@Bianca and Bernard. Hope your back feels better. As a fellow back pain sufferer,,I know what you mean about trying to find a comfortable spot to sleep in.

Sun is out, temp is 52. We had to stop at CVS and get 3 scrips, drop off some papers at the hospital. By the time we got to Aldi's, at about 10:15, the parking lot was almost empty, very weird. Got the stuff I needed, went right through a register,,and headed across the highway to Walmart, which was packed! Once again, no canned cat food..and most of the frozen potato row was empty. And the dry pasta is still MIA, but I got everything else on my list, and more, lol

Dinner is going to be chicken thighs baked with Chic Fil A Polynesian sauce, some kind of rice or noodles, and a spinach salad.

Have a nice afternoon

Good Afternoon!

Warmed up to 50 today. Nice to see the sun shining.

We saw the doctor today and my husband's foot is healing. Still off it as much as possible and NO show other than the surgical shoe but it is a step forward. Kepp those prayers coming. While at the doctor's office my one daughter called. More positive news as they now think they know what has caused his strokes. It's genetic so I told my daughter to ask if the kids should be tested. Better to have a plan in advance than when it is to late.

I needed some therapy when I came home so I painted the upstairs hallway. It will need a second coat as I didn't have a ton of that paint left but it does look brighter. I had this insane idea to paint my house teal. Dark teal and a little lighter teal. I love the color but it was too dark for the house. I went with the lighter gray that I did the kitchen and I think it will be so much nicer. I can always get some throw pillows to bring color into the rooms. I now have one room with a ceiling. At this rate I am hoping I didn't waste money renting the paint sprayer for this weekend. I am a little upset with my grandson and his uncle. I know he has other obligations and a part time job but I am paying him a decent wage for this work and he is coming out for 2-3 hours a day. I'm not happy because the furniture is in and there is still a lot to do in 9 days. Hopefully over the weekend he will get moving.

My husband decided I am too stressed so he "ordered" me to book a solo vacation to Disney for the Food and Wine Festival. I may take him up on it. He thinks it helps me destress and also gives me time for just ME! I am thinking about it.

Dinner tonight will be something simple. I'm thinking spaghetti with the sausages I bought yesterday or fried pierogies. I'll let my husband choose but probably the spaghetti.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

@TazDev Glad you have some positive news on DH's foot. Maybe a trip to Disney is what you need to destress. Your DH is very thoughtful.

I met with the real estate agent and I really like him. I also looked at a condo near my younger DS. It was awful. My DS came along with me and the agent. DS said it looked like an extended stay place. After I told the agent what I thought of the condo he told me he did not like it either. It is in a busy area of a town near DS. Parking is hard to come by for anyone visiting. There is road noise heard in the condo. The kitchen was nice but the rest was just generic. Now I am wondering if I am going to find what I like. I am beginning to think of looking at 2 floor townhomes as they seem more like a house and more homey. I am going to sign with him. His contract is voidable. He requires a contract because it is needed to list it on MLS. He said we can do a contingency that I need to find a place. Plus he said I can change my mind at any point, unless I sign an offer that have a specific date on it, and decide to stay in the house. I never say never. I will say I am a bit confused now but it looks like more stuff is coming onto the market so maybe that will ease my confusion.
Thanks for the good luck wishes.

Morning all. Ok, really afternoon all, because I swore I hit send on this earlier, but apparently I did not!

Well, our weather has turned warmer. It's 54 at 9am, and will be 75 today; we'll be in the 80s later this week. We'll see if the a/c system is working or not, lol.

@bobbiwoz I am not a numbers girl. LOL I love Wordle (and other word games too), but numbers and I don't get along.

@Snowysmom Lots of luck with the real estate agent.

--------------------------------------------
I didn't get anything I planned yesterday done. I'm not sure if I tweaked my lower back again (like I did when I fell in July) or if I might be getting a kidney infection, but yesterday after I posted, my back started hurting so bad. I went and soaked in a hot tub for an hour (kept adding more hot water), sat with a heating pad and a bag of frozen peas alternately on and off, and drank about 100 oz of water. Popped tylenol (all I had) all day too.

Slept only on my sides last night, instead of on my belly, and kept waking up and turning over and over, trying to keep my back/legs/hips straight and aligned.

This morning, I'm still hurting, but the pain is now a dull roar instead of shout. Still not sure where the pain is from. I'm taking it easy though, and will drink another gazillion oz of water, and will keep alternating hot/cold when I'm sitting today.

I did get the extra spices into new organizers that came in from Amz yesterday. I also got the rest of my pantry organized with more new containers, and put away the boxes of cleaning supplies. I still have to scoop the cat litter, and move my computer area around, so that I can get the new screens up (to block off the cat litter area), but I'm not sure if my back is going to cooperate. That may need to wait until tomorrow.

Dinner tonight is a beef stirfry (fresh veggies, and I have sliced steak sandwich meat to use up). I had leftovers from Monday's vegetarian dinner for lunch.

If you have a TJ near by, I have discovered I love their French Onion mac n cheese (frozen). At first I was all, weird, but then it clicked. Also, love their Tzatiki dip (but not the Green Goddess...that was too Greek yogurt dry texture/flavor for me); we had it with Monday's dinner and it was really good.

Ok, I still need to shower (ugh, and it's already 2pm) so I'd better get moving again. Have a good day!
So sorry to hear you are hurting. A dull roar sounds doesn’t sound much better, except its in the right direction. I hope you continue to improve.

Today I walked with my cane in my right hand around the outside of our building. My right wrist isn’t as strong as my left, and the hand itself has more neuropathy issues, which is why my left hand is more reliable.

I was a math teacher, college instructor and so math is my stronger suit. Since pandemic I try crossword puzzles, and feel the way many of you describe yourselves doing the math puzzles.

Here in south Jersey we have an Aldi’s in the same general area as a Walmart too! Pasta is plentiful here.

Lynn, hug, sorry you are still having trouble finding cat food. I'm glad you got the rest of your shopping done and hope you can enjoy a quieter day at home tomorrow, errand and house-cleaning free!

What a thoughtful and caring DH you have, Taz! ITA with him that you do need some FUN and R&R time for yourself!

Hug, Snowysmom, I am very grateful you do like your real estate agent. From what you shared, it does sound like a one-story condo is still the ideal choice for you. From your description, the place today didn't sound homey at all :( Extra prayers the next place is a whole lot better! You truly will know, I believe, that somewhere is home.

Prayers continuing to you as well, Bobbi! Please take care!

I was in TJ's today and I looked at that French Onion Mac n Cheese twice, then moved on without it. Maybe I'll try it next visit.

I did get a spatchcocked lemon chicken and I'm going to put it in the oven in a few minutes. I also bought asparagus risotto, some gorgonzola gnocchi and a package of some kind of potato and veggie combo. Will let DD choose a side. We both like the chicken and DD may just want plain rice. I'll probably make some other frozen veggies as I need my veggies. Speaking of veggies, before I went over to TJ's, I went online to read what products they were highlighting. I saw 'Ready veggies' and they looked like just what would work for me.

By the time I was in the store I was convinced in my own mind that this was a frozen item. Searched all the frozen stuff and didn't find the veggie combo of broccoli, kale, cabbage, sprouts, carrots and snow peas. Gave up and when I got home, I checked the item again and of course it was fresh. Hadn't even looked in the fresh section.

So, I'll make frozen costco veggies.

Happy Hump Day!

Many prayers for all who need them. Many thanks for the hugs, prayers and good wishes for my/DH's family. We head down to San Antonio tomorrow around noon. DD asked a neighbor if she could watch Lou Lou so we could leave. I'm feeling this pressing need that we need to get down there. We hope to arrive in time to at least say goodbye before she passes away. DH's younger sister is driving from North Carolina. She should arrive tomorrow too. We're don't expect her to last much longer but you never know.

DH has been hanging around the house the last couple of days. He's been working on plans and proposals but I know he's sad, he's not one to show his feelings. Lou Lou has loved having him around. They were playing with building blocks yesterday and Lou Lou told him that he was being difficult. 😄 He asked her where she learned that word and she told him from her teacher.

On my visit to Costco Sunday I picked up a container of their rotisserie chicken salad. I love their chicken salad, it's so good by itself but I sometimes add grapes, apple, walnuts or almonds to it. I've had it every day for lunch this week and I believe that I'm good for quite a while.

We're expecting a cold front to blow through over night and of course the severe threat is scheduled from 3:00 am to 6:00 am. Fun, fun, fun! The likelihood of a tornado is minimal but it only takes one.
Dinner tonight is going to be Marcos Pizza. I've already placed our order and will go pick it up about 5:30.

I'll check back in next week.

Enjoy your dinners, Judique and Lynn :)

:grouphug:🙏Kirby for safe travel, and comfort my friend, to you and your DH. I absolutely pray you arrive in time and that her transition to the Lord will be most peaceful. Know we all send our love and care.

Dad's waist pack that we got at in early December 2020 tore in part :( Thankfully he can still use it until a replacement comes. We will order one this evening on Amazon. We like it because it has 3 full zippered compartments. 2 in front and one in the back (that he wears against his waist so its hidden) It has kept money, etc. much safer so we are grateful for it. I remember being so thankful dad came around to getting it at last (after at least once losing money from a pocket)

To any of you who doesn't use a purse, I'd absolutely recommend right a waist pack over a pocket. I have shared this before but because, of course, I love all of you and would feel terrible should this ever happen to any of you, it's worth doing so again. Should you ever get a waist pack, remember to NEVER leave it in a shopping cart! Keep it on you or in the hands of a loved one at all times! WAY back in the early 2000's, I was at Ralph's with my dad after we both had gotten off work. The waist pack was left unattended in the top part of the cart for less than a minute (I was in the restroom and dad was looking at something in the aisle). That brief period of time was all it took for someone to steal the waist pack with valuables inside :( Ralph's never did find out who took it. I pray whoever did is at a much better place in life now then they may have been back then. Be careful friends with your money, etc.

Please do keep my new dentist visit in prayer for early tomorrow morning. I will post when I get home probably by 10:30 at the latest.

Have a cozy and good evening! 🐥

Good morning. It is 48 degrees and going up to 54. Wow! The weather here is crazy.

Time to go make coffee and get ready for work. My mind is full of thinking about my house and selling it as well as can I find a condo that speaks to me. Decisions are not easy. Whenever I tell one of my DS's about maybe staying in the house they tell me why it is not a good idea. Actually there are lots of good ideas why I should not and cannot stay so it is just a thought. I can't be chopping ice, shoveling snow, look around the house and not see Chris or even Jasper, and the windows on the first level are right at the ground and it makes me nervous. Plus there is alot of work to do like replacing a couple of floors, toilet, countertops, rugs, paint the house etc. I find that daunting. Plus I would not be doing it with Chris. It really is better for me to start my new chapter elsewhere. Chris was a big fan of that and said that many times when we lost loved ones or dogs. I have to remember that. It is just a hard time of life right now. I think if I could find the condo that speaks to me I would be fine. I am looking at townhouses now as well as one floor condos. Sorry for the downer but I am feeling a big down today, more than usual.

Morning all.

Just having a cup of coffee, then I'm going to move the office area around and clean the litter box. I need to sweep the whole house today, and spot mop the open areas, clean the bathrooms, and then a shower, and wait for my 4 packages to come in. LOL

Change of dinner plans last night. DH messaged me and asked how bad I was hurting; at the time, it had kicked back up to a 6 or 7, so he said we would go out to dinner, so I didn't need to cook. Ended up at La Nopalera; he had some combination platte with a taco/tostada/enchilada/and other stuff, and I had a combination fajita platter. Then he took me to Brewsters for ice cream (it's in the same shopping center) and I had a banana split (without strawberry sauce, had marshmallow sauce instead); well, some of it, the rest is in the freezer. Dinner didn't sit too well last night, along with the back ache, so I was up at 3am.

So tonight, we're having the steak stir fry, and tomorrow is something with pork tenderloin.

Ya'll have a good day!

No apologies! What you're feeling seems very normal for the process. I do think you'll find the right place.

Happy Thursday all! :mickeybar

After a beautiful, but very windy day yesterday, it is pouring down raining today. It got to 64 yesterday and today it will be much colder.

Snowysmom - good luck on the house hunt. Maybe you could find a 2 floor townhouse that would still have 1st floor living. That way you really wouldn't need to go upstairs for anything.

Bianca and Bernard - ugh, a sore back, that's the worst. Glad you are treating it with heat/ice. I would definitely leave the unpacking until the weekend. I get that you want everything unpacked and put away, but you need to rest that back.

tazdev3225 - book that trip!!!!:earsboy: Sounds like you need some time away.

Just watched the Olympics last night and then switched over to The Amazing Race. Took some ravioli and cookies up to my aunt yesterday after work. Stayed about 30 minutes and visited with her. She's finally accepted that the Bengals lost the Super Bowl . She was making me laugh when she told me that she didn't talk to anyone until Monday afternoon because she was depressed about the game.

Making salmon tonight, will probably put broccoli with it. Need to get my Kroger order in so I can pick it up tomorrow. Have a great day!

@Snowysmom--- :grouphug: --we are having the same nutty weather as you are. 48 outside now, going to mid 60's. High wind alerts from 6 pm tonite till 6 am tomorrow..guess the cold front is moving in. Then it's back to being chilly till Sunday, then back to 60's by Monday.
Calling for rain all day today, that probably is why my knees and back are aching. So are Mr L's.

I plan on doing a lot of what @Bianca and Bernard is doing today, cleaning, lol!

Off to figure out dinner so I see if I need to thaw something.

Have a nice day
