Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Apirateslifeforme, please listen to Easyas! Treat yourself to something and take care of you! Continued prayer all-around, my friend. Easyas, you take care of yourself, too and have a relaxing Sunday!

I agree there should have been/could still be to some extent, across the nation followed criteria and protocol along with much better supply inventorying!

I was also a big Patrick Swayze fan. He came across as an all-round good guy who was quite handsome, too!

Wishing all of you a good night's rest.

I need to get up and go put the left over bacon, cheese, sage sausage, and burger from making pizza away but I don't want to get up from under the blankets where I am nice and toasty warm. So I am going to wait until I have to get up to use the bathroom and if DH has not done it do it then when I am already up. Though first thing when I go into the kitchen I am putting the kettle on for some hot water to make either some tea or hot chocolate. Too late to make some chai tea or is it I will have to decide but definently too late for either coffee or capachino being that is it already 8:30 pm.

Good morning everyone! Woke to a very thin layer of ice on everything, kind of 'skated' over to the shed to feed the outdoor cats. Supposed to go to 40+ today, will melt a lot of the snow, just in time for more this week. So tired of it!

No plans for the day, it will just be another quiet Sunday. Maybe I can get hubby to work on the puzzle with me..he needs to find a hobby!

Dinner is going to be our traditional crab cakes, have to figure out sides, and may add a steak to it and make it surf and turf for a change.

@apirateslifefor me--So you'd know the MA Veteran's Cemetery? :)
Just up the road from Six Flags? (Or what used to be Riverside Park...man, do I miss that place. So much better than Six Flags!)

Yes I know the cemetary, and Six Flags..well I knew it as Riverside Park. I loved that place when I was a kid. We lived on Meadowbrook Rd, off of River Road. I used to go there every weekend to the roller skating rink and then leave there and go through the park. I remember when they used to have live entertainment on the stage. I saw quite a few 'teen heartthrobs' from my era there. I used to love the old wooden rollercoaster, wasn't too found of the steel one--'mouse' something? That goes back a LOT of years, lol!
And DH and I used to live right on the main road a few miles north of that - right next door to McCarthy's Liquors (I only mention that because many people from Agawam know McCarthy's very well ;) ).

Was never a drinker, so I might have gone by McCarthy's Liquors all the time, but never went in there. lol
Funny , but when you mention Riverside Park, all kinds of memories of places in Agawam pop up. I can recall my elementary school- Phelps Elementary, the Junior High up the road from there, which used to be near the main police department and City/Town Hall. The old Zayres store, going way back I can remember the Toy Castle place which used to be around there somewhere. Funny how our mind can recall names of streets, bldgs, etc..yet I walk into a room now and have to stop and think what I went in there for, lol!

We're glad we still live close by and can visit Dad often. I actually think we live the closest, even though we're in the next state!

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day all--I wish you all much love and friendship--Lynn

Oh...My...Goodness...regarding Meadowbrook Rd, do you happen to know the Jackobeks? Carl and Ann and their daughters?

Full Disclosure: I've never seen Ghost!

Good morning all. No idea how much ice we got, I can see my car and the sidewalk covered, but the trees in the wood line don't look to bad, although all the grape vines are encased. Electric, heat, TV and internet all working, so by those standards I'll judge the ice storm 'not to bad' in my immediate area - mind you I've not driven out and about and don't intend to today!

As I walk around I realize how cruddy the floors are from the past 24 -48 hours of mud and rain and ice and dirt being tracked in. The dog tracks and size 12 rubber boot tracks give away the culprits, so I do think a quick mop is in order.

Dogs vetoed another morning of news, so they've put on a documentary about the Tower of Babel which is followed by something on the Dead Sea Scrolls. In a little while I'll make a late breakfast and then consider bundling up for that walk I regret mentioning yesterday!

Sorry, can't say I do..but it was also almost 50 years ago that we lived there. Although the last name sounds familiar..maybe sons/daughters/grandsons/granddaughters of someone I might have gone to school with...I looked him up on FB and can see that sadly, he passed away recently. But he doesn't look familiar to me at all...as you can tell,,I'm fairly ancient,,lol..actually 66, but sometimes feel older!

Good morning. Can't really tell how icy it is and I'm not going out to find out. DH went to refill the squirrel feeder and said the sidewalk by the garage was icy.

Full Disclosure: I've never seen Ghost!
Until last night I hadn't either. I did enjoy it.

Maybe the dogs would enjoy Ghost. It does have a cat in it that plays an important role. There is a marathon on MTV and it starts again at 10 and 1.

Dang, next week I turn 68 and was just complaining this morning about the aches and pains of old age.

Church then hopefully the lady comes for the table.

Morning all.

A bit icy here but I had the forethought to spread some salt before the storm hit yesterday so my pathway wasn't to bad. Just salted again this morning. I did tell my grandson not to bother coming today for the final walk through and to pick up the backsplash. We can do it tomorrow and hope to do all the demolition this week. As soon as he gives me a day I can call to get put on the list for delivery for the cabinets and then the appliances. I may have a new kitchen soon.

The first time I saw Ghost was with my mom in the theaters when it first came out. I enjoyed the movie but am not a fan of Demi Moore so that did take away from it a bit. I remember coming home to a complete power failure in my neighborhood in the middle of summer.

So I cheated a bit and have already seen Men in Kilts Episode 1. Can't wait to see it again tonight when it airs on Starz. It looks like it will be an amazing and fun series. I am hoping to maybe see some of the places I have visited in Scotland pop up as they go along. I LOVE Scotland and Outlander has nothing to do with it. It truly is a beautiful country.

Wow seems like there are a few of us in our 60's here. I am so tired of all the Medicare Gap calls. I turn 65 in August but I have coverage with my husbands employment for another 2 years. I will get the Medicare rather than pay the penalty but am not looking forward to the headache. Jim got it this past November since he is on Disability and the drs. visits have been an experience to negotiate.

Not much on the agenda today. May just sit and relax all day as my knee is killing me. I only have the ceiling left to paint and that shouldn't take more than an hour.

Hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day.

Its on tonite, but I looked as far as next Sunday and don't see it listed again..is it a one time thing or a series?

We actually got no calls about Medicare or Medigap before we enrolled,,but I do have a feeling it will be an 'experience'. We got a bill from his PCP this week (first claim since he got on Medicare Jan 1). There was a highlighted note saying that Medicare denied the claim, stating that his 'other ' insurance was primary? Our only other insurance is Aetna Supplemental . I called and the girl said Medicare denies every first claim,,and wants people to call and update their info. He wasn't about to sit on hold for hours trying to get someone. He managed to find an online chat on his account page, and someone was on it in 30 seconds. It took her all of 5 minutes to 'update his info', and said tell the PCP to resubmit the claim in 10 business days and it will be paid. I have a feeling this will continue for awhile. No disability involved, which must be just another pain in the neck for you to deal with :(

Take care of your knee and be careful, as we may have more ice and snow to deal with again on Tuesday, and even more on Thursday! When you are done with your house,,you can come and paint ours, lol! I am waiting for my handyman to get back from his FL vacation so he can paint the whole inside of the house, and put the new kitchen floor down.

Hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day to you also!

I have the opposite opinion of Medicare. I love it. Because DH was self employed and I haven't had benefits with a job since 1988, we always purchased our own BCBS which was expensive with a huge ($2500) deductible. So now with Medicare, we don't have a bill and the deductible is less than $200. We feel like we stuck gold. It's all what you are used to.

Good Morning and Happy Valentine's to you all with love and friendship.

Cool and windy here this morning but the sun is out. I recorded Playing Cupid last night on Hallmark and will check it out later.

Looking forward as always to watching worship service from your church Carol as I give God extra thanks for His best Valentine ever in Jesus!

Hugs to all.

I don't have an issue with Medicare per se. It is an adjustment when we have/had really great insurance with my husband's job, and it carried over for 5 years after retirement. When he had his strokes the medical bills were almost 1 million dollars based on the explanation of benefits I received. We paid about $300 out if pocket and that was for follow up visits to the doctors. I am more worried about getting gap insurance in a couple years that cover dental and prescription coverage. A couple of the meds he is on are expensive, and again we have great coverage for them also with his work insurance. We actually can keep a version of his insurance when he loses it in a couple years. It's just confusing because medicare denies bills because of the other insurance and the Personal Choice denies because of Medicare so I spend a lot of time dealing with that. And Medicare doesn't cover his diabetic supplies through who we had so that all had to change but then they charge a deductible so that has to go into our health insurance manager. It is just more time consuming.

I can't wait to see what happens with the tests the cardiologist ordered!!!

I will figure it out eventually just hate all the phone calls

@tazdev3225, yes, that sounds like a mess. I have never had dental, vision, or prescription coverage and still don't. I may add Med D for prescription someday but right now it would cost more than the meds I take. Dealing with insurance companies, as the patient or provider (we know) is a pain in the butt!

I would love to have dental insurance since I go for cleanings so often. I think the only time I've had such coverage was through one early job in my teaching career! Otherwise, it's way too expensive. I am so Blessed to not need prescription drugs. Prayers all of you with insurance issues get them sorted!

Happy Valentines Day friends. ❤ Sorry to say I haven't been keeping up very well, other than reading a post or two, here and there.

My mom is still in the hospital. She actually was discharged last Sunday but had to go back to the ER and admitted again on Monday. She's seems to be doing really well this past week but the day and half she was home, was really hard....she should not have been discharged in the first place. She still has a terrible infection they are trying to get rid of so hopefully they can get a handle on it soon.

Tuesday, I went to San Diego to stay a few days with my niece while my sister and BIL went out of town for her birthday. While I was in San Diego, hubby was headed to San Francisco for work. He was supposed to come home yesterday, like me, but they ended up needing him longer so he's still there. I really wish I could've gone with him.

DD are having a lazy day today, I ordered a cookie decorating kit I was going to take to my niece but it didn't arrive in time so DD and I will be doing them tonight while we watch a movie.

Just got back from taking the dogs for a long walk and meander thru the woods and fields. Then, since we were already outside, we measured off the area in the back yard we are thinking of fencing in. We took two measurements - one being the minimum we'd want fenced and the other being the maximum. I'll email my fence guy and get a rough quote and decide which of the two we will go with later this spring. Once we do that we will address tearing down the old brood mare/hay barn, where the dogs current fenced area is. Every time we get a hurricane or nor'easter I'm sure it's going to come down!
I did order some more bulbs, mostly gladiolus bulbs, this morning. Plus a few items for my stumpery. Last fall I planted a ton of daffodil and grape hyacinth bulbs all over the place and I can't wait to see them come up this spring!
I've got 10 lb turkey in the oven, and warned my husband to expect several turkey themed meals this week!

Happy Valentine's Day.

@easyas123 Always listen to the dogs when they say no news. They are so right. Entertainment is better.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad to hear your cable issue is resolved.

By the time we are able to sign up for the vaccine maybe Johnson and Johnson's vaccine will be ready. We would sign up for that. Our only comorbidity is weight related. Thankfully I have lost alot of weight in the past several years so it is not as much of an issue for me but more so DH. Older DS who is a physician said the J&J vaccine would be OK for us. Our state is really messed up with the vaccine rollout. We are number 49 out of 50.

We got to see all 5 grandkids this weekend. Older DS even let us into his house, wearing masks of course. That was great. I think he feels better now that he and DDIL are vaccinated. We saw older DS and 2 DGS yesterday and younger DS and 3 grandkiddies today. So happy to see them all. Other than seeing the grands nothing major going on. I have a beef stew in the crockpot for dinner.

Have a nice day!

when you are ready..check into Silver Script. We each pay $7.30 a month for it, so it's pretty affordable!

That is the vaccine we are hoping for to. MD is pretty messed up with vaccine rollout also,,at least the Central and Western parts of the state
