How lovely it was to take a nice warm shower last night! I sure won't ever take hot water for granted again! Slept well, too, so thankful!

Hugs, Carol, and much prayer for both you and your DH along with your friend and her DH, too. I’m glad you both have a friend to keep each other company albeit through texting today. We are here for you and always care, too! I just read your update that all went well, praise God and that you got to enjoy breakfast afterward that’s great. I need to get back into daily Bible reading. I will PM you.

LOL, PollyannaMom, you could write a story about the adventures of your mischievous kitties! I wish all of you a good Tuesday!

Hug, Lynn. I’m so sorry sleep is still evading you for the most part. Have you tried taking a later evening shower or bath (I believe you enjoy baths unlike me lol) or even having hot cocoa or tea? I’ve heard those things can be soothing and rest inducing. Prayers PT Matt will stay in touch with you and Mr. L!

Yikes, Taz and a big group hug to you, my friend, what a morning! Prayers for a much more relaxing rest of the day for you and your DGD! I just read your additional post and sure pray you geta break later, too! Also that all goes well with your trip. I know that can't be easy on either you or your DH.

Congratulations in advance to your son and you, too Mom, on his upcoming wedding. Hug, thanks for being a good extra mom to your other son’s friend!

I felt the same way, Easyas after reading Taz’s post! LOL, okay so you and PollyannaMom (and any other Quacker) could join together to write a story or book of animal antics! That would be a fun read indeed. I could write about Champ and the graham crackers, his popcorn dance, and even how in later years he found comfort and enjoyment in Gerber’s toddler food and scrambled eggs. I’m sorry you have such a later evening appointment. I’m glad you have tomorrow’s dinner to look forward to :)

Happy Tuesday to all! I will check back later.

Really slipping thread! Giving us an afternoon boost :)

Good mail today. Thank you PollyannaMom for a while ago pointing me to an old fashioned gooseneck lamp on Amazon, I believe that very lamp or one similar came today. I also got another Amazon ordered item plus a really sweet card through the mail.

I just be further along in my transition--more warm and cold flashes. Oh well, the sooner the healthy end to time of month the better, lol! :)

:hug:to all.

We got to 75 today...going down to 53 overnite. Matt was here for his last visit and discharged Mr L from PT. Jane, the head honcho will be here on Thursday to fully discharge him from home care. They gave us a lot more time than we thought,,and it did him a lot of good. I did laundry, cleaned litterboxes and gathered trash. Just made dinner and did dishes, and my back is insisting that I stop for the day. Mona, I have tried a hot bath, hot cocoa, hot tea..nothing seems to help. One night Nyquil seems to work, the next it does nothing. I hope that I can sleep tonite

Sweet dreams all

Happy Wednesday :flower1:

Back up to the 80's all this week. I'm kind of tired of this back and forth. I still have my AC on :headache::oops:! I tried turning it off the other week when the highs were in the low 70's but the house never cooled down so I turned it back on. I NEVER have my air on this late in the year. So much for getting a couple of months for free >:(. I have budget billing so if I over pay for the year, I normally don't have a bill in January & February so it balances out. Not this year!

Baked some salmon last night. I bought a couple of sides from the cafeteria at work yesterday and didn't finish all the sauted mushrooms. They were really good so I brought the left overs home and Ds3 ate them. I made the mistake of thawing out the fish and when I went to bake it, I noticed there were 4 pieces in the bag and not 2 like I thought. I was so mad at myself for not reading the bag. Luckily Ds1 & soon to be wife stopped by to grab his tools and they took the other two. I would have ate it again tonight but Ds3 wouldn't have so I didn't want to waste them since I couldn't refreeze them. Wow, that was a long story about fish! :mic:

Got all my steps in yesterday at work so I didn't walk last night. I ended up taking the test for my class. I like to get them out of the way so I don't forget about them at the end of the week.

Well my boss just walked in so I guess I need to hop off and look busy with office work :rolleyes1.

Hope everyone has a good day! :sunny:

Good morning I-- am late again. Went to bed at 10--back ached so much , even with tylenol and icy hot, that it was almost midnite before I got comfy enough to fall asleep. Woke at 4, fed cats, took more tylenol, went back to bed. Finally fell back asleep at 6:20 and woke at 8:20. Have to try the back brace thing again today..but I tried last week and it bothered my stomach and didn't seem to help my back :(

My goals for the day are to drive the trash down to the street, get it out of the car and onto the driveway. Put a chicken in the crockpot for dinner (haven't felt like cooking much lately), color my hair, and change the PUR pitcher filter. Maybe I can manage those 4 things without aggravating my back more.

lol @footballmouse..thank you for the long story about fish,,I needed that this morning!

Have a nice morning all

Prayers you did sleep well last night, Lynn! I am so proud of Mr. L and thankful he has indeed come so far, my friend. Just read your extra post :( I just feel so badly for dear you! Big prayers all-around, especially for your back to feel better! I love PollyannaMom’s Matt idea!

What a beautiful picture, Taz! Glorious work of the Lord! Thank you for sharing with us.

I’m sorry it’s still so hot for you, Footballmouse! As I have said, I’ve known late Octobers here that have seen 100+ degree weather. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be near 90! Glad your tests are out of the way and prayers you did well, I’m sure you did just fine, my friend :)

Happy Wednesday (feels later in the week) to each of you! I'll check back in later.

What to have for dinner? This evening's candidates include some pot stickers in pork, chicken & Korean beef OR french dips. What will it be? That will probably be up to the eldest, whom we are mercy feeding this evening.

Trailers are here, port a potties are in the field and the picking crew will be here bright & shiny tomorrow morning...grapes are ready to be harvested.

I put a whole seasoned chicken in the crockpot this morning. Having that with stuffing and cranberry sauce and maybe acorn squash. Will have leftovers for chicken salad, and will make stock with the rest of it.
Sister in law did shopping for me today, and only managed to take 5 hours..lol!
Got everything on my list done except color my hair..and I don't dare my back to do that now..tomorrow it shall be
Have a nice evening everyone...oh..and @easyas123..I vote for french dips!

What kind of grapes do you grow? My mom has a grapevine in her back yard and she makes jelly with hers. I think my brother would love to get his hands on them for his home made wine but mom has to many people in line for a jar of her jelly. We always joke that she should have been born on a farm in the 1800's. She loves to head to Lancaster in the spring to smell the manure! I swear I was adopted, I can't be bothered with making jams and putting up tomatoes and peaches. No way do I like the smell of manure in the spring.

Dinner for us is easy tonight. My daughter bought 2 taco making kits from Sams Club and only used the one. She gifted me the other one today. I'll make a can of refried beans to go with it.

Cleared out most of the dining room table, it still had things piled from when the kitchen was done. I even found most of the catch all shelf in the entry. Now if I can figure out what all the cords and wires belong too. That will be a project but I think I am going to figure out a way to label them so I don't have to keep dealing with them. Now to convince my husband to throw out the Sirius receiver he bought years ago. I'd rather get a new one if I ever get Sirius, but I can't see paying for something I won't use that often just so he can listen to his 60's music. He has an IPod for that. He downloaded his music to my IPod and it drives me crazy. He has multiple versions of the same songs. He even has the Beatles in German. His music taste ended when the Beatles broke up but when it comes to 60's music he is an Idiot Savant. I finally got him yesterday on something he didn't know at first, then he remembered I was Right.

Hope everyone has had a nice day.

Hi all.

PT this morning followed by the grocery store, again. Stopped by the nail salon to make an appt for next week. Went to the mall after lunch. DH had an appt at the Apple store and we went to Target and bought several things. Stopped at the liquor store and Wawa for free coffee on the way hope. Starting to pick up things we will need on vacation.

Dinner tonight is hamburger for DH and hot dog for me with sliced tomatoes and cole slaw. Lots of TV tonight.

the kind you drink🍷, not jar;). We grow several types.

The kind that would give me heartburn lol. I haven't found a wine that I really like yet. I tried a Riesling last year and had heartburn for 3 days. My daughter says I have a cheap palate since I only like a good Guinness now and again.

Good morning, everyone! Up early hear thanks to a couple of hungry kitties, but I like the quiet for a bit in the morning before DH is up, so it's all good.

Now if I can figure out what all the cords and wires belong too. That will be a project but I think I am going to figure out a way to label them so I don't have to keep dealing with them.

I use those plastic bread "ties" sometimes:

He has multiple versions of the same songs. He even has the Beatles in German.

That is so cool! I do listen to other stuff too, but I own CD's called "Beatles for Babies" (Beatles tunes on music-box type instruments with no words) and "Beatles for Kids" (a bunch of kids singing Beatles songs) that I used to play for DS and then for the twins I watched. The kids one made for great sing-along car music! :rotfl:

Good Thursday morning :flower1:

Went to Ds1's soccer game last night. They won quite handedly, he is the goalie and had a shutout so I know he was happy. He's played soccer since he was in preschool and I've never missed a game in all those years. When he was in grade school I started working nights. I would grab an hour of sleep while they warmed up and a quick nap at halftime but I never missed a game. When he was in the Army he was stationed in Alaska. I sent his cleats and a soccer ball to him because he found a soccer field on base. He eventually found a recreation league to play in and would let me know how his games went, that's when I realized that this was the first time I wouldn't see his game :sad1:,. I was really depressed about it but then he told me that he also realized I wasn't there. He said it was kind of weird.

Watch Survivor last night. Love that show and love me some Jeff Probst. My sister and I have been watching from the beginning (2000) but she's not a diehard as I am. I record them and then go back and watch them again after it's over. I might have a problem.

Didn't make dinner last night, Ds3 just ate leftover ravioli. Not making dinner tonight either. My sisters are going to the Darius Rucker concert tonight and I'm going to drop them off so they don't have to walk so far. Two of my sisters are dropping a car off earlier to get a good parking spot. I was planning on going until I found out we were on the field. This is a charity concert being held at a high school on the football field. Anyway, there isn't any seating on the field and there was no way I would be able to stand for 3 hours. My back would have been hurting so bad, I probably would have been in tears, so I had to back out. I'm going to get my front yard cut before I take them down and then just grab some takeout for me and ds. I'll cut the backyard tomorrow since I'll be working from home.

Well that's my story so I guess I'll get back to work now. Have a great day! :sunny:

Good morning QUACKers..bright and sunny out, which I found out when I finally opened my eyes at 8:30. I had Mr L put icy hot all over my back around 9 last nite. Went to bed at 10 and nothing hurt, nothing ached, no coughing etc. Fell asleep watching Suvivor,,and slept till 3. When I woke up back was aching again. Fed cats, took tylenol and went back to sleep from 4:30-8:30.

Don't plan on doing much today, and hubby has last PT appt and discharge. So it will be an exciting 21'st Anniversary day for us--not lol!

Made that chicken last nite with stuffing and cranberry sauce and neither of us were hungry enough to eat much of it. Not even planning on making anything special tonite. Wanted to do crabcakes, but until our appetites improve, there isn't any point in wasting good jumbo lump crabmeat. Sister in law just asked me if I wanted her to bring me a birthday dinner tomorrow nite, and as lovely as it sounded,,my appetite isn't good enough yet to do so.

Have a nice morning all..more later
