Good cool and overcast morning from here :)

I just checked and smilies still say "loading." Oh well. I also love today's picture, Lynn, and hope you feel better!

Dad is off to Ralph's to stock up a little in case of a strike. So far there have no updates to the negotiations that began yesterday. We are, of course, praying that a strike is averted!

Wishing all of you a great day. Hooray again for baby Marty! :)

Glad Baby Marty is home.

The Disney stuff is definitely not alligators.

Still working on real estate stuff. It hurts my brain so my younger DS is also helping look.
An extra set of eyes helps. No trying to be secretive but this is not like other real estate stuff I have done in the past. It is ridiculous this time. I am ready to raise the I surrender flag and stay living with my older DS for 22 years like he told me I could.

We have had pretty strong winds for the last couple of hours. In the middle of a downpour with thunder now..and a tornado warning was issued for our area. Said storm is moving at 50 mph so hopefully it passes quickly. Both of us were taking a nap, our phones woke us with the tornado warning telling us to take cover. Every room in this house has windows, and Mr L cannot get down all the cellar stairs, so we are just staying put away from the windows . I ran out and moved the cats dishes and porch chairs to the shed, and fed them without getting totally soaked. I wanted to go look at riding mowers today,,guess that will wait for another day. That rain is just dumping down, so hard you can barely see out into the street from here.. Stay safe anyone else in the path of this thing.

Oh boy! 🙏🏻 everyone remains safe!

🙏🏻 indeed to all in the path of the storm! PLEASE take extra care and stay safe! Smilies still don't work but thanks to Pea, I was able to copy/paste the prayer hands.

Big hug and continued prayer to you, Snowysmom!

I'm waiting for a supervisor to call me from the 99 Cent Only Store Corporate office. I spoke this morning to my elderly friend Sue who will be 99 years young at the end of July! I remembered in years past the 99 Cent Only Stores were offering a 99 second shopping spree as a birthday gift to anyone turning 99 that year. I am pretty sure this promotion was YEARS ago but after sharing about it with Sue, who loved the idea, and I know would have the fun spirit for it, i decided it couldn't hurt to ask, so I will. God-willing Sue would be able to at least be present at the store while someone in her family did the actual shopping if need be. I think having a fill-in shopper was an option. We shall see. Of course, I hope Sue would be able to do this :)

Dad did stock up bigtime at Ralph's this morning. He was able to talk with an employee who we've become more personally friendly with over the years. She said she didn't think there would be a strike. We're sure keeping that good thought in prayer. There's yet to be an official update on the negotiations.

Still gloomy and cool here this afternoon. Cookies warmed and sweetened the apartment right up :)

Please stay safe and be cozy, friends! I'll check in again later on.

Its heading your way :( Most of it missed us. The winds died down, it poured, 3 cracks of thunder and now the sun is out~

We have a severe thunderstorm watch for 9pm tonight. right now it's 69 and windy, but it was very windy in early afternoon. They keep talking rain but we've had very little.

Carol, so glad that Baby Marty is home!

Lynn, glad to hear that ya'll are okay. We had a storm overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning with a tornado watch. An EF1 hit eight houses at 4:45 am Wednesday morning about six miles from us. And today there was a grass fire about three miles from us that went right up next to an elementary school before it was put out. We under an extreme drought classification.

Mona, I hope that your friend gets a shopping spree. What a nice thing for you to check on it.

Today has been sunny with a light wind with temps in the low 60's. It's supposed to drop down into the 40's tonight.

I went to the grocery store today and Kroger had very few shelfs empty. The Tyson Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets space was still empty as was the regular Cremora. I did notice that the 18 count Kroger eggs went up a $1 since last week.

Dinner tonight was Marcos pizza.

We were due for a chance of T-storms around 4:30, and then around 10 or so tonight.
Around 4:30 it rained hard for a moment or two, but was done by 4:35. A tad windy, and had remained pretty windy this evening.
Now they are saying the T-storms are coming later around 11 now. But, we'll see. Either way, I'll be asleep so no T-storms on the porch for me.
I can feel it getting cooler though, but the wind getting strong = our direct TV going wonky, so hopefully we have something worthwhile on the DVR -
I love a good thunderstorm, and a good snow storm for that matter, but I'm just ready for some steady warm weather at this point in the year.
I'm inspired to/thinking of a bit of a household update. Starting with painting the kitchen, except I'm unsure of colors. I think I'm going to get a few paint samples and think on it. Might even extend the painting into the sitting room and beyond....luckily for me my husband both loves and is good at painting. Kitchen is a mauve color currently - honestly I'm not sure what I was thinking when I originally picked it out!

Carol - hope Marty is having a good first 24 hours at home....and him Mother & Father are okay, too!

Late night sweet dreams wish to all of dear you.

Kirby, prices at Ralph's have gone up a lot, also! Do you get emails with extra coupon offers? Dad does and usually once a month he gets a free product along with bonus extra coupons. Thank you for your kind words about Sue. 99 has yet to return my call.

Big prayers that all of you stay safe tonight and are able to get some good rest! See you in April :)

Good morning, It is 55 and raining here now. Temps re supposed to stay around 55 and the sun should come out. I took a walk after supper last night and the wind was so strong it was pushing me back.

@lynxstch Glad the bad weather passed by quickly.

Maybe some news on my house today. We shall see. I am very stressed and anxious about the whole thing.

Time for coffee and then work.

Have a good day.

Good morning. Thankfully the storms passed with no damage except a lot of rain and a couple of downed branches. Can't believe our power didn't flicker, or go out, in all that wind. It was really scary wind around 3:30 in the afternoon. 43 outside now, and only going to 46. The temps are bouncing around like a ball this week~
@Snowysmom--hope that you get some house news, and condo news today. You have to be so stressed about both!
@easyas123--when your husband is done painting your kitchen (and other rooms)..send him here. We need all of ours painted, including the ceilings. I don't mind painting, but there is just too much of it that needs to be done for me to do it by myself.
@flyingdumbo127--prices on almost everything have gone up, and will continue to. I get excited when I buy something that is actually the same price as it was the week before, lol
@Kirby--that is awful about the tornado hitting 8 houses so close to you, and the fires, and the drought. Hope that things turn around out your way and you get some nice weather soon!

Hoping to get to the lawn mower place and look at riding mowers today. They got 4 in of the model I am looking at Tuesday, and when I called during the storm yesterday, they were already down to 1. I can't get anything bigger than 42" or it won't fit through the wood shed doors to keep it during the summer. Lowes last week had 16 of the John Deere that is my second choice, Wed they were down to none, and yesterday it said there would be 16 there today. Lowes offers free delivery, the other place doesn't. But the other place does all their own warranty and repair work and offer a longer warranty. So debating if the $300 to $400 difference and the delivery charge are worth it

Have a nice day all

Happy Friday! :)

It was 80 degrees here 2 days ago, this morning we had snow flurries, back to being cold again :(.

Ran some bbq pork and green beans to my aunt yesterday and stayed for a little visit. My cousins are having a surprise 90th bday party for her tonight so I'm going to stop by before I head into work. We're having a girls lunch for her right before her bday and she's so excited for that, it will be all the girl cousins.

Pick up my $1 wave petunias today. I'll keep them in my garage until I plant them next month. In past years, I would bring them outside during the day to sit in the sun but now that I'm back at work some of the week, I'll only be able to get them outside for a couple of hours.

I have a busy day today. First of all I'm working from home, I need to pick up my flowers, I have a laundry scent test to do at 2:30, my aunt's party which starts at 6:00 and I need to be at work #2 at 9:00 pm. So much for grabbing a nap today. Luckily I did all the laundry last night, I'll just do a quick clean of the house this morning. Still deciding if I should just ask my sister to grab my flowers when she picks hers up.

Guess I'll start my to-do list, have a great day!

I have a John Deere 120 model that I got 3 years ago. I love it! When they came to cut the tree next door a couple of weeks ago, I had to move it from it's spot outdoors for it's safety. Got on and it started right up! I have it under a cover as I couldn't get it in my shed. Maybe this winter it will go into a shed, but in summer it sits under the cover. The first cover was modeled as John Deere but it is the same company as the generic cover sold at Home Depot. It died after a year and a half - literally fell apart - probably from the sun. It was still warranteed so a new one was sent free of charge. Meanwhile I bought the generic and it's in great condition. So I have one in storage when this one dies.

I shopped a JD dealer, Lowes and Home Depot. Lowes didn't carry this model number and Home Depot didn't carry one Lowes had. I had a lot of HD gift cards, so they sold it to me, cheaper than the dealer. If I didn't have the cards, I would have used the dealer.

Meanwhile, it was delivered through the dealer, who offered me the warranty work as did Home Depot but at an extra cost (all of them want the money for maintenance). I didn't buy the extended warranty because this is a lawn mower and it can be fixed locally probably cheaper or even by son in law. Most parts that might need replacing are available at Home Depot.

The model I have has a 1 step filter and oil change cannister - supposed to be easy - but it was sort of difficult to get off and on. Son in law did it. I've only needed 1 change so far as it goes by an hour timer on the machine and I will probably need it later this year.

I can't remember all the brands I shopped, but pretty much all of them. It came down to money as the deciding factor but if one had stood out, I would have invested. But the JD s120 was probably a winner all told though many were close in the same range of $2K. Just looked and it's now 2300.

Good luck! One thing, at the dealer they allowed me to get on one and drive it around the lot. Can't usually do that at Lowes or HD. I definitely didn't want to bring home something I wouldn't use personally and have to pay someone to drive around - not young and fearless anymore.

I got tired just reading your to do list.

Good morning everyone!

Definitely had some stormy weather here last night. A couple of chairs were knocked off the back deck, but that seems to be the only damage.

Good luck with the house and condo stuff, @Snowysmom!

There's a big blue tarp down in the back of my yard that blew in from somewhere. I'll leave it for today to see if a neighbor needs it back before I start hauling it up here.

Hi! I am catching up on reading here.
I’ll be leaving for shoulder MRI soon. I have made the decision to go with the skin cancer radiation treatments before dealing with my shoulder, except I will continue with the PT since they do seem to help. DH asked his oncologist yesterday about what she suggested about the order of my treatments. She gave her opinion, and I agree.

@Judique--thank you for the mower information. Lowes doesn't carry your model, they only carry the S100 (so does Home Depot). I am trying to stay around $2100 if possible. I do like the Craftsman 36" model on Lowes website, but I am wary of Craftsman items in general. We bought a Craftsman rototiller years ago. Got it home, it ran 1 time, and then started making this loud squealing, banging noise. Took it back, got the only one they had left, and there were 4 other tillers outside the garden dept that were marked defective. Same model as ours. We got lucky with this one as it starts on the first pull every time and we have had it since 2006. Of course you use a mower a lot more often, and it has some good reviews and not so good, but so does every other mower. Think we may try the outdoor power place first. I trust Cub Cadet and want to see the differences between the Deere and theirs. I would also buy a good cover, as I plan on leaving it outside in the summertime. I appreciate your taking the time to write all of that info down!~
