Snowysmom nice that you got to see the grandkids. I am still on hold with LJ. His mom is being super protective since he had the breathing issues.

PA is so messed up with the vaccine. It took my sister in law 9 hours to get my parents in for the vaccine. My husband should be getting it but he is stubborn and doesn't want it. I got him to agree to the Johnson and Johnson one when it comes out. It's the only one I will consider as I am seriously needle phobic. Having seen that 4 people in Oregon I think got the virus after the vaccine should have been effective worries me a little but I want to get back to a normal type of life again.

I am really hoping that the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is a game changer since only one vaccination is needed. It could really help. Plus, we would have 3 options out there. We need to speed the vaccination process up especially for the 65+ and people with health issues.

Good to see you, AuntieMe3. Cookie decorating sounds like a lot of fun :) Continued prayer for your Mom!

Glad you and the dogs got in your walk, Easyas and that you also got needed outside work done as well. Now stay in and warm!

Hug, Snowysmom, hooray for grandkid time :) I am also hoping as time goes on and more is learned about the virus, there will be many more, including at least one needle free, options for prevention and treatment, of course, too.

Hug to you as well, TazDev. You'll get to see LJ one of these days. He will definitely come to meet you soon. Meantime he is Blessed to have you in his life from afar!

I did watch Playing Cupid. It was such a Blessing to watch an entire movie without the cable box causing trouble! It's been wonderful both yesterday and today. The movie itself was a cute idea but I felt could have been better, more fully told. The story was of a middle school teacher assigning her class (I am guessing just ONE of her classes because we never saw any other of her students) to create their own business. This was to be an exercise both in creativity, business development, and a fundraiser for the school. I know it was a movie and there was only so much time and ability to focus on characters. I did wonder why we never got to (other than one boy briefly) see any of the other children at their "businesses" let alone hear from the other two parent mentors of the class. Did any of you ever do anything like this for school? I sure didn't!

Hope all of you are having a good afternoon.

I just finished watching Playing Cupid too, @flyingdumbo127--it was cute, but predictable. As soon as I heard the lead male's voice, I knew I had seen him somewhere, but couldn't place him till I looked it up. He was on Pretty Little Liars and also played Dr Melendez on The Good Doctor. They did speak about at least 1 of the other child's business' --the girl who created the website that 'Clara' used for her match making business. But they should have shown at least a few others,,since there were quite a few children in that class

Off to make crab cakes..mmmmmm

Slipping down the page.

DH and I were working on solving the puzzles in the Finders Seekers box we gave DS for Christmas. It is like an escape room in a box subscription. Solve puzzles and figure codes to solve a mystery. We completed 6 of the 8 puzzles in an hour then stopped because the last two have us stumped. We will try again tomorrow. DS and DDIL did the first box in 45 minutes. The second was more challenging. I don't think we'll try it.

Also took a drive to the Starbucks near where his mom had lived. DH wanted to drive through PA a little to see the snow. And we also went to Dunkin to bring home two more brownie batter donuts for dessert tonight.

Had a Facetime with DD and the grands, which was nice.

Off to bed now.

Brrrrr! It's cold outside. Has been snowing since noon. The wind is blowing like crazy right now. The whole state of Texas is under a Winter Weather Warning. We're expecting another wave of snow later tonight. Lou Lou is sleeping with us and Lil Joe is with DD. Their room is on the northside of the house and so cold. Praying for no electric outages tonight.

I've love to shop for new furniture but it will be a couple of years before I do unless DD moves out before then. Our couch and matching chair have really gotten worn since she moved in. And our table/chairs too. I've told her that when she does move out she gets the furniture and we'll buy ourselves new. I am serious about that.

Add me to the group that has not seen Ghost.

Called a neighbor that moved a couple of months ago. It was good to talk to her. We really hated to see her go but it's good for her to be closer to her daughter.

Good morning all. So far the storm watch from last nite till 10 am today, hasn't brought anything, and thankfully nothing in the way of freezing rain. They say better chance tonite for significant icing. @Kirby, I hope you didn't, and don't lose power, I saw how bad it was in Texas on the weather channel earlier for you :(

And now an hour later..the storm watches for tonite and tomorrow have disappeared, just advisory now for a little light freezing rain. But they have changed our 3-5 on Thursday to 5-8 and maybe another 1-3" overnite . Think we will be heading to the store tomorrow for a few things, before all the crazy people get out there on Wednesday, lol!

Watched the season premiere of Idol last nite. Why is it that the people the judges rave about, are usually the people that we look at each other and say 'huh"" , and usually don't think they sound that great? lol!

Cleaning day here..both bathrooms and then dusting and vacuuming the dining room and living room. If I have enough energy after that I will do our room and the spare bedroom.

Have a nice morning all,,stay safe (and indoors) if you got the snow or ice storm!f8533458758aea7e7c6c2b221eb12bd5.jpg

Add me to the group that has not seen Ghost.

I saw it years ago, but didn't really like it.

Weird Monday here because it's school vacation week, so it just feels like a really long weekend. - I need the break, but in a way I also miss the structure. There were many years when our Disney trips were this week, so I think that's probably in the back of my mind somewhere, too.

I'm also tired. I woke up extremely early yesterday and just couldn't get back to sleep, so I finally got up. So this morning the cats were confused and got me up almost as early, thinking they would get another early breakfast. 😽

LOL cats are such creatures of habit, but if you change your schedule..they think it's time to change theirs too

Good morning everyone.
Slogging thru today, after a particularly sleepless night.
Almost nothing on my agenda this week, as of this moment in time at least! Meeting on Friday afternoon out of the office, plus I need to pick up a large jobsite sign I ordered. We will see what pops up between now & then - something always does!

I finally got around to ordering a new vacuum this morning, after using the one from the in-law suite for last 2 weeks.
Ended up with another Shark. They've been good, and after combining a coupon and free shipping, I feel I got a decent deal.

Yippee for your new vacuum..I love my Shark,,and if it 'bit the dust' , I would be out buying another Shark in a flash!

@Breezy_Carol
Hubby just got online and was finally able to access the county health site. He was able to sign up to be 'notified' when the vaccine is available for him to get. Finally a little forward movement on that, of course no telling how long it will be until they get some. I was hoping that the COPD and Heart clinic here would also be getting some for their patients who are eligible to get them, but so far nothing on that front.

Morning all Hope you all had a good day yesterday. Mine turned out not so great. My husband decided he didn't want to order Hibachi so I had to cook. Since nothing was prepared in my mind he got a really lousy version of mac and cheese.

It's a start at least. I would have thought doctors would be more helpful for the higher risk patients but having seen what my sister in law went through for my parents they would never get anything else done. Hopefully as more vaccine becomes available it will get easier for everyone.

Yikes, just got the fence quote. So now we are comparison shopping w/ materials to do it ourselves. I suspect that even though it was a lot higher than we anticipated we may go that route. We'll see...once you add up materials, your time & effort it suddenly doesn't seem quite so outrageous!

This is why I am doing the kitchen myself with my grandson. The cheapest quote I got was $60,000. The materials are only costing about $15,000 and that is on the higher side of the estimate and includes the appliances being delivered AND installed by Best Buy. Doing it with my grandson will run far less than half that quote. I have actually enjoyed doing the painting and some of the demolition myself.

I third or 4th the Shark Vacuum. I have one also that is still going after 11 years although the suction is starting to go a bit.

Now I have a funny story as far as vacuums go. My daughter finally got married while she was in Nursing School, they already had 3 kids so it was about time. My son in law asked her what kind of engagement and wedding ring she wanted. Her reply - A Vacuum Cleaner. She wanted a $1,000 Kirby Vacuum instead of a wedding ring. He thought she was joking but she got her Vacuum. She also has a Shark and just bought a vacuum/carpet cleaner combination and she uses all 3. They have been married 6 years and she still doesn't have a wedding ring. They did get his and hers skull tattoos for their 1st anniversary though. Only my youngest would want a vacuum cleaner.

Well I am off to finish the kitchen painting - the ceiling and some small touch ups and I am done. The demolition is set for thursday or friday so i can get the new cabinets

Good Morning, Friends,

My friend Barbara who lives in Houston where it may snow summed it up perfectly by saying she hoped the snow would freeze the virus! I sure with it would for good and all!

Hugs to all having sleeping/resting trouble. Prayers you get some good relaxation and zzz's today.

Yesterday was super windy again here. Thankfully all seems quiet now which is good because Dad will be heading out soon for some needed shopping. I did DVR "Very Very Valentine" last night and will start watching it shortly.

Have a great Monday all! 🐣

I know, but I just pulled out 1/4 mile of 3 rail fence & posts plus a acre of vineyard trellis in the last year - I'm DONE with fencing for a while, except (probably) writing the check!

Thankfully my kitchen isn't that big, 130 square feet, but that is why I thought the quotes were extreme. If I had that much fencing to do I think I would probably hire someone.
