Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Whew…it’s warm out. None of the possible rain storms came thru, but it’s that weird bright-but-cloudy out there. About to call it a day and relax for the remainder of the afternoon.
Yeah, I was trying to beat the rain and thunder while mowing my grass and picking up twigs in the back where the trees from the neighbor make sure I get a good supply. It was supposed to come at 1pm and now shows 60% chance at 6pm.

I've started a body reduction program - my name for 'I'm gaining a bit and got to stop eating so many carbs'. Made a big pan full of Costco's stir fry frozen veggies for lunch and added in a packet of panda express teriaki sauce from when the kids and DD ate that Tuesday evening. It was delicious!

Then I ruined it all by having a bowl of ice cream.....

Still sunny and hot here,,wind is blowing, so maybe a storm on the way.
@Pea-n-Me I will take credit for the Nathan's fries, lol. They are the ONLY ones we ever eat
Dinner is going to be brats for Mr L..chicken thighs for me.
Off to do my beauty routine,,and waiting for SIL and niece to bring us a dozen fresh corn from the farm stand. I guess they got to start picking it early this year. And I have our first tomato ripening so we will be having that within the next few days

I missed your comment earlier about postage going up Mona. Thanks for the reminder!

Pollyanna, my grandmother used to grow something lilies like that but she called them Tiger Lilies. They grew very tall, maybe about 3'. They were as tall as me as a child.

Pea, the burgers look delicious!

footballmouse, prayers for your DS and DIL. It can be so hard finding a good home and then being able to buy it nowadays.

No rain for us in the next 10 days. We can expect temps back up into the 100's about midweek and continuing for at least another week.

We met DS and DIL for brunch today, a place called The Rustic in Dallas. I enjoy their brunches. They serve it family style. It's an assortment of items and there is one of each for every person. By the time you have had one of every thing your stomach is satisfied. And I also enjoy their French Press coffee. Here is the link if you want a look https://therustic.com/dallas-/mobile-main/#lunch . Let me know if I'm not doing the link right.

DD and I went to the Farmers Market this morning before heading out for brunch. I picked up some peaches and beef jerky for DH, also a jar of Papi's Kitchen dill pickles for DS. There was a booth of locally made pies that I've always passed by and decided to stop and look today. Bought a small 6" coconut meringue pie for DH and a 6" ham and spinach quiche for DD and me for later in the week. I've noticed that the pies sell out quick and since we were there very early, we had a lot to choose from. The quiches go first. Next time I am going to hit that booth up first thing if the quiche I bought is as good as it looks. DD bought half a watermelon, macaroons and pecan toffee.

My sister called me yesterday and said that a precancerous polyp was found in her colonoscopy. She is not worried, she has to go back in three years. She then told me that if she should get colon cancer she would not take treatment, in which I told her that she better get her affairs in order then. I told her in a kind way, we have discussed this before. She can't get her DH to act on anything. He just puts things off until it's almost too late. Case in point, she then told me that he has neuropathy in his feet and fingertips. He has had symptoms for three years and has been doing research online about it. His feet hurt so bad now and he can't even open a water bottle screw top because of his fingers hurting. He finally went to a doctor and they took a sample out of each calf of his legs and he did not feel them cutting on him. He is not diabetic. His current treatment is electric shocks to his feet because he does not want to take any medication if he doesn't have to. He takes three prescriptions for his heart. She didn't even know that he had an issue until she overheard him talking to his sister, he has hid this from her for three years. Why he would want to keep something like that from her is beyond me.

Update on DD's situation, I don't know if I have said, but her ex is now refusing to tell her where to pick up the kids for her weekend visitation in two weeks. He says that he doesn't know yet. She feels like her attorney is all smoke and mirrors and really doesn't really care if she gets to go see her kids or not so she has contacted one of the attorneys she has consulted with about taking over her case. If you would, please pray for this situation.

:grouphug:Snowysmom, truly I am so very thankful to God for your loving family! I also hope you had fun at the zoo! Much prayer for Chris' cousin.

Hooray :cheer2: for calling it a day, Easyas. Enjoy some R&R.

Judique, I hope you enjoyed every bite of your ice cream! 🍨

Glad you will get to see your SIL and niece, Lynn. Enjoy the 🌽

Huge :hug:Kirby. I wish I could choose both the angry and sad emoticons on your post because I sure would, my friend. Much, much prayer. It sounds like your DD absolutely needs a new lawyer pronto. I am glad you got to enjoy brunch. The link worked for me just fine, thank you for sharing.

📱Update is that finding one is going to be harder than we had hoped. What actual stores have is limited to none for Verizon prepaid (and new) which we want to stick with. I also do not want refurbished! Best Buy did have a Galaxy at the store closest to us. The problem? Their 1-year Geek Squad Accidental Protection plan is "only" $39.99! Two years is twice as much. Square trade is only through Target (electronics doesn't answer the phone, will try yet again) and Walmart (the one location anywhere near us about 45 minutes away, already told me that they have no phones in store which meet what we're looking for). We will be looking more this afternoon. Now, it is true we could pay Allstate $8.99 a month on any phone to get their coverage but that is more than Best Buy for 2 years. BB might not be so bad an option, after all :P Minor absolutely especially in comparison to what so many of dear you are going through. No complaints, you all know that. Some phone finding prayers would definitely be appreciated. Thank you, friends.

❤️to all🐥

Good afternoon.

We are back from our drive and it is HOT and HUMID here. Dark clouds and thundering but no rain.

Went to the first furniture store that was having a sale and giving our $25 gas cards, which we got. Mostly looking to replace things that belong to DD from my MIL that DD never had space for before. The store did not have much or anything we liked. Decided to go to our favorite Amish furniture store where we have purchased many things. It was lunch time so ended up at WaWa for Hoagifest. Then to the second store that had many things we liked. I ended up impulse buying a small table. I had wanted a little table I could take out by the firepit if we wanted to make s'mores. And after we got the two rocking chairs for the porch, I needed a table for a drink or my book. They had a small table in the exact colors of our porch furniture so I bought it. This is totally unlike me but DH encouraged me to get it.

Caprese salad
That looked so yummy. And I liked all the pictures of Grady and Tot in the pool.
My son & DIL put a bid in on a house
Fingers crossed that they get this one. I am certainly aware of the stress of home buying
I've started a body reduction program
I need that too. Too much vacation.
Update on DD's situation,
So sorry her ex is making it so difficult.

Mona, I feel like phone technology is expensive today, almost no matter what you get. I remember when you used to be able to walk into a phone store and get a cheap one if you wanted to (like I bought for Mom, though she wound up giving it back to me, didn’t want to use it; I wanted her to have it for when she went out - I’d sometimes get calls from the supermarket phone or a stranger’s phone if she needed help), but it seems like those are hard to find now. Do you and your Dad share one phone? It sounds like the Best Buy Galaxy might work out. Just think, if anything happens to it in those two years, it’s nice to be able to just get it repaired with no out of pocket costs. Without the protection plan, you can easily drop quite a bit of money for the smallest repair. So it sounds like you’d be getting a good value. 🤞🏻it works out.

Prayers for your son footballmouse. I hope he gets the house! That’s so exciting! Good for him to have been able to save up enough money for a down payment and all that. Not easy today.

Prayers for your daughter, too, Kirby. I can’t imagine how frustrated she is. I hope she can find a more responsive attorney soon.

Judique, there is always tomorrow. I just had a Dilly Bar myself. 😝

For lunch I had the other half of my turkey burger leftover and I think it had better flavor than it did last night! My father used to always say things usually taste better the next day, after flavors have a chance to meld, and I think he was right. Whatever burgers we don’t use, I’ll freeze, but I’m betting DH and DS will have one again tonight when they come off the boat. DD and her boyfriend went out to dinner for their anniversary. It’s just me and the pooches right now, and quiet, which is nice. I gave Grady a big MilkBone downstairs, and Toto some tiny MilkBones, and a little while later Toto came walking upstairs with Grady’s big MilkBone trying to find a place to hide it. Brat! I think Grady is waiting for DS to come home to eat it. He is already attached to him, which is nice. He enjoys us all, but he’s ‘it’ for him.

Snowysmom, glad you had a nice dinner with your son.

Bought some things to make this weekend but will probably happen more tomorrow than today. Going to try to make an eggplant parmesan without frying it. And maybe chicken parm, as well, baked. Saw how on IG but have to look it up again. Bought more garlic Naan bread for pizzas which may be later in week. (Speaking of which, we roasted some garlic cloves in olive oil last night to use up while we were outside eating, but forgot about them! Pretty dark when we came in the house and strong garlic smell today, which none of us really mind, lol.) I also got some ribs for DH and DS, and sausages, will probably have those Monday with peppers and onions. It’s hard to plan a bunch of meals when shopping alone (especially when yakking half the time with an old friend ☺️ ). Oh yes and I grabbed some chicken and steak on skewers that looked good. Those might be easy to throw on the grill tonight, but we’ll see.

It bugged me the other night when we went out to a restaurant and several people near us were coughing through the whole meal. After just avoiding Covid with DD. DH actually suggested picking our plates up and moving to another location in the restaurant where it wasn’t as crowded! :scared1: It was tempting, but no, I didn’t want to do that. So little desire to go to restaurants right now unless we’re outside or it’s not crowded. 😕

I hope everyone has a nice evening. 🐥

Thank you all for your phone support and prayers. I'm excited and very thankful to say we ordered this Galaxy A 13 from Best Buy. Easy to do from the safety of home, plus it is supposed to arrive tomorrow! We got their Geek Squad 1 year protection plan with it. We're so grateful to have been able to do this in general, of course, and all the extra from our own computer. The price is more than we had intended but, as always and in all ways, big and small like this, God works everything out! The money we will be refunded from the awful Walmart phone+ the reimbursement check we will get from Allstate, will make this phone much more affordable. I am also relieved that this phone is new from just this last March unlike the S 7 which was from 2016! I'll definitely share a 📱update tomorrow!

:hug:Carol, your new table sounds lovely. Good 🛍️!

:grouphug:Pea on your mom. I definitely had a flip phone back in 2001 and 2002 as a caregiver to my grandma.

Good to see you post again, Dead. Stay safe ⛈️and dry!

Wishing all of you sweet dreams.

Hello to all Quackers. We had a really nice day weather wise, one of the best all season. Unfortunately, I think we are headed for more heat over the next few days. No thank you.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope your new phone works and you are able to finally enjoy having an updated one that has a descent camera.
@Kirby please give your daughter a big hug from me. I feel her sadness and stress in my own soul. It's SO difficult to not be able to see ones kids daily, let alone for weeks at a time with no real communication. And, yes, get her a new attorney ASAP!
@Breezy_Carol all that furniture sounds like fun and good finds. We had two couches delivered today. I had purchased them from a young lady who I know who is moving to a new apartment in a different state and no longer wanted/needed them. Her grandparents and uncle brought them and set them in my living room for me. I have another one coming as soon as I can find someone to haul it. This one will go in the basement and blessedly is going to cost me nothing. SO grateful for that. Then, I think we will be set in the furniture department for a good while. We just need our bed frames to get here. Hoping by the end of next week.
Today was a rough day. My youngest has stayed 2 nights with his dad and I just miss him terribly. My youngest daughter cried when she thought she was going to have to stay over there and see him. He finally asked about seeing her (before all this he hardly had anything to do with her) but she is wanting none of it. We compromised and she went with me while I dropped oldest daughter and oldest son off. She said hi to him and talked for a few seconds and then came back with me. She was really tired from camp. She took a nap when we got home. I did explain to her that at some point she will have to stay over there for longer periods and sometimes overnight. She was not happy about this. My oldest daughter got home and said she is "done and not going back over there". She is desperate to be able to speak to the judge about the case, but in our state she is not old enough. Each time she asks I do make a note and send along to my attorney. I figure it can't hurt. My husband a took the boys to a movie tonight. He never ever had time for movie in our marriage. It's so stressful to see him stepping up because he thinks 50/50 is what is "fair". Nothing about this mess is fair. Even my oldest said, he can't jus step in after 14 years and act like he's always been in our life and act like nothing is happening right now. Sigh. It's so so hard. Esp. when I don't want to cross any lines when talking to the kids about it, I don't want them to feel in the middle in any way. I told my husband to please drop my youngest off after the movie or I could get him and he never responded. ugh. My oldest son is spending the night there.
I did manage to get a few loads of laundry done today and actually hung them on the line. Found a few things in the mess that is the garage that I needed for the kitchen and ran to a new meat store. They custom cut meat for people and also sell it. It's a bit pricier than a grocery store, but the taste is so much better. I just picked a few things as I do have my own hamburger and some steak in the freezer. Right before my husband informed me he was "done' I had ordered a quarter of beef from our neighbors up the road. I took as much as would fit in my new freezer when I left.
My daughter made a no bake cheesecake tonight and I'm anxiously waiting for it to set up. Its supposed to chill over night but I may need to sneak a slice later tonight.
My interview Friday was the most laid back I have ever had and a bit weird. I would love the job and the hours though, so please prayers and good thoughts that this is the one I'm supposed to have. They said they would not let me know for at least two weeks. Yikes.
Have a good night everyone.

EDIT: I asked my husband to bring my youngest son home after the movie or I would go pick him up. He never responded and now it is 12:32 AM and no word. I think it is safe to say that he's not bringing him home and he didn't bother to call and let me know when they got back from the movie so I could go get him. I've sent my attorney this information, but I'm guessing it won't matter much.

Good morning all. Going to be hot again today, 89 or so, but less humid. Still saying a chance of storms,,but they said that yesterday and all we got was 1 rumble of thunder and sprinkles for about 5 min while SIL was here dropping off the corn. She also brought a bag of fresh picked spring mix, 3 squash, 2 yellow tomatoes, and 2 peaches for Mr L. She knows he loves his peaches.
@Pea-n-Me I laughed so hard at the thought of the sight of Toto stealing Grady's milkbone and trying to hide it..too funny!
@flyingdumbo127 Good luck with the new phone, I hope you like it and it works well
@frog3101 -- sending you more hugs and more prayers. :grouphug:
Off to put the dry rub on the ribs for dinner tonite.
I feel about 1/2 like I am coming down with a summer cold, always happens about this time of year
Have a nice morning all

Greetings from Covid central!
Tested positive, of course I'm feeling tons better and really wasn't feeling so bad to begin with that life wasn't going on as normal. Now I'm suffering from "ack! I can't leave the house", which I don't tolerate well. Mind you, didn't have any real plans to go anywhere today anyhow BUT knowing I can't now makes me feel very restless! Second time I've had it and I'm going to go nuts sitting here for another 4 days! Well, at least I don't feel like hell this time.

HOT and HUMID here.
We had some storms overnight, according to the rain gauge we got about 1.5 inches of rain. It is so thick out here now that you can cut it with a knife, and it's raining again. I think it's supposed to be cloudy and humid here for the remainder of the day with the sun coming out around 4 or 5 PM.
Thank you all for your phone support and prayers.
Enjoy your new phone!

I think I'll be smoking a pork butt today....gotta go evaluate what's what in the fridge and decide on that. That or make some shrimp salad.

Sorry you're stuck at home, but glad you don't feel worse! My aunt is quarantining as well. She had just a little bit of a sore throat and a slight runny nose, but tested because some friends of hers were sick, and sure enough that's what it was. ☹️

@easyas123 Sorry you tested positive. I know what you mean that you want to do something as soon as you can't do it. I hope you continue to feel better.

@flyingdumbo127 Congrats on the new phone. I have the Samsung A42 which is a bit bigger that my Galaxy 8 but like it alot. I do like Samsung. I hope it arrives today and you are happy with it.

@frog3101 :grouphug: I am sorry things are so tough. It is good to document everything so you can let your attorney know, as you are doing. The kids are caught in the middle and it is hard for them. I hope you get the job you want. Nice that your friends could bring the couches to you. You and your kids are in my prayers.

The trip to the zoo was nice. I have not been to the Stone Zoo in years. They had lego displays of various animals and insects. The kids loved them. The tarantula lego was a bit too much for me. It was scary. There was a hummingbird lego, a falcon lego, and parrot lego. Since they were birds, they were my favorites. The kids enjoy the animals and know where to find each one. It was hot so all the animals were hiding in the shade sleeping. It was nice of my younger DS to invite me to go with them.

I took a walk around the complex and had coffee on the balcony. I could hear a cardinal but did not see him. It is the first time I heard one here. It was comforting just to hear him. We had cardinals at the house. I am drinking my coffee out of a cardinal mug. Older DS and family will be hear this morning. The grandkids can play on the little playground for a while. It is cool right now with temps heading to the low 80s.

I had a meltdown last night. I was just missing Chris so much and am lonely, sad, and scared about what life has to offer. I stayed up past 11 which is not like me and was up early today. I am reading a book called "I wasn't ready to say goodbye." I was hoping it would have some valuable info I could use to move at least a step ahead but I am not sure it is the book for me. Alot of grief books tell you just to be happy and move on. That is what your loved one wants for you. That is not the least bit useful. Of course Chris would want me to be happy. When I lost 2 good friends in 2018 Chris and I had the talk about our wishes when we pass. I am glad we had that conversation as it made decisions easier. He always said he wanted me to be happy and move on. I felt the same way. But it is easier said than done for sure. Also the authors tend to tell their story a bit too much and not give enough useful advice. This will probably be a donation. I read reviews and I really think about the books before I buy them but sometimes they are lemons and you have to let them go.

Time to go do some dusting and get ready for the grandkids.

Have a good Sunday.

Happy 4th to all of you on the south side of the 49th! I'm heading out of town and managed to do OK in my pre-trip stress (I always get a little bit stressed but with two years of isolation, it seems to really be heightened). I had my 4th shot on Friday - slept a few extra hours that night and had a mildly stiff and tender arm, but that's it. Whew!

Busy week in the field with eight of my team - full house - and am leaving DS at home alone (he's just 16 but I think his father will take him to his place at night - DexH is a man of few words).

Love your pool and that you managed to get the dogs in (and out!) @Pea-n-Me !

Re: printers. DH said next time we get a printer, we're getting one of the ecotank ones. No ink cartridges; just a bottle that loads the tank, so you only fill it enough to use, so it doesn't dry out. We don't print very often anymore, so this would work great for us.
I have an ecotank printer - best thing EVER.
This morning, before we could fold it up for the day, Buddy decided it's his bed now.
Now THAT'S a dog bed! 🤣

@flyingdumbo127 - I'm so glad you have sorted out the phone.

I'm way behind in my catch-up reading but have to get on the ferry - have a lovely week to all!

Morning all!

@Pea-n-Me love that salad pic! I'm glad Grady has found his human, and that he's settled in; and silly Toto for stealing all the treats!
@easyas123 sorry you're sick; and @PollyannaMom sorry to hear about your aunt
@flyingdumbo127 glad the phone situation got worked out!
@frog3101 keep hanging in there!
@Snowysmom I'm glad you had a good day at the zoo
@lynxstch I love fresh peaches too! Not a big fan of the texture, but the flavor is amazing.
@Kirby ((good vibes)) for your sister and her spouse; sorry your daughter's ex is being a pita
@Breezy_Carol Glad you found some tables to match!
@Judique I've done the same thing myself many times. Good healthy dinner; bad bad bad dessert!
Sorry if I missed anyone!

Let's see..
I'm feeling much much better. Stopped with the Mucinex; now it's just a bit of a deep cough on occasion, a runny nose, and a little irritation in the throat. Took another home test, and one more at Walgreens on Friday; still negative. :cool1: Maybe it's a gene thing or something; DSoIL#2 tested +; DS/DD#2/DGS#2 all were -, even with being in the same house the whole time up until the day after he tested +. Earlier in the pandemic, they were living with some friends just before moving to Oki, and the friends all tested +; DD#2 took care of them and their kid, and never tested +. She stopped masking at work, at Legoland; two of her VIP tours had tested +, the day after the tours, and still she tests -. It went around DGS#2's classthis year; he never tested +. And they go get tested, and do home tests, anytime someone they've been around tests +. Gotta be from DH's side though; DD#1 and DGS#3 both tested + when it went around his school. :rotfl2: BTW, DSoIL#2, even being such a physically fit guy, is still struggling 2 months later, with breathing issues and being tired. He was vaxxed, with his first booster, and caught it. He is just now able to start running again, but can only do a couple of miles before he has to stop; before he could do a full marathon. He had to get excused from doing the annual? gas mask training last month, because he couldn't do it at all. He said it was a win situation, as he hates having to do it. 😅

Having a lazy weekend. Dh upgraded our ethernet cards, and cables, and got a new internet switch box, to help with speeding up the internet to the back of the house (where he and DS have their computers).
Today is my lazy cooking day; we're having hot dogs, mac n cheese, and frozen veggies for dinner; and leftover chicken wings and fried pork chops for lunch. Tomorrow, we're having roasted chickpeas w/zucchini, tomatoes, couscous; homemade hummus, and naan. Then Tuesday, we're having homemade flatbread pizzas; pepperoni for DS, and red onion/pineapple/chicken sausage/BBQ sauce for DH and I. I might make some brownies or something today.

Y'all have a good day!

Snowysmom, I am loving the vision of you having your coffee out on your balcony with coffee in your cardinal cup and hearing a cardinal. :goodvibes I know other moments were tougher, but that’s a baby step, and it made me happy to hear that this morning. Have another nice day with your family. PS I grew up going to Stone Zoo (when I think it used to be called Stoneham Zoo) it’s been years since I’ve been there, too.

Easyas, sorry to hear you’re positive and stuck in the house. Tough when people come into work sick. A concern of mine if I get it before testing positive, too, is that I could potentially expose patients (and staff). Unfortunately when that happens, all patients have to go on isolation for ten days, which is a lot of extra work for everyone, not to mention super isolating for the patient who then can’t come out of their room, and can’t have visitors (unless expected to pass), etc. It’s happened before and I don’t want to be that person! It sounds like you’re past the worst of it, and I hope you continue to feel better. 💐

DD is still having symptoms of chest burning and shortness of breath. She and bf went for an ice cream after their dinner last night and it was crowded so they had to park a distance away. She had to stop to catch her breath a couple of times while walking 😟 and her heart rate is still high. Hopefully those symptoms start to subside soon. Damn disease!

Lynn I’m glad the MilkBone story gave you a chuckle. He does it all the time if Grady doesn’t eat his! He does the same thing, too, with the dental chew I give them in the morning! We have to watch them. Grady’s bowl holder is also high up. Toto can’t really reach in. The other night DD snapped a picture of him standing on his tip toes eating his food! We have to watch him, he’ll be getting tubby, and his weight was good last month at the vet’s. (22#) Otoh, we also have to keep Grady away from Toto’s bowls, he’ll eat his food, too. Toto doesn’t often eat right away, so we have to pull his food up. It‘s a constant thing, lol. Grady has a vigorous lap of his water and makes a bit of a mess. I bought different place mats for both of them, they have a lip so stuff doesn’t spill out. He’s pretty good with his food, though, eats quietly.

Last night we wound up throwing the chicken and beef skewers on the grill, and we made another caprese salad, and DH and DS had ribs and butternut squash. All were really good. The chicken was jerk flavor and very hot and spicy! The beef was like a teriyaki, I think. Pretty good, will buy again. They said the ribs were good, too. Earlier I saw DH scooting to our downstairs fridge with a bag of…. mackerel! 😷 They caught a bunch for bait (I guess they use a special rod that catches a bunch at once) and were freezing. I said please just make sure they are all dead first, lol. Some they let go. And when they catch big fish, they let them go, catch and release. They said the Coast Guard was out yesterday and boarding boats to check to see if they had all their paperwork and no booze. They boarded the boat next to theirs at one point. I guess they saw some small porpoises out there, too. They don’t want to go out today or tomorrow as it will be crazy with lots of people drinking on their boats. We all sat out on the screened porch last night and had some drinks and played song trivia, it was fun. DS cannot be beat with Disney music, it’s unreal what he knows. (Like, even the theme songs for rides, resorts, and individual pavilions, etc.)

Have a haircut this afternoon, am going to take dogs for a romp first to let them get some energy out. We still crate Grady when we go out as he’s got separation anxiety and chews shoes and other things. (8 yrs old, right!) But Toto sits right next to him and he’s comforted by that, and doesn’t seem to mind at all. Will probably get some lunch somewhere and sit outside, lol. May attempt the Italian stuff for dinner later, if still hungry. Have a good day, everyone! 🐥

Waving Good Morning and Happy Sunday to all :)

Phone check this morning still says "item waiting for pickup." It is not even 9am here. We will check back a little later this morning. Thank you all so much for your phone prayers and good wishes! It will be a blessing to have a phone again period and how nice to also that it should also have a working camera will be fun, too!

Pea, first and foremost much prayer for your DD! I am truly sorry she is still sick. This pandemic truly is just awful :( Much lighter note, I forgot to answer your question from yesterday that yes, dad and I do each have our own phone. Dad often when he goes out will send me a text with a picture or two of an item he's looking at that he may want my opinion on. This is super kind of him to take time to do. It definitely helps me to feel semi like I'm there and at least from here, more actively helping him shop. Of course, pre pandemic, when we'd get out more both together and separately our each having a phone was handy, too.

Huge:grouphug:Frog. I truly can relate to your DD because at one time I walked in her shoes in the eyes of the court and some others. Horrible treatment of an innocent child! How blessed beyond all your precious kids are to have YOU by their side and also your staunch faith example to follow. Feel free to PM me anytime. I care and am here. We all are, my friend 🌸

Feel much better, Easyas! Sure keeping you in 🙏 Dad, thank God, is doing just fine from his booster. He had a very sore arm that's almost all better now. He felt urged to get it because his doctor shared that in his opinion Covid is on the ride again here. I sure pray daily for a kind and permanent end to this plague.

You please feel better, too, B&B! Oh and will you please PM me? Thanks :)

Lynn, another wonderful patriotic photo, thank you my friend, so much. I truly hope you and Mr. L enjoy a restful and happy Sunday.

Snowysmom, so glad you like your A 42 phone. Other than some very first phones, we've always had Galaxies and are just used to them. I did for a very brief time once have a Motorola that just didn't work the way I expected or needed it too. Since I am not a techy lady, it just works better for me to stick with what is more familiar phone-wise.

A ferry ride sounds like such fun, Canadisney Fly! Be safe and have a great weekend, too!

Carol, I hope you were able to get to church this morning and enjoyed the new minister's first sermon I'll be checking it out a little later and will let you know what I think.

:grouphug:to all and have a great day!

Good afternoon.
all we got was 1 rumble of thunder and sprinkles for about 5 min
We got a tremendous amount of rain. There was some localized flooding but not near us.
Tested positive,
That is too bad. So many people I know are testing positive.
I know other moments were tougher, but that’s a baby step, and it made me happy to hear
Me too. @Snowysmom , it sounded like you were enjoying the patio.
I hope you were able to get to church this morning and enjoyed the new minister's first sermon
I did. The new pastor plays the organ too. And the church was pretty crowded today too. Mona, if you haven't already, go to the church website and read his bio.

Heading out to Longwood in a bit.

Frog, your ex is sounding more and more like DD's ex. I recommend journaling if you can about each visit, what the kids say, how your ex treats you, etc. Also, communicate through texting/emails if possible so everything he says is documented. Get a calendar and write notes on it, document the days the kids go with him and which kid. I circle the days on my calendar in blue that DD's ex gets the kids and write in notes about days he doesn't show or times he doesn't cooperate. Having it on a calendar can be a big help especially when you can see it on there instead of trying to picture it in your head. DD tries to journal, she's not a writer and has printed out reams of text messages and emails. She's farther down the road from you, 4 1/2 years farther, and it all came in handy with her first attorney. The only reason DD left her is because she moved in with us, over an hour away from her and she did not want to come to Rockwall once DD's case got moved here. I'm praying that this new attorney will be a stand up person and fight for DD and not let her ex run rough shod over her like her current one has.

Went to the first service today for church. Right after the sermon began an Amber Alert went out and a number of phones were making noises. I had mine on mute. The preacher said that he didn't know how to follow that. Then about 15 minutes later another alert went out and wouldn't you know, a few people still had not muted their phones. The preacher at that point kept right on talking like nothing had happened.

DH drove over to Forney, about 20 minutes away, to eat at Nina's Brunch. We had never eaten there before and we still haven't because the wait was 45 minutes. We headed over to Christina's and was seated immediately. DH had enchiladas and I had breakfast tacos.

Thanks, Carol. I did just reread (I had read it when you originally shared with me that he would be taking over). I do like that he has music background and at one point served as a chaplain.

Great advice, dear Kirby. Frog, do any of your kids like to write? What semi helped me as a kid was writing down some of my own experiences. Looking back, I might have benefited from keeping a journal of my own on court matters. Or these days, (I have no idea, btw, how/if this could work) using a modern-day tape recorder (or phone somehow) to do the same. Perhaps if one of your kids did that, that would carry greater weight coming directly from them and at the time. I realize, horribly, privacy can be a factor on some visits which makes me riled up all the more but true :( My heartfelt prayers are absolutely with both of you and those kiddos a ton.

I do have a phone update. Great service from Best Buy. The phone was delivered via Best Buy themselves, I'm guessing a Geek Squad truck. When the delivery man got here and didn't know how to open the security, Best Buy called us to let us know he was waiting. Dad went to meet him. I feel so badly that at this moment dad is at Best Buy. The phone, A 13, uses a USB C charger and did not come with one. Neither of us knew this ahead of time. Dad said he had read that complaint about other model phones while looking at options. It never occurred to me that the phone wouldn't come with the normal wall charger phones always have! As an FYI, all current Samsung (and for all I know other) phones now use this type of connection to charge. It's just another almost $20 :( We are very thankful Best Buy is less than 10 minutes away from us by Target. I'll share more about the phone once it is charged and can be set up.

The Christmas Cottage is being recorded on Hallmark as I type this. Did any of you ever see that movie?

Extra hug to all.
