Good evening.

@Bianca and Bernard, where are you that you can go to Duck Donuts and Publix in the same trip. (You probably told me before. I should take notes.)

I'm in NE Florida. They opened a Duck Donuts over by DH's work, in Jacksonville, and we're in Fleming Island. Only Duck Donuts by us (next closest is in Daytona); but we have Publix everywhere....there are two within a 10 minute drive from my apartment.

Happy (late) 'versary, AM!

Happy Anniversary @AuntieMe3! 🌷

The only time I really shop at EBay is when I need an item that isn’t made anymore. Like a certain type of wallet I like, or silverware that matches my set, etc. Many or my purchases are with either WalMart or Amazon, normally. (And I always use AmazonSmile where a small percentage of my purchases go to a dog rescue.) This other thing was a good deal, but, alas, now I am emptyhanded. Haven’t decided whether I will order elsewhere or not. Still have a little time to decide.

@TazDev I forgot to mention the other day that if you have an iPhone, you can do Apple Pay at a lot of places even if you don’t have any cash on you. (You have to set it up on your phone.) I use it when I think of it. Sometimes I forget. But it does come in handy instead of pulling a card or cash out for small purchases on the run. Sometimes even online there is an Apple Pay button which makes life so easy. You could also check in on the Zoom meeting from the game! (If you want to. Maybe not, lol.) My favorite baseball lens was my Ziuko 50-200 - still my favorite lens ever! Always got beautiful pictures of DS and his teammates playing.

Speaking of DS, another medical issue has come up for him. Please keep him in your prayers. :worried:

Morning everyone.

The game last night was so much better than the meeting would have been. The team lost against a much better team and my grandson wasn't happy but he is such a GOOD ball player. He was directing the infield and the outfield each batter. His team school team really didn't have much of a chance this year as there were a lot of young players who had never really played before but they worked hard. What shocked me was that my grandson was put in to pitch in the last inning. He hasn't pitched in 4 years and was self taught. He did OK. Walked a few, beaned 2 but they leaned into the pitch and one I questioned. The umpire called it a strike til the other team's coach argued it. He also managed to field a grand out and struck out the last batter. I was very proud of him but very glad his father had to take him home.

My garden is planted and we laid down mulch. What a difference that mulch makes. The trees that planted on their own are cut down, the butterfly bush is trimmed and the rose bush is blooming. I feel very accomplished this morning. Now I am off to vote in our primary and I found out there is a Duck's donuts about 10 minutes from my house so I may head there to try them. That bacon donut sounds good. I LOVE bacon. There is a fudge shop I frequent when I take a trip to the Jersey shore that has chocolate covered bacon, it is soooo good.

I heard there is issues with the ballot machines so I know to check and make sure the printout says what I want. We are voting for a DA and I want the one we have GONE!!!! He is for reforms, which if they made sense I would be for, but he is very anti police and pro criminal. Our murder rate has gone up over 133% in 2 years because the criminals have nothing to fear.

@Pea-n-Me Prayers for your son. I like the looks of that lens but I like ZOOM. I am using an 18-400mm lens and do get some great shots with it. Last night I got not the best, but not the worst, pictures of a Blue Heron. Of course I was shooting through a fence and had to track it through some trees but I got it. We joke that the Heron toys with me. I first noticed them years ago when my oldest grandson was about Anthony's age. The fields were on their flight paths as is my house. They always flew by when I didn't have a camera. I am more alert for them now at certain fields.

Hope everyone has a great day. I'll post pics of the garden later today.

Good Tuesday morning everyone,

Thank you all for your chair report kindness. I'm sitting in it right now and we will see. Dad and I both agree this new chair is more comfortable for both of us than either of our old chairs. What's sad is even his current chair which I bought him a good 10+ years ago and is very hard as a rock now, is more supportive than my old huge chair. This new one fits me a hundred times better and definitely supports my back. Might have to adjust the height a bit. I think it will be a keeper :)

:grouphug:Pea and prayers for your DS

Safe travels B&B!

Taz Dev, a fudge shop sure sounds tasty! I do look forward to seeing pictures of your garden. Go your grandson :) That does not sound good about the candidate. I hope your ballot machine indeed properly works!

Today marks my grandparents 83rd Anniversary. I am thankful to know they are together at peace with God. Grandma was loyal and feisty where Grandpa was quietly kind. I will always remember how Grandma sewed for me by hand pink felt sleeping bags for my playmobile kids! I still wish I had kept them+ the toys. I know she fiercely loved me that is for sure. Grandpa had the best smile and was one of the most photogenic people I ever knew--probably because he was all heart. I have realized as an adult that in how he lived his life that Grandpa was my first witness to Christ. How Blessed I was to be cared for and loved by them and now watched over by them both as well.

Tuesday cheer to all :)

Good morning.

Beautiful here today too. Got some little jobs around the house done like putting Tupperware away from the party, folding towels from the dryer, etc. Only out of the house plan is retuning the bike seat. May go for a walk in Fair Hill.

Tomorrow, I think, DH and I are taking a ride to a nursey to get a few more plants. It is an hour away but, it will be a nice drive. Yes, there are closer places but I just want to make a day of it. (or maybe a morning)
Sounds like fun and something we would do. And we would include breakfast or lunch out too.

I'm in NE Florida.
I'll make a note. LOL I googled and found Publix and Duck Donuts near each other in Fort Myers too. We have a Duck Donuts near us in DE but no Publix.

And I always use AmazonSmile where a small percentage of my purchases go to a dog rescue.
I do, when I remember, and mine go to a dog rescue also. GRREAT (Golden Retriever Rescue Education and Training).

Accidentally bought a show from the On Demand list on Xfinity. I was pushing buttons to find a show and then it said I paid $8.99 for who knows what. I contacted Xfinity by chat and got the money refunded. :cool1:

Have a good day everyone.

Kitchen floor and both bathroom floors have been vacuumed and thoroughly cleaned. Rugs were washed and are hanging on the line drying in the sun and the breeze. Litter boxes were scrubbed and sanitized and are drying in the sun. I finally got a pkg that was mailed to me on April 24 from FL, which I had to mark 'refused, return to sender', since they reshipped it last Monday and I got it 2 days later. Just can't figure out the post office. Made grocery list, gathered coupons (anyone else notice that there sure aren't many coupons around anymore?).
Hubby is reading the instructions for the portable oxygen concentrator..it sure is a noise little bugger, and if you don't take a breath for 15 seconds it beeps..that got annoying very quickly. Only trying it for a few weeks to see if he likes it,,if not , it goes back. We still have the one with the tanks, they can't take it back as long as we have full tanks, and we still have 4, lol.

Have a good afternoon everyone..I think I am done with chores!

Lynn, oxygen concentrators throw off a lot of heat too, at least they used to.

So far it doesn't seem to be. He has it in the kitchen where it's easy for him to grab and try it out. It's in it's own case, and there are vents where the heat comes out,,not even very warm to the touch. His big unit in our bedroom does throw a lot of heat..part of the reason we sleep with the ceiling fan on and the windows open most of the time (at least till we need to turn the ac on,,which will probably be tomorrow!)

Had a wonderful day! DH and I went to 2 nurseries and a got 3 peonies and some other plants. I love Peonies and got a yellow one and one called Green Halo. I hope I don't kill them because they were not cheap. I also found a bench at Homegoods. It is basically just for decoration and won't get used much, it was inexpensive so we got it.

I should go out and plant the purchases now but ,I may wait until tomorrow, because we are supposed to get storms tonight and I don't want them whipped around too much. That sounds like a good excuse, doesn't it?

lynxstch.... Thanks for the Hayneedle suggestion. They have some nice items.

Busy day today.

We did vote and no problems. Then it was off to try Duck Donuts. I am glad they aren't closer. They were so good.

Food shopping is done, humans and animals alike will eat for the week. The garden is watered and I finally got to use my mothers day gift from a few years ago. Dinner will be light, I am thinking sandwiches or frozen pot pies. I am really tired and some muscles ae not happy with how much use they got over the last 2 days digging.

So here are a few pictures.
The heron from the games last night. Not the best but I was happy to get it.

And some pics of the flowers I planted. They are still very small but will fill the whole space nicely. I planted Dianthus, Marigolds, Verbena, Petunias, Portulacas, Salvia and a couple of other flowers. They should give me plenty of color and attract butterflies, bees and Hummingbirds along with the tiny birds that love my Butterfly Bush. I think I will have a nice summer out there enjoying the visitors. I already have had a visitor. I don't know what the plant he is on is called. I put it in last year and can't remember what it is beyond it should attract visitors, as it did.

@Pea-n-Me Sending thoughts and prayers for your son

Everyone seems so productive here. I had a busy weekend after getting back from Disney and then a busy couple of days at work trying to play catch up. I sometimes wonder why I go on vacation. I am very weary today as it has all caught up with me. We did take Jasper for his walk and we did our shorter walk and I just barely had the energy to finish that. Housework will have to wait.

Jasper had a recheck on his blood pressure and kidney levels. His blood pressure is now where it should be and his kidney values while still slightly elevated are better. He did lose some weight but he never eats well at the kennel. He is making up for it now, pigging out. He goes back in 8 weeks. I keep hoping the vet hospital opens up so we can go in with him but I suspect they will be one of the last places to go back to normal.

Mona, glad you found a desk chair that works for you. It is hard to find one that is supportive and comfortable.

Have a nice evening!

Thanks for rescuing our thread, Taz Dev. I am so glad to read you have had a good day. You really needed a brighter outing :) I’ve never been to Duck Donuts but it is a cute name. Just Googled and glad they aren’t near me either. Love that their donuts are served hot! Such lovely flower and garden pictures. Thank you for sharing. Continuing to root for your grandson.

Prayers always to you and your DH, dear Lynn.

DazedX3, Lol, I think that sounds like a very logical excuse! Glad you got some new peonies :) Googled peony and how pretty in pink they are, sort of like a fuller carnation.

Thank you, Snowysmom. I think the floor model I sat in for a couple minutes yesterday may have been a little softer. I also realize countless people have probably sat in it! I am happy with the chair I have though. Hooray for Jasper doing so well.

@Pea-n-Me prayers for your son.

Today I had a nail appt with my friend and I brought home lunch for DD and myself, just some burgers, fries, and onion rings. I only had a couple onion rings when I felt like I really needed a nap, I haven't been sleeping well so that's probably why. I ended up sleeping for almost 2 1/2 hours. Hopefully it doesn't affect my sleeping tonight.

My poor, overworked hubby had a meltdown this morning over not being home for our anniversary. I guess he decided to look to see where he was last year on our anniversary and he was out of town for work then too, so he was really mad. It takes a lot to get him riled up when it comes to work but I think him not being here with us the night my mom died, really upset him. He called his supervisor and let them know he's headed home tomorrow and is taking some days off next week. They know he's a hard worker and don't want to lose him so they had no problem with it.

Trying to look for pictures of my mom the past week, I realized most of our pics are just in photo boxes and decided to order some photo albums. I started with a three pack buy I'll probably need more. We have a lot of pictures. LOL

So anyway...that made me think of a QOTD:

How do you store your printed photos? Frames, photo boxes, albums, scrapbooks....

We have a lot of framed photos up on a wall in our family room and I scrapbooked for awhile so I have alot of scrapbooks, mostly of DD when she was younger. I only have two regular albums full of photos, the rest are just in photo boxes. I've come across so many I haven't seen in awhile so I want the albums to make them easier to look at.
