Glad you enjoyed some grandkid time, Carol.

So glad you are doing something just for you, Lynn! We are having kitchen trouble here, too. The pipes in this building (much like the building in general) have not been well maintained or updated over the years. We're currently waiting for rooters to come to unclog our kitchen sink. Thank you so much for asking. So far, Dad is doing fine. He was thankful that unlike his first shot, this one was painless for him. He was told to be prepared tomorrow for a reaction. Keeping him in extra prayer.

The sun is out a little bit here now. Still cold and feels later than it is but also timeless as well.

Trying to think of a QOTD but am coming up blank. Anyone? :)

@flyingdumbo127 Hope your Dad is doing well.

Happy Spring. It is 58 and sunny here. It is supposed to be warm for the next several days.

DH and I got our 2nd moderna doses today. I got mine in the morning while DH got his this afternoon. My arm is a bit sore but so far nothing else. After the first one I felt tired, headachy, and queasy the next day but not too bad. The arm soreness lasted a few days. DH was the same. We'll see how it goes. We didn't plan anything for tomorrow in case we aren't feeling the best.

Jasper had his semi annual vet visit with bloodwork. His kidneys results are a bit off. It could be due to meds he is on for the chronic bronchitis or it could be old age. The vet suggested a canned food for kidney issues. We are going to see if he will eat it. If not, she said to just let him enjoy what he wants. If he is not happy with what he eats it is a quality of life issue. Jasper sees the doctor who is treating him for the bronchitis in 3 weeks. Our vet has sent the lab results to the bronchitis doctor. He has already emailed me about getting a different treatment plan going for Jasper. I love it when they are responsive like this.

It sounds like everyone is busy getting ready for Spring. I am not a gardener but love to walk outside in the Spring and enjoy the gardens, flowers, and birds hopping around.

One of my favorite words is persnickety. I like the sound of it and it is so descriptive. And I have to admit to being persnickety on a regular basis which DH just loves! :D

We were able to go for a hike. Sunny and pleasant. Some trees are just starting to bud. Skunk cabbage is coming up. Spring peepers were chirping and lots of fish in the creek.

Now home and watching basketball, Maryland vs UConn.

What is your favorite word? (and why?)
I have a couple of words I like just because of the way they sound - dystopia, palindrome, Onomatopoeia.

My sister came over and we went through the last tub of pictures. We found some that we hadn't seen before. I have a lot that I am going to scan instead of keeping the physical copy. We also went through the last three tubs of breakables that were precious to my mom and sorted through them. We have a drawer and then her closet left to go. We've already been through the closet once but sort of skimmed through it, keeping a lot of paperwork to sift through later. Then I went to get my 2nd vaccine at 1:00. I've been feeling okay so far, just tired and slept for a couple of hours. No soreness in my arm like the 1st shot. I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings.

I don't have a favorite word but my dad used to say "dagnabit (dag-nab-it)" when something frustrated or upset him. I say "oh man!" quite a bit. I heard a story on the radio about a man who made up a word and his daughter thought for years that it was an actual word. I wish I could tell you what it was but I have forgotten. It was for when a lemon/lime squirted you in the face. She was at a friend's house not too long ago and a lemon squirted the friend in the face. So the daughter told the friend that she had been -----!. The friend questioned it and they looked in the dictionary to find that there was no such word. The the dad had to come clean about it. It honestly sounded like a true word.

Glad you got in a hike, Carol complete with more signs up Spring. I had to Google "Skunk Cabbage." Does it really smell skunk-like?

Hug, Kirby, prayers you continue to feel well. Glad you and your sister discovered some new to you photos.

Rooter, thankfully, did not spend much time in our apartment. He did spend a good hour next door. Our neighbor has often been problematic with her sink. So far, so good, we are most grateful.

Beyond thankful to God that Dad is still feeling okay, too.

Have a good night, friends.

Good morning--going to be a beautiful, sunny, 60+ degree spring day.

I get to take another trip to Lowes or Ace Hardware. The second bathroom toilet decided at 3 in the morning to start 'running'. The flapper is disintegrating and the bar attached to the handle is all pitted and there is a slot where the chain slipped off. At least it's something easy to fix, already have the old ones off, just waiting for later to go get new ones. I plan on doing a little Spring cleaning after that, not sure what I will get into though. The nice weather just makes me want to be outside, but hubby can't just go sit out there, or the pollen will start his allergies going like crazy.

Poor cats are confused as to why I was up so early. Hubby woke me at 3 and said 'go check the toilet downstairs, I can hear the water meter going'..he was right. The toilet was just sitting there running slightly, thankfully not all the way though! I turned the water off to the toilet, and lifted the flapper so the rest would drain out. That was when I saw how icky the flapper was. I don't think it's been changed in maybe 15 years, so I guess it's time! That will make for a little higher water bill this month, but not something I can control! I couldn't fall back asleep after that,,worrying that the whole guts of the toilet would have to be replaced,,that would mean my watching a you tube video on how to do it, or calling the plumber..I would vote for the first if that happened, lol!

Have a lovely morning everyone!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

My own answer to the word question is probably "thingamabob" - which I got from my grandmother and use for many different scenarios: forgot the word, don't know the name of the part...

Oh, and if you ask the kids, they'd probably say "extrapolate" - I'm forever looking at one, who has just done what I told another kid not to, with the raised eyebrows and saying that. :rotfl2:

Good morning. Another beautiful day.

Watched church. (Mona, I did some research and the violinist is a 14 year old 9th grader in a local performing arts high school.) Doing chores on my list this morning then going for a bike ride this afternoon.

I thought of another word my grandmother used. That I remember is remarkable because she died when I was 8. Pshaw.

Had hot cross buns for breakfast and they were yummy. Glad they are only one a year.

Enjoy spring.

Happy Sunday all!

It's a little sunnier looking outside than yesterday. Thank God, Dad is doing fine. His arm is very sore but no worse he said than yesterday. I am so very grateful indeed.

Wow, I look forward to hearing the violinist play, Carol. I love when the children and youth sing/play an instrument at church.

Lynn, I'm sorry to hear you have yet another plumbing related issue and that it got you up (eek) so very early! :(

Wishing everyone a great day.

Plumber Lynn reporting in...62 degrees and sunny out. I found a new handle and flapper at Walmart, and at a lot lower price than either Lowes or Ace (I looked online first). Came home, cleaned off the bottom of the tank while it was empty, put the new handle in, tightened it down, put the flapper chain on it..turned the water on and flushed..and it flushes, and shuts like it's supposed to. That would have been an $89 job for the local plumber, and he probably would have charged $20 for the parts, which cost me all of $8,,lol!

Making homemade New England Clam "Chowdah" (just for you @Pea-n-Me,lol ) for dinner with crusty french rolls and a salad

Afternoon all. It's in the mid 60's according to my car Thermometer and it feels so nice.

I got to see my Grandson's first baseball game yesterday, they lost, but he played well and it felt so nice to have a small sense of normalcy. I did have my mask but we social distanced. My younger grandson decided to tell me how much he hates his baseball teams name. They are the hawks and he was very upset about that. So I told him all about hawks and how cool they are. Now I have to get him a BIG book about hawks.

My son invited us for dinner last night so I got to spend some time cuddling with LJ. My husband finally got to meet his great grandson so overall a pleasant Saturday.

I went out to Walmart today to get a few things for the kitchen. My mistake. I tripped over something heading in and slammed my bad knee and bruised both my palms. I am spending the rest of the day with the knee elevated and taking my 800 mg prescription Ibuprofen. They were nice at the store and wanted to call Fire Rescue but I refused. I didn't fill out an incident report either because honestly it was my fault. I wasn't paying attention and tripped over a barrier. I didn't even get what I went for and had to cancel the stop at the grocery store. Dinner will be takeout again. I was looking forward to a nice home cooked dinner.

Oh well, I am putting headphones on and watching TV on the computer so my husband can watch his sports.

Hope everyone has a nice day enjoying the lovely Spring weather.

@Pea-n-Me I love your word list. LOL! Growing up we called soda, tonic. I still do sometimes. My kids just laugh at me.

Day after second moderna vaccine. My arm is sore and a bit swollen and I feel like I have a mild flu with headache, queasy, tired, and achy. I am glad I did not plan on anything today so I can chill out. DH has a sore arm, headache, and tired. By tomorrow I should just have the sore arm as that took awhile to go away last time. Glad it is done.

The weather is so nice here today, 60 and sunny. We did a slow walk with Jasper but that is it for today.

Lynn, I am impressed with your house fix it skills. It does save alot of money.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad your Dad is going well after the vaccine.

@tazdev3225 I hope your knee and hands feel better. It was nice that you got to cuddle with LJ.

Those are so funny, Pea! Thanks for sharing :)

Wow, great job, Plumber Lynn! I'm proud of you, my friend :)

Hug, Taz Dev, I am so sorry that happened :( I am very thankful you got to see your grandson's baseball game. What a cool Grandma to help show him Hawks indeed are cool. Hooray for LJ, too.

Thanks so much, Snowysmom, he's still doing well. Prayers you feel much, much better tomorrow indeed.
