have a very wise :dogdance:Bobbiwoz! Gus knows how blessed he is to have a cozy and loving home with you and your family. Thank you for that always.

Thinking of you extra right now, Frog! :grouphug:

I was debating on whether I should post tonight or not because I knew it would be a downer. I'm still sick, well coughing anyway....I went to Urgent Care when we got home and like I thought, definitely not Covid but I do have bronchitis. I got some meds and although they are helping with the chest congestion....its still there and my cough is super annoying.

My other depressing news is we had to say goodbye to our Buddy this morning. He hasn't been doing well lately and when DH and I got home from out of town, he seemed just tired and done. :guilty: We have a Dr that comes out to the house to do it so we made an appointment for this morning when we could all be there. He was definitely ready, this morning when I woke up, I thought he might have gone in his sleep but he was just really knocked out....poor guy. We are all emotionally drained and sad....its so strange to not have a dog here with us tonight. Since DD(24) was a baby, we've always had at least one dog, most of the time its been two. DH, who literally LOVES every dog he meets, said he doesn't want another one but we'll see how long that lasts. I can't imagine not ever having another dog again but I do need the break for a little while.

So anyway...sorry for the sad post but just needed to share and say it might be a couple days before I'm back again. :grouphug:

Auntie So sorry about Buddy. It is so hard to lose our beloved furbabies. :grouphug:

@dazedx3 I hope you and your family have a nice, peaceful trip.

Dark and cloudy out now. My app says it is raining but I can't tell in the dark. I saw Kenny last night we had dinner at a BBQ place. I got him cupcakes and put candles in 2. I wanted him to make a wish and blow out candles on his birthday. My therapy appt was interesting. She brought up alot of good points and issues. It explains alot of why I feel like I do and can't make any progress.

Have a good day.

Sorry about Buddy. How old was he? Yesterday I was at my friend's house and her two rescue dogs were busy cosying up and looking for pats on their heads. They are adorable and still fairly young. One has grown a lot since I last seen him, so must have been just a puppy when he was given up or abandoned. They came from down south last year, during or after some storm. Although I love them, I wish that people would be more responsible with letting dogs run loose, breed and then end up in shelters that can't keep them.

So sounds like Buddy had a full life with people who loved and cared for him.

In other news I went to lunch with my friend who is going to Florida with me in November.

Although we have our rooms and have lots of experience going to Disney, both of us are not prepared for visiting the parks. Thankfully, neither of us cares if we don't ride every ride and as for me, I've spent many trips with no plans, just doing whatever I feel like in the moment.

She hasn't bought a ticket yet and me, although I have plenty of tickets, have made no reservations. We will be there a week and I guess I better get cracking and book whatever is left, and hopefully we can get in the same parks each day. I was thinking of just booking maybe Epcot every day, and then hopping to others later. It will come together some way as time goes along. It's not something that will stress me, plus I go back in late January for another week, so if I feel I need to experience something, I can plan for it then.

We went to lunch at Red Robin and both of us enjoyed our meals. Haven't been there in years and then, I'd only been once, as a hamburger place is not really me, except for takeout from Five Guys. But I got a small salad and a hamburger with a pretzel bun and it was very good and tasty. I ate half and took the rest home for later. Many times later doesn't come, but I did end up eating the other half. Friend had the fish and chips and it was huge so she took home 2 of 4 pieces.

I also indulged and had a root beer float. I knew that meant I would eat a small part of any food, but it was good and a throwback to when I was much younger.

It was good to know we were still 'on' for the trip as we hadn't talked in a bit. I was sort of thinking of canceling if she had decided not to go. I would have just booked a one bedroom for January and banked some points. Actually wish I had a one bedroom for November - but that's probably not an option this late in the game. I'll check into it anyway.

@easyas123

I sure am loving the 50's in the morning and 80's during the day. I hope it sticks around for awhile longer.
Same here in NE Floida, since Ian. I'm loving having the windows open at least part of the day!

Glad you are feeling better. I'm not putting on the heat...it needs to be in the low 60s in the house before I'll breakdown and do it...the a/c is still on in the afternoons/overnight (as we don't leave the windows open at night, for safety reasons).

46 this morning here. 🥶 I would love it if every morning was that cool!!

@Pea-n-Me hope everyone gets better quickly as well!

@easyas123 We had so much rain with Ian.. Where the sun doesn't hit at all, the ground is still squishy.

@flyingdumbo127 you have such a positive outlook, thank you for that. Sometimes when I'm having a rough day, I just read one of your posts and it makes things seem less rough.

@Snowysmom :grouphug:

@Judique Sounds like a relaxing trip! I am a planner, but I don't like having to plan for a vacation, down to exactly when we are going to eat. That's not a vacation to me, that's work!

DH's company has an office in Fort Myers (near the Repertory Theater), and it was hit. Office is closed indefinitely. No one in the office was injured, thank goodness, but most lost everything. The company had a group from 3 other FL offices head there, and brought them supplies (financed by those offices and the people that work in them, plus another office donated), including water, clothing, toiletries, etc. Then the company asked all the other offices to take up a collection, and have people donate via zelle or Venmo to the two people spearheading this drive, to help pay for immediate needs, like hotels or gas, or for their deductibles or whatever they need. Then they also have a group going down to help with manual labor, for clean up. The people from that office have been told they are still collecting their paychecks, and don't have to take PTO for last week or this one; and they can work in a different office if they like, when they come back, or they can WFH. The company also helped with securing hotel rooms for those who needed it, using the company funds and discounts, and people don't have to pay it back. We can't go down to help with the labor (not safe for DH), so we donated some $$. His company gets a lot of flack on places like Reddit, for having high expectations, but they really do pull together when stuff hits the fan.

Other than that, not much new here. DH and I are debating which is better for us, to fly to CA/NE to see the grandkids, or to drive, come January. We'd take a rental car (I am not putting that much driving on my car, lol) from FL to CA, then to NE, and back home again; and it would be Dec 30-Jan 19. I'd have to find someone to come by and clean the litterboxes, feed and water the cats for that 3 weeks. Or we could fly; same route, but would only be gone Jan 5th-17th and just need someone for that shorter time; we wouldn't need a rental car in CA, as DD#2 will let us use one of theirs if needed, but we would need one in NE...either way, it's going to be about $3000-3500 (including hotel in NE, hotels/gas/rental for the drive OR flights plus rental in NE) plus food and things to do money. DH has bought tickets to take DGS#2 to Monster Jam, as it's there the weekend we are; there's nothing like that going on in NE when we're there, so we are planning on going to the children's museum and maybe the zoo/aquarium, if it's not too bad.

I placed an order with Torani, for some syrup flavorings a few days ago, and it came yesterday. I am not as big of fan of their pumpkin spice as I had hoped; it is a lot of pumpkin flavor and less spice; so I added a squirt of their signature vanilla and that helped. I think I'll add a bit of the bourbon caramel to my next cup, and see how that works with the PS. I bought two bottles of the PS, so I'll ship the 2nd to DD#2 (along with the bottle of pumpkin pie syrup they accidentally sent) as part of her Christmas. I like the Monin French vanilla syrup a lot, so the next time I order, I'll try some other flavors from them.

I need to mow the backyard; I got the front yard done on Monday, and yesterday was house cleaning day; then I'll be all caught up for the week. During Ian, I was finding all sorts of creepy crawlies coming in (where, I have no idea) including a few very large wood roaches, wolf spiders, and big black beetles; and frustratingly, I found a small roach this morning, in the kitchen. :crazy2:The people on the one side of us dug up a bunch of ground and tree stumps, and put in an inground pool and patio when we were moving in, and so I think the big ones came from that; but I have no idea where the little one has come from. :confused3I ordered some roach bait stuff, so when it gets here today, I'll put it out and hope that sorts it; if not, I'll need to call an exterminator (and pay for it, as it's specified we have to, in the lease).

All right, I'm off to go do...nothing until 9am. Have a good day, all!

Just checked on park reservations and they are fully available while we are there Nov 12- 18. I wasn't sure what I would find. Now I have to decide which of my tickets I'm going to use. I have an annual pass voucher, but I think I'd prefer to hang onto it a bit. If I activate it this trip, I may be committed to renewing it from here onwards since they are not being sold anymore. My voucher is also an equivalent to incredipass, so good during the blackouts.

May be best to just use some of my non expiry tickets. I'll have to think this out. @bobbiwoz any input? Will annual passes return? I'm thinking probably not anytime soon, but who knows?

I'm sort of ambivalent. I really would be happy to just go to Hilton Head instead of WDW these days and I get wishy washy about reservations after I make them. Right now that voucher can be assigned to anyone. I'm also getting to the point where I don't really want to drive alone and I don't care for flying - would need a prescription to help with the anxiety factor.

@Judique Sounds like a relaxing trip! I am a planner, but I don't like having to plan for a vacation, down to exactly when we are going to eat. That's not a vacation to me, that's work!

I was a planner back in the day. But now, I go with the flow, unless there is something specific.

I've been the person who had 2-3 meals booked a day and had dining plan. I've done most of it, just not the newer stuff which I'm not going to cry of I miss.

With a car, a meal is 'somewhere', and I know my way around. Also, with food and wine, I can snack. My only definite want is a good cup of coffee very early in the morning. With a biscotti, other pastry, bagel and a piece of some kind of cheese for protein. Then I'm good til lunch time or even dinner if I'm eating fruit, nuts, cheese or crackers or something to stabilize my sugar.

I'm also not into huge meals so buffets are pretty much a thing of the past for me. I've been known to do a walk in at Flying Fish to get an appetizer and a glass of wine at the counter. I've sat on those counter stools quite often, but not sure they still have them since I haven't been to BWV since early 2019.

Another of my favorites was sitting outside at Brown Derby with Cobb Salad and a glass of wine, people watching. Another fairly easy walk in (at opening) back before the mess. Now I have to get my phone in gear, download app's that I never bothered with before, get my DVC number and some gift cards loaded. Work, lol!

Happy Hump Day! :eeyore:

AuntiMe3 - so sorry about Buddy 💙. I know how hard it was for you to make that decision. Sounds like he had a happy life. Take care of getting yourself better. I usually get bronchitis once a year and it drains you.

Didn't do anything yesterday after work. Made dinner and I'll run a container up to my aunt so she has dinner for tonight and lunch tomorrow.

Today after work I'm headed to get a tattoo.

Talked to my friend this morning and she assures me that my gift for Evan & Bailey's baby shower will be ready this weekend. The shower is Sunday and I have one friend making me a toy box and another one who is painting the design on it. I'm very nervous, I usually like things ready in advance and not the last minute.

That's it for me, have a great day! :sunny:

Good morning all. Wow, a lot of you beat me this morning, lol. That's what I get for sleeping in an extra 45 minutes, lol!

@AuntieMe3 -I hope you feel better soon. RIP Buddy. He is running free on the Rainbow Bridge now, with all of the other departed DIS furbabies. He was loved, he was loved in return, and that's all I believe we can ask of our pets. Peace to you , and may happier memories replace the sad ones you feel now.

Going to be 70 today , with no wind for a change, and so far no prediction of rain.

Took trash out, have to get dressed and ready to go out to do errands and grocery shopping

Have a nice morning,,more later

That's so hard, I'm sorry you guys had to go thru it, it's never a easy decision.
Thankfully, neither of us cares if we don't ride every ride and as for me, I've spent many trips with no plans, just doing whatever I feel like in the moment.
That's how we've always approached our trips to WDW, too.

Good morning everyone. Another rainy day in Paradise, although the next several days look good, and warmer in the mid 70's & sunny. Can't complain about that! I ordered a few items for our upcoming trip off of Amazon this morning. This weekend we will go thru our clothes and figure out if we need anything in particular. I already know I need new jeans/pants and my husband needs shoes.

Not sure what's for dinner this evening.
