Good morning.

Another beautiful day here.

DH had a PCP appt this morning for a BP check. Once he gets home we are headed down to Cape Henlopen. Bikes are already on the car. Too cool for swimming but we may sit on the beach and read a bit after the bike ride, Had to check with DS to make sure the President wouldn't be on the bike trails. That is where he rides when he does.

@AuntieMe3, that cake looks spectacular!

I made chocolate mint brownies for DD to pick up for her DH's birthday yesterday. This is a google picture but exactly what they look like.

Apparently Carter really enjoyed them. He isn't talking yet but knows some sign language. She sent me a video and he clearly signed "more".

QOTD: What is your go-to drink, and how often do you drink it?
I enjoy beer. Usually not IPAs but wheat beers and ales. I like trying local beers when we travel. I will drink wine, I like the lighter fruity, sweeter ones. For hard liquor, only when we go out like a wedding, not a fan of gin but like rum or a margarita. I sound like a real lush but maybe have one drink a week. Too many WW points.

Good morning all. Sunny and bright but only 50 degrees out, was 43 overnite,,brrr..

No birthday plans for the day, I plan on taking it as easy on my back as I can. Had a heck of a time falling asleep last nite, was 2 am before I did. Woke at 4. Went back to sleep at 6 and slept till 8.

Do need to put a load or 2 of laundry in, have only washed once this week.

Those desserts look so yummy!

Have a nice morning all, will be back later to check in

QOTD: What is your go-to drink, and how often do you drink it?

I probably average about one drink a week, and choose beer or wine pretty equally - just depends on my mood. I like lighter, fruitier, white wines, and Sam Adams Octoberfest is one of my favorite beers, so now is a good time of year for me. :teeth: If I order a mixed drink, it's usually a gin & tonic.

Hi! I’m doing well, thank you for asking, I have always loved to ride a bike, but balance issues has kept me off of one for many years. Two friends have adult tricycles, and this year I have decided to try one out. I have an acquaintance who had bought one and could not pedal it, so in April, I began to rent one when I can. The first time was in Disney‘s HHI, and I stayed in the resort property but I was encouraged. Home in Cape May, there are many bicycles for rent, fewer adult tricycles, but I rented enough to be sure I could handle it.

Last Saturday DH put mine together! Thank you, Tom!

Rode along the Promenade this morning, and stopped to take this photo. My ankles don’t support me on sand, I don’t go down to water very often, but being able to see the ocean is a treat!!

Bobbi :)

Hi Bobbi!

I just ordered one for me. I intend to bring it with me to Hilton Head in November. Can you tell me what brand you purchased? I bought a Schwinn as I was completely lost with the variety. It should arrive tomorrow and hopefully the kids will assemble for me.

Used to ride a bike when I went to Hilton Head but the last few years, we just rented for the kids and I drove to the beach house. That's got to change and I need the exercise. Hopefully this will work out. Your experience is encouraging me.

Good Morning All and Happy October!

I noticed last night while checking out the Thursday night HM&M Christmas movie, that HM&M seems now be airing a new movie every Sunday night at 9. One Summer will be on this coming Sunday.

Where do all of you get seasonal placemats? Or do you? :) We used to get them at either the 99 Cent Only store or Dollar Tree, sometimes Target. It seems these days all the Fall choices are either so expensive or just not to our taste (too dark or too much lol)

Aw, that was sweet of you, Bobbiwoz, to help bring added joy to those children. Thank you.

Hug, Pea, thanks for asking a QOTD. I don’t have much of an answer since I don’t drink alcohol ever (by choice). Lol, my go-to drink is Sparklett’s water :D I’m probably one of their best customers!
How chocolate-y moist that cake looks, AuntieMe3, yum—I’d just take off the nuts! I’m so glad you had a nice dinner!

I do hope you had fun Footballmouse. Good to hear the police did a good job keeping traffic safely flowing. Hug, I’d feel likewise about the dogs. I’d want to take them all home!

Taz, now that I am much more into this time of life transition, I often feel both cold and hot flashes. Just coursings not actually long flashes so lol I don’t know what I am. I do get cold very easily or sure did last winter. :( I’m so sorry about Word, that’s awful. Thank you, thank you for being a responsible driver! This is just me, and I believe I’ve shared it on here before, but even growing up, I remember not understanding why sports arenas, for example, sold so much alcohol, knowing people would be driving home after the game. That never has sat right with me. I’ve had some experience with a relative whose behavior completely changed under the influence! Not a positive thing at all.

Carol, another tempting treat! The mint almost looks like ice cream! Aw, sweet Carter!

Happy, Happy Birthday dear Lynn! Please do something, anything, just for YOU! Much extra love and a hug!

That is adorable, PollyannaMom! Yay, Snoopy :)

Judique, I hope you enjoy your time at Hilton Head :)

I will check back later. Have a wonderful day, friends.

Hi All,
Just wanted to make a quick stop to say "hi". I've been trying to read and keep up, but I have not done a great job.

Carol-the brownies look amazing. I'm not usually a mint fan, but those are some of my fave. brownies.

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY birthday Lyn!

I have recently tried to stick mostly water or seltzer water for drinks. I had a huge iced tea habit before mixed in with a few sodas every now and again. In the interest of trying to be more healthy, I'm only allowing myself something "special" 2-3 times a week (though this week I think i've gone over a bit). I don't like coffee, but I do enjoy a frappe from a local coffee shop.

So glad its' Friday, but I feel my weekend is already over and it hasn't even really started. Just a lot of running around that needs to be done. Nothing major, just a bit time consuming.

Take care all Quackers

@taz, my DH and I are like that now, too. I used to always be cold, and him hot, now it’s vice versa. 🥴

@FlyingDumbo, I pick up seasonal placemats at either WalMart, Christmas Tree Shops, or the Dollar store, etc., places like that. But they last me a while, so it’s not a regular thing. Speaking of the dollar store, I read an article the other day that Dollar Tree (I think it was) is having to raise their prices over $1 for the first time ever. 😬 Hopefully they don’t go down on sizes at the same time like some of these places do.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend! 🍂 🍁🐥

It's always good to see you Frog when you are able to stop by :) ITA about those brownies looking awfully tasty!

Thanks, Pea. I was just talking with my friend Judy who told me the same thing about the Dollar Tree. She wasn't sure when this would happen just that it was in the works. I was not too thrilled that. A handful of years ago, the 99 Cent Only Stores did the same thing. We have many more 99's than Dollar Tree but both are super handy and for different regular items. Dollar Tree is usually better for seasonal, especially Christmas and greeting and note card selection and price--2 greetings card for $1 or a package of 6 or 8 note cards for $1. For me, Dollar Tree, has the boxed religious Christmas cards I like. 99, for dad, has some food items and we also get some wipes and other paper stuff from there. Plus it's so much more convenient. Both such fun stores to browse in :)

I hope all of you, especially birthday lady Lynn, are having a good afternoon!

Thank you all for the nice birthday wishes. It was a very quiet day.

I did laundry and rested my back for the most part. Dinner was pasta with sauce and hubby had a prime rib burger with his. At least I ate a bowlfull of it. Tried the Biofreeze, did not care for it, and don't think it works any better than Icy Hot, considering the price!

Sister in law had to go to Morgantown for the third time this week,,her husband had an eye check up at WVU eye clinic..she dropped off 3 birthday cards on the way home. Offered to bring us dinner, but we said thanks, but no thanks.

Have a nice evening all

:bday: Lynn! :bday:

Where do all of you get seasonal placemats?
I get them at Kohl's, with coupons and Kohls cash.

Had a great trip to the beach. Rode bikes 16+ miles. Ate lunch at the Rehoboth Ale House. Just happened to ride up a side street and stumbled on it. They had outside tables, no view but the weather was lovely. DH had a meatball sandwich and I had a shrimp Po Boy. Both very good, I would go back. Then sat on the beach for an hour before heading home.

Both of us were sort of full so I heated a can of Vegetable beef soup and made grilled cheese sandwiches.

Good night everyone.

One last official Happy Birthday hug, Lynn. I'm sorry about the Biofreeze but very glad you got 3 more cards and had a quieter day. Sleep well, my friend.

Kohl's is a great place for coupons and Kohl's Cash, Carol! Them and JC Penney are my first two post pandemic choices to go to for new clothes. Sounds like you had a really nice day, I'm so glad :)

'Night Everyone.

Good foggy morning. It is 50 out now, going to be 80 and sunny. Watched 1/2 of the Disney WDW 50'th annivesary special,,it was very interesting. Slept from 10:30-2,,then on and off from 3-5 and then more on and off from 6-8, but at least I got sleep. Cats weren't happy that breakfast was an hour late, but they will live

Goals for the day are get the paper, get the mail (biofreeze roll on and motrin will be there from Amazon), strip and remake the bed and do beauty routine this afternoon. Hope I can manage that much. Back not quite as bad during the day, but by bedtime it's agony.

Have a nice morning all

Watched 1/2 of the Disney WDW 50'th anniversary special, it was very interesting.

I taped it too, and watched some over coffee this morning. I love that kind of behind-the-scenes/history stuff!

I went to the twins' soccer game this morning. They were completely surprised and happy to see me, and it was super cute to watch. Then I ran errands on the way home - probably buying more than I needed, considering my new decluttering crusade, but I also successfully found half-caf coffee pods (and on sale) so that was a win.

Beautiful day.

Sitting on the porch eating lunch and now catching up on the computer. I love hearing the geese migrating.

This morning went to church to do altar guild duties and set up communion for tomorrow. Then stopped at the library. Now doing things around the house until we go down to DD's to babysit tonight.

Happy Belated birthday @lynxstch :flower3:

Congrats to your dd for the new job. I'm sure she's going to have a lot of questions for you when she brings her benefit paperwork home.
I'm sure she will and hopefully her dad will be home to help her with that, I've never had a job with benefits....lol She's so funny, she makes me laugh. I was sitting with her while she filled out her background check forms last night and she was like "why do they need this, I'm a young innocent child..." Although she's still covered under DHs (very good medical benefits) we told her she should probably still sign up for her so she could have the extra dental and vision(she wears glasses).

Yum...looks delicious and super cute about Carter.

I made ground turkey Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy and mashed red potatoes for dinner last night and OMGoodness....yum! It was so delicious. I'll share the recipe if anyone wants it, found it on Pintrest. I invited my dad over so he ate with DD and I, and DH ate later when he got home from work. I wish I would've made more potatoes because they wasn't alot for leftovers and it was so good. LOL We also shared some of the chocolate cake from the night before...yum.

DH is working this weekend(again...👎) but at least he's closer to home. He's working long hours so got a hotel close to the job to get some extra sleep time. I'll be leaving in a few hours to join him for a few nights. We'll be close to my grandma and a couple of my aunts so I can go visit while he's working.

Hope everyone has a nice Saturday.

Happy Saturday! I haven't kept up for awhile so hope everyone is doing okay.

DD is at a ELS class today hoping to take a test for an ELS certification in the near future. In case someone doesn't know, ELS stands for English as a Second Language. A lot of school districts around here require that certification now, she wants to leave the district she is currently in. They don't require it yet.

Took the kids to the local library this morning for the first time. They each got to check out two. They loved it! I haven't been to the library in a long time, I had to renew my card. I've been buying the books I read for about 20 years now. Think of all the money I've spent, yikes! While I don't plan on not buying books I might check into Kindle Unlimited on Amazon. I really like to hold a book in my hand but if KU is cheaper, I might need to go that route. Have to think about the future.

The temps are in the 80's for the next week I think. It's so nice and we had rain yesterday. We really needed it. I cut down most of my Caladiums, they were sickly looking. Need to do some maintenance in the flower beds. A couple weeks ago we paid one of our employees to spread mulch out for us. In a couple of weeks I plan to buy some pansies to replace all my spring/summer annuals. I've found that they are my best bet for the Fall/Winter. I might pick up some Mums. Kroger has some Tri color ones that would look lovely out front.

Our neighbors Halloween decorations across the street make me smile every time I leave the house in October.609515

Enjoying a relaxing Saturday! Anyone reading anything good right now? I need a new book idea :)

So glad a lot of you enjoyed the WDW special. I’d enjoy one on DL. ::MickeyMo

What a nice thing to do, PollyannaMom! I’m sure you helped brighten the twins day right up by coming as a surprise in support of them ⚽

Thanks always for all you do for your church, Carol ⛪ Have fun with your grandkids tonight :)

Visiting with extended family sounds nice, AuntieMe3. I’m sorry your DH is working yet again. Thinking about it, I may have only had a few jobs with benefits and just one (I think) that included dental insurance, too.

I so look forward to a trip to the library post pandemic, Kirby! 📚That’s wonderful that your grandkids got to go there today, more kids need to be doing that! The Googly-looking eyes made me smile, too, thanks.
