Government shutdown - flights?

Our 8 am direct flight tomorrow was cancelled late this morning. We were automatically rebooked to a much earlier flight with a tight connection. I was able to get us on a better time but had to pay for seat assignments. I could not get mobile boarding passes, so we will see what happens tomorrow.

This is a big headache.

You’re welcome, I fly out of a small regional airport on the west coast & connect through some hubs often impacted by weather, so I’ve had to learn the art of forced pivoting 😂.
The Alaskan red eye to Orlando from Seattle is AS 394 - it leaves at 11:10 pm & flies 5 nights a week (doesn’t fly Tues. & Wed..)

I just rebooked for the Friday night red eye. Thanks for the information!

And why joke when it has been repeatedly said on this thread political comments are not welcome? Know your audience.

I know it's sometimes hard (for any of us) to get context from a message, but the posts I was responding to (and the portions I quoted) were actually semi-partisan. I'm not saying they crossed any lines, or that I had any problem with them. I was just attempting to refocus by pointing out that (in this context) my only interest is getting to start my vacation in Disney.

This forum is precisely the audience for that message! :-)

You took a sentence and tried to make it into something it wasn't is what you did.

It’s open now!
If you're referring to the government it's not. I keep seeing you say it's open or the shutdown is over but it's actually not open nor over. It has to go next to the House "as soon as Wednesday" (at least according to the CNN article). Can we maybe try and actually wait until the President signs it signaling it's actually over to say it's over on the threads? Meanwhile for everyone else they are still impacted by things and will be still impacted by things even after the President signs it.

Today my DISer friend left our airport with a minor 15-20 or so min delay but experienced a 4 hour+ delay as his connecting airport STL to get back to Orlando. Our home airport, not impacted by the required reductions still experienced (due to other flights having impacts, mechanical issues, etc) 92 delays and 22 cancellations as of 7pm central time tonight.

Its open till Jan 30. If you have flights after Jan 30, then we get to open up this thread and have more fun.

We’re at the airport waiting for our rebooked flight. It’s already delayed but not too bad at currently 15 minutes. Fortunately our connection is delayed by 30 minutes.

Security was a breeze even though our TSA line was very thorough. I think a lot of people avoid flying. Our airport transport driver told us he got a lot of cancellations in the past few days.
