First day of 🏫🙏Judique! You please do get some rest!

:hug:Canadisney Fly. I am so glad you did take some down time! When I was younger and traveled a bit, I often felt the need for a vacation after a vacation! I hear you on that :)

I just sorted through my seasonal postcards. Just as an FYI, Amazon has great postcard choices all-around from seasonal variety packs like I prefer getting to just one design such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter, or Smiles, etc. Christian Book offers the cheapest way to get Birthday, Praying for/Thinking of You, etc. type postcards. However, the Christian Book cards, are all the same design in one package. That can be handy birthday-wise especially. Otherwise, it's much more cost effective to get a variety pack. Postcards are fun and as I said earlier save 16 cents on postage (44 cents) over first class (60 cents). To me that is a lot of money. In pre plague days, it was fun to hand postcards or those mini cards out at Valentine's Day or Thanksgiving at church. No stamp needed that way!

Still morning here, so good mid-morning, AuntieMe3 and good early afternoon to the rest of you :)

@Judique I hope your DD continues to recover!

We have been celebrating with my sister, and this weekend we have had hummingbird sightings at our feeders. Very happy, as these are the first of the summer. I guess they have visited, but we never saw them.

DS & DDIL are visiting since Friday and they will leave to drive to Boston at 10 Tonight. They should miss the shore traffic. They’re at the beach now…we are thrill they came and the weather has been perfect for them.

Tomorrow Tom and I leave for WDW. We have a Halloween party and a DVC Moonlight Magic at AK. Plus, we have two nights at BCV, and I will get lots of Storm Along Bay swimming in. With my balance other issues, swimming round the “ lazy “ River portion is wonderful for me. I love it!

I hope these last days of August bring blessings to you all!

DD is doing good so far. Just talked to her and will be going up to spend the night and to help get the girls to school in the morning.

We may be able to take her to see her niece on Tuesday, if she's doing okay.

So nice that you got to see your son and DDil and sister!

Moonlight Magic at AK has been my favorite so far. My last one was February of 2019, so hopefully it will still be wonderful. My next visit is scheduled for November and I'm at BWV and GFV in a Resort Studio - I want to try them. I have a friend who wants to go and who has traveled with me before, so that will be nice to have company.

^ I don’t remember when, but my last MM at AK was a washout! Three friends decided to go back to Jambo after a delicious meal at Tiffins. The paths were intersected by rivers!

I stayed with two other friends, and eventually the sky cleared, but we were soaked. It wasn’t the best night.

My “best” MM were two at Typhoon Lagoon. Once with DH and my sister, the other was with a son and one granddaughter. There were unlimited frozen treats and great dance parties and character meets.

This year we will be with our longtime friends, Bev ( friends since kindergarten!!) and her DH, another Tom. I was able to get them a night in Riviera where we our staying. It’s our first stay there. We had a few reservations there that were cancelled due to Covid.

:grouphug:Bobbiwoz, have a wonderful time ::MickeyMo Wishing both you, Tom, and your friends safe FUN! Looking forward to pictures and hearing all about your trip.

Praise God that your DD is doing good, Judique:hug: How fun to go to WDW with a friend!

Carol and B&B, much prayer your trips are continuing to go safely and well!

Pea, prayers your work week has begun safely and smoothly!

@frog3101 Keeping you in my prayers!

@lynxstch I'm back on Facebook! Another friend posted that this happened to her also and she thinks it's for the same reason. She was in Facebook jail for over a week. I don't post anything questionable, try to start arguments or anything against their rules so deleting ads would be the only thing I can think of. My friends post stuff all the time so I know that it's not that I wasn't receiving anything. I've deleted so many ads that the computers are really digging deep to find stuff to come up with.

@Judique Prayers for your family! ...... I also have some of the same issues here, can really be frustrating at times but wouldn't change a thing because it will all be worth it in the long run...... DD and I took a M/D trip back in 2014 and we had the best time. I've got a real desire to go to WDW but I only want to go with DD, is that a bad thing? Haven't mentioned it to anyone but she and I really click with our love of Disney. I am looking forward to introducing the GK's to Disney but not so much taking DH and he will want to go. He is such a humbug, maybe he should go. I'll spend less if he is there. :rotfl:

@Snowysmom , Sounds like Joe had a good service despite a few hiccups. Glad Chris' cousin was okay. Reminds us to be careful when we are tired and driving. I hope that a visit with the therapist will give you some much needed help in regards to your sleep schedule.

DD's ex and wife called a little bit ago to face time the kids. They always remind the kids of all the things that they have there for them and the things that they have purchased for them. The kids were happy to see them but being the age they are did not always stay in front of the phone where they could be seen. DD learned that letting the kids hold the phone caused more problems then it was worth. They would turn off the phone and he would get mad and call back ranting/raving at Carol for turning off the phone. I also didn't like being shown in the background, he has taken my picture before and shown it to DD just because he could. He blames her for bad connections and sometimes Lil Joe just does not want to talk to his dad. It's still a novelty for Lou Lou since he hadn't paid attention to her for so long. Anyway, no drama today.

:grouphug:Kirby, I think it would be a wonderful idea for you and your DD to take a trip to WDW You could plan a second family trip another time if you were able to afford both. Otherwise, what about a combination trip? Spend some time with just your DD and some with all of your family.

Wishing everyone sweet dreams!

Good Monday morning! :daisy:

Going to be hot and stormy today, storms are supposed to roll in during the evening ⛈️. Tonight is supposed to be my Pilates class but if it's storming, I'm not going out.

Tomorrow Tom and I leave for WDW. We have a Halloween party and a DVC Moonlight Magic at AK. Plus, we have two nights at BCV, and I will get lots of Storm Along Bay swimming in.
Have fun at Disney! Storm Along Bay is our favorite, so much to see and do at that pool.

Worked night shift all weekend so after I slept Sunday morning, Ds3 and I went down to help Ds1 and DIL clear our their storage unit. She really wants to get moved in but Ds3 turned the house into a project house, which it didn't need to be, so now they're both stressed over it. Ds3 has ADD so I think he started way too much on this house. I explained to her that he needs to work on one room each night and then do other projects after they move in. He just has painting to do and put the kitchen cabinets back up but he gets distracted.

After clearing out the storage unit, we all went to Firehouse Subs for dinner. I haven't been there in years and it was so good.

Got in a little walk with the dogs yesterday morning when I got home from work. Weather was perfect and the dogs were excited to get out after being home alone all night.

I'm going to grab some breakfast before I start working. Have a great day! :wave2:

Good morning, all. Was up before dawn because DH had to leave super early for work today, so I've been lazing on the couch under a fluffy blanket. I watched the ends of two different movies that I've had to pause in the DVR lately, and then I put on Hocus Pocus. (A little preview of fall, since it was a chilly morning 🎃. )

I have to drop some things at the dry cleaner today, but otherwise I'm "cocooning" - my social battery has been blinking yellow for days.

Good morning all. Another hot one, hear 95 today. Figures, as it's the afternoon they are supposed to come with the 'gutter making' truck and pump out the gutters. I guess they are used to it, but still. I feel bad for anyone working outside in heat like that.
Handyman came yesterday afternoon and almost finished the trim on the front door. He had bought 2 pieces of trim, but somehow one of his sons ended up picking them up and taking them home with him. He has to make another Lowes stop and get 2 more. When he puts in the gutters, he's also going to get on the roof with his chainsaw and cut off the low hanging Black Walnut branches. There is one hanging over the front corner of the house, over the elec line, which always worries me. Then it will be the shed ramp and he will be done!
Mr L feeling a little better, thankfully

@bobbiwoz --have a great WDW getaway!

@PollyannaMom --lol at your wishing fall here sooner, by watching Hocus Pocus!

Have a nice morning all--

Hi everyone.

We are home. Had a great trip but it was HOT! I had done August before but this was brutal. And a storm every evening.

Did 18 rides/attractions in MK our first day there. Genie+ , and our slave driving daughter, did it. We had to start asking for bathroom breaks. I think our best meal was lunch in Tusker House in AK. It was Carter's first encounter with the characters and he was in awe. We had a kind of private room, which was great. And the food was delicious. Did get to ride Guardians of the Galaxy, Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Train, Remy, and Millennium Falcon. Not willing to pay for Rise of the Resistance or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. And of course many of the old favorites.

DH and I did bring home the unwelcome but not unexpected souvenir of COVID. The way we packed into rides, it was inevitable. Mostly feels like a bad cold. We are both recovering. Figured we had a good 29 months not getting it.

No way I am catching up on the pages I missed. Starting tomorrow, I have Tessa and Carter for 3 days until their daycare resumes.

Let me know if I missed anything important.

@Breezy_Carol

Glad you had a good trip, sorry about bringing an unexpected visitor home with you, feel better soon!

I guess the biggest news you missed was one sad thing and one happy thing.
@Snowysmom--her friend Joe passed away and they had the funeral on Saturday
@Judique is a new grandmother. Baby Quinn Amelia was born on Thursday--adding her picture so you don't have to scroll back to find it,,hope Judique doesn't mind!--check out her blanket..she's a Quacker, lol!

Other than that..more Quackers have left or are leaving for WDW soon, and others are back.

Pretty much everything else on the thread is the same old same old!

I don't mind at all and I should post a better picture. They will get the photog pics from the hospital soon so maybe I'll wait for them.

Good Morning everyone and Happy last few days of August. It feels like summer here but definitely later in the season. Dad is out doing Monday shopping. God-willing he should eb home within an hour. 🙏 please that his upcoming Thursday dentist appointment goes safely and smoothly. I also truly pray should he not completely feel comfortable with the new practice that he will choose to look into alternatives. Hopefully, of course, that won't be necessary :)

:grouphug:and welcome back, Carol! I'm so sorry about Covid. Much 🙏 you and your DH recover quickly and easily! Other than the heat which would be awful, I'm grateful you had a fun trip ::MickeyMo Get some rest and please take care!

:hug:Footballmouse and as always, I sincerely thank you for all the compassionate care you provide too so many! ⛈️is not for me either. Please do stay home tonight should the weather be stormy! :dogdance:bring such cheer indeed.

How lovely your cozy day sounds, dear PollyannaMom! 🛋️📺I'd love to spend it with you.

:cheer2:that Mr. L is feeling better, Lynn! Praise God. You sure did do a fantastic summary job for our friend Carol! :thanks: Keep cool!

The picture you did share is precious, Judique! 👶:lovestruc

Thinking of you, Pea! Continued extra prayer for Frog and Kirby. Love to all. I will check back in later.

Some people are total morons. The truck for the gutters pulled up in the driveway...out gets ONE guy. I looked at him and said where is the other guy, how are you supposed to pump out and carry 46 and 43 feet of gutter without bending it? He called the office and talked to the boss..he told him the homeowner (me) was here and willing to help hold them. Boss was too lazy to send anyone else out to help him. I told him I would help, but that I expect some kind of a refund for having to do it. Boss said okay. Guy had 2 stands and set them in the driveway, and measured the footage. Pumped them out in about 15 minutes,,and we very carefully lifted them off the stands and walked through the front yard, and into the other side yard. Handyman wanted them there in case of a storm and so noone would accidentally drive over them. Boxes with all the other parts, including downspouts are in the shed. I called the handyman to tell them that they were here..he was not happy that they only sent one guy. He deals with them all the time, and that they should not expect the homeowner to help. I said well what if I was 90, or sick, or frail and couldn't do it. Handyman says then the guy would do them himself..they would bend..and they would have to remake both pieces, do not let him leave until you have looked at both pieces, and made sure they look okay. He had me take pictures and send them to him so he could make sure himself. All the darn driver was worried about was payment, he asked me 3x for the check. I said when you are done, and I am satisfied, and you write me a receipt with your name and the owners name, THEN I will give you the check. I had it in my shorts pocket all along anyhow, lol. They look so pretty sitting there,,they are going to make a big difference in the way the house looks once they are up! Its almost 95 outside and very very warm. One more step towards being done with everything on the to do list for the year!

Happy Monday all....I don't know about anyone else but this weekend fly by. I woke up with vertigo Saturday morning and it's still going strong this morning. It's been rough doing just about anything so I might not be on much until it subsides....I started getting motion sick last night playing a game on the phone.

Carol, sorry to hear about coming home with Covid. Hope you feel better quickly.
