Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good Sunday morning to all. Its 55 outside and going near 90 today. Had the windows open all night for sleeping, felt so good! No plans for the day yet..may just get in the car and go for a ride just to get out of the house. At least I got the ac unit uncovered yesterday so if I have to hit the cool setting on the thermostat, it won't be an oven in here.

Putting a bbq brisket in the crock pot, undecided if I want to bother making potato salad to go with it..or just throwing a couple of potatoes in the air fryer to bake. Making coleslaw to go with either.

Have a nice morning

90 sounds too hot for me! We certainly have a different and varied weather pattern in this state! I'm further south than you but closer to the Bay so cooler at times and warmer at other times. But, no doubt our 90ties will be common once May gets going and it will stay hot and muggy through October.

My central air isn't going on till I can't stand it, but upstairs has a separate unit for DD as it gets warmer up there. She will turn it on and it will seep down to me.

Good Morning friends,

It's warmer here already this morning than I think it was the entire day yesterday. I'm most grateful. I'm going to take care of some mail to get out and later on will enjoy as always watching online worship. Wishing all of dear you a happy Sunday.

Welcome again to you, Canadisney Fly. I hope you will stick around our kind thread :)

Hugs, Snowysmom. Keeping you in much prayer. What about trying some potted flowers? Or as Carol once shared, the bigger planters that you can either plant flower seeds in or re-pot flowers into? That might be an easy way to still get to enjoy some blooms outdoors without the heavier gardening work, which I wouldn’t care for either!

Love the morning Mickey, Lynn and wow to the sudden huge warm up in your weather! Enjoy the sunshine, my friend. Prayers always to you and Mr. L

Such cute welcome images, PollyannaMom! :)

Hug, Judique, what a lovely Mother’s Day gift was your maple tree! I love that you and your family are getting to watch it grow as all of you grow together. Special present that keeps on bringing joy.

I'll look in again later.

Not sure which is hotter,,the 89 degrees we are at,,or the big burning pile of brush, sticks, potato bin and old coffee table. You are supposed to wait till after 4,,but noone else out here even gets a burning permit, so I said the heck with waiting till 4. About 45 min ago,,it was a huge pile...now it's almost down to nothing but a pile of ash. One big job done, tomorrow I will let that sit and cool down before getting rid of it,,and put my portable greenhouse together..and Tuesday if it doesn't rain I will do the first tilling. Have to get some fertillizer, lime and cow manure to put down before the second tilling..

Beautiful trees, Canadisney Fly! Remind me of the purple jacaranda trees that should bloom within a few weeks out here. Thank you for sharing with us :)

Wow, keep cool, Lynn! I didn't think I'd be telling you that anytime soon with how cold and windy it's been for you!

What type of regular tape do all of you use? Dad and I are still having trouble with Scotch Magic Tape, the Matte finish. At the end of each refill role, is a small green tab that is supposed to pull off to begin the new roll before its placed on the dispenser. I called Scotch earlier this year to let them know the green start tab had immediately broken off on a few brand-new rolls over the last several months. They were so kind to send me (even though I didn't have the original green box) 3 replacement rolls. A little while ago, I opened the first replacement roll box, I was not happy when the tab broke right off. Dad saved the say on roll #2 by using his box cutter to get the tape started before the tab peeled entirely off. Starting tape should not be this much work! It never used to be. We have tried Duck Brand Scotch type tape in the past. Is that still a good choice? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you :)

It's lovely in the 80's here. Such a blessing to not be at all cold--hooray! Did any of you watch the dog movie on Hallmark last night? :dog:

Enjoy the rest of Sunday, my friends.

Enjoy the rest of Sunday, my friends.
I have Staples brand in the desk dispenser, and for some reason another one in a drawer as well, called "Pen+Gear". (I think that's Walmart's store brand.) I don't think I had a problem starting either of them.

@flyingdumbo127 I use Scotch Tape satin finish or sometimes the one in the red label. I have never had a problem. I sometimes buy the 3 pack for $1 at Dollar tree and I have never had an issue with it.

@lynxstch You make me tired when I read all that you accomplish in a day.

@Canadisney Fly Lovely Spring picture. Welcome!

The house is mostly packed up with just a few odds and ends to go. The kids put out the grill, lawn mower, and desk and chair for trash pickup. The lawn mower was taken by someone. That is good because it is one less thing I have to pay for to be taken away. I have to pay for the grill but not the desk and chair. Now I have to get all the bins I need moved out of their hiding places in the closets. Out of sight for the showings. Now I will play hide and seek with them. I am taking alot of stuff myself as I don't want the movers to take things like my printer or microwave or Chris' Star Trek models that he put together as a teenager. Yes, I married a geek! I will have 2 microwaves as there is a built in one at the condo. I can't give up my microwave as Chris and I bought it together. I will have dueling microwaves. It is strange to go to the house now. It is definitely not my house any more and I can only spend a short while there before I get too sad to continue. Then I leave and go back to my son's house and take a walk.

DD is dating a geek. He loves everything Star Wars and they spent the evening last night putting together Star Wars Legos.

@Canadisney Fly , beautiful picture! Welcome to the group!

We've had our AC on and off for the last two months. It's been on solid for the last week. We rarely open our windows anymore with our allergies. Poor Lil Joe and Lou Lou have been constantly coughing the last couple of days. The winds have been strong and are blowing whatever in. It's supposed to cool off a little on Tuesday. I might open some windows just to air out the house.

DS is getting married in three weeks. Went to Dfiance's bridal shower yesterday. I have my dress and shoes all purchased. I had a much easier time finding what I wanted than nine years ago when DD got married.

DH smoked some Cornish Hens for a late lunch. I heated up some scalloped potatos that I found at Kroger and added an Endless Summer salad mix.

Congratulations to your son, Kirby and his future wife as their wedding day gets so much closer! Aw, poor kiddos. It's always so hard to see kids sick :( I just shared with our friend, Apirateslifeforme via PM, how tasty and helpful Werther's Originals Hard Candy are. I think I've shared on here that for me cough medicine never did much other than taste vile and cause my system upset! Not a big caramel fan (dad is) but those always helped soothe my throat and were tasty. I also found Jell-O chocolate fudge pudding extra good, too ;) Prayers Lil Joe and Lou Lou feel all better this week ahead.

Late night for me quick stop in. Hugs, Bobbiwoz and I am so happy to hear you have some fun trips planned! You have been through so much lately that I extra pray your travel will be filled with joy all-around. Thank you for the dog movie thumbs or rather, paws, up! I have it set to record next weekend.

Sweet dreams, everyone!

Good morning. It is 37 now expected to go into the 60s. Cold start and warmer afternoon.

Off to make coffee and start work. One thing I will look at once I am settled and hopefully doing a bit better is retirement. I need to keep busy so I will work for a while longer but thankfully I am able to retire when I decide it is right. It is a decision for a later date as I will not take it lightly.

We are at 54 supposedly going to 72, but it's cloudy and overcast.

Spoke to my older neighbor last night and will take the ride on and try to mow as much of their backyard as possible. Way in the back has a few stumps from fruit trees that were cut but the guy left the stumps about a foot of the ground.

I'll have to walk the area first to make sure there aren't any other dangers. The grass is getting thick in some areas and I don't want to mow any branches that may be hiding under the grass. Don't wish for a repair bill on my mower. His son came yesterday but I missed seeing him as I was in and out a few times, doing my own errands. My neighbor has a doctor appointment later on and I'll probably be over there about that time, as I'm waiting for it to warm just a bit more.

Son is checking to find out if their mower can be repaired. Might be worth it as the mowers are fairly high priced now. I also have to do an errand I dislike - getting gas for the mowers.

Later I'm going to Home Depot to enquire about a stump grinding machine. My other neighbor says he will do the work if I can get a machine. I have a fence section laying out there that can't be installed until the stump is removed. Might as well stay busy on this stuff before it gets into the 90ties, and beach time becomes more important.

Have a great day all, and thanks for listening to my rambling. All this keeps me busy with stuff I am still strong enough to do. I can no longer do some indoor stuff like wash walls and ceilings, clean and dust my ceiling fans and it's very difficult to clean my bathtub. I also need painting done. This is mostly due to pain in my arm and dizziness when I'm trying to look up. So I'll be looking around for some part time housekeeping help.

Good beautiful Monday morning. Sunny and stayed at 60 all night, going to 80 today. We topped out at 91 yesterday and it was too hot. Even Mr L complained that he was hot in the house. By the time he said that, it had started to cool off already outside, so I just turned the ceiling fan to high, instead of cooling the house by turning the ac on at 8 at night.

The brush pile is burned down to a small pile of ash. I just picked all the hinges, screws, nails, etc out of the pile so I can put the ashes in a trash bag for Wed pick up. We have black walnut trees and I don't want the ash from those branches getting into the soil.
Might till today, might not. Want to get it started at least so the rain we are expecting tomorrow can pound in the lime I am going to put down. I don't have a lot, have to get another bag Wednesday

Watched Idol last nite, my favorites are still my favorites, but now I have added Leah to the mix, lol

There's another missing name from our thread--@apirateslifeforme--hope she is well and pops back in someday to say hello--glad you are able to keep in touch with her @flyingdumbo127

Have a great day everyone
