I love all the Disney characters for different reasons but I guess if I had to choose one it would be Peter Pan because I loved the way the character interacted with DD on her first trip to WDW. We took a mother/daughter trip in early December 2014 and saw Peter Pan and Wendy at a MK Christmas Party. I know that it wouldn't be the same person but that Peter Pan acted the same way around her as 15 years earlier.

Lil Joe and Lou Lou decided to clean their bathroom last night. DD went to investigate why they were being so quiet and found that they had locked the bathroom door. Fortunately our doors can be unlocked from the outside. She opened the door and found that they had gotten the Scrubbing Bubbles and Kaboom out. It was everywhere, on the floor, walls, cabinets and them. They suffered no side effects from the cleaners and the bathroom smells nice and clean.

DS has sold his house and moved in with us until he and his fiance find a house which is terribly hard at the moment since its a sellers market. They've put offers on a couple but have been out bid each time.

Good morning all. @AuntieMe3--prayers for your Mother. What a beautiful picture of the sunset, thanks for sharing!

@dazedx3--continued prayers for LJ to be able to come home soon~

@Kirby--yikes to them locking the door and getting into cleaning stuff. That could have turned into something very scary! Better lock those chemicals up!

Its a balmy 24 outside,,but they are predicting a sunny 45 degree afternoon,,happy that more of the snow will melt.

I did all my cleaning and laundry yesterday, so today I might actually get a chance to work on a puzzle. I got another one from Amazon delivered yesterday, another of the collectors corner series. I had ordered it long before Christmas when it said 'in stock', but 2 days later I called when it still hadn't shipped and was told that it was no longer in stock, and they didn't think it would be back in. Third party sellers were selling it on Amazon for $40-60 instead of the $19.99 it was when I ordered. I thought to check on it the other day, and it was back in stock at under $20 so I grabbed it. Looked on ebay too,,and they wanted $60 and up..who in their right minds would pay that for a jigsaw puzzle? Not me! lol!

Auntie Me Prayers for you and your family.

Thank you everyone for the prayers. No more word yesterday as my grandson didn't respond to my phone call or text message. I will hopefully get some word from him today.

Have to get my grandsons to school thankfully. Virtual was a killer with the kindergartener yesterday. He was on for a full 2 hours and bored. The first grader was off in an hour. Now I see why my daughter took them out of public school. Then my husband has his eye dr. appointment that was rescheduled. I get to sit in the car for an hour in 30 degree weather. This is one office that will not let me in there. It annoys me a little as he has been totally blind after a few appointments. Although I like not seeing them stick needles in his eyes. My problem is he thinks after these shots his vision will miraculously be cured.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning All,

It's been busy few days here. I'm working on our taxes. I prefer to just rip the band aid off and pay what we have to do and be done. I need to do some grocery shopping before the artic freeze comes down. It's supposedly going to be -5 to -10 for the high by Monday so that's exciting and by Thursday high of like 19. I'll be home next week is what I heard. I have some books and picked up some more wreath things and will just hate the heating bill when it comes in.

Here in Indiana age 65+ over and can now be vaccinated so setting up shot for my MIL and hoping her clinic will get her in sooner. My mom is feeling better finally after her 2nd shot and Matt's cousin, who is young healthy social worker had her 2nd shot and not feeling well. If you need a 2nd shot, be prepared for maybe not feel well for few days.

I'm praying for you all and sending good thoughts for baby LJ and Auntie's mom. It's hard enough to manage life in "normal" times and then add in trying to navigate the current climates and life makes it doubly difficult.

QOTD: My favorite character is probably Minnie because she sassy and loves her man. I appreciate that :)

Hello friends. I have not posted in quite some time. :grouphug: to all, loving the new babies and praying very hard for LJ and Auntie's mom.

My FIL hasn't been "quite right" for a few weeks and DH said a few nights ago that he can see a change. I'm not sure how else to put it other than, this is probably the beginning of the end. He's not really ill or anything, but he's now 84 and I fear this is the start of his decline. My MIL seems to be depressed as well. Of course, they're stuck in MA in the winter and can't really go anywhere - even if we weren't in a pandemic, they probably wouldn't do much in this weather anyway. But they are missing their Florida friends (who aren't in Florida anyway right now either) and it's hard for them to not do anything. On the upside, they both have appointments to get their COVID vaccines on Monday. My SIL set it up and will take them. We are happy about that.

Also sad news on my aunt. She went to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville last week and unfortunately her cancer has spread too much. She's back at home in Illinois and will be getting hospice services. Doctor actually told her 2-3 months, tops, but my uncle reports that she's already unable to eat and she sleeps a lot.

We will be getting a dog now. My aunt has a 12-year-old Shih Tzu named Delilah that originally, her son and DIL were going to take (my uncle is unable to care for her by himself). But they admitted that they don't really want a dog, and nobody else is stepping up. So at some point, my mother will drive out to get her. I hate to uproot a senior animal from everything she knows, but she needs a home. I hope our almost-14-year-old cat will be okay with her.

I had my ultrasound yesterday and I'm actually okay with it - I may finally get the resolution that I've wanted for the past 10 years! The technician doesn't think I have endometrial cancer, as my endometrium is very thin (she thinks they may not even be able to do a biopsy, that there's nothing there to sample). But she did find a LOT of fibroids - before I had Josh, 2 were removed and 1 couldn't be. That one that remained has now grown larger, and I have 2 new ones, one of which she said takes up almost the entire cavity. Then she found cysts on both ovaries; the left one is large and segmented into four parts. She pressed down on it to get a better photo and OMG, that HURT! She also had a hard time in the first place because of the amount of scar tissue from my 5 previous surgeries. So, considering this, my previous history, and my age, I may just get my hysterectomy. It just isn't a good time right now, with all the school uncertainty, but nothing she found is an emergency and it could wait until summer. I'm good with it! And at least I finally have an answer now as to why I've lost 3 sizes, but gained 20 lbs. and my belly is about the size of a 5-6 month pregnancy and hard as a rock. (Back in November 2000, I had ONE grapefruit-sized cyst removed, and it weighed about 7 lbs. So I can imagine how much all of it together weighs.)

So we're just plugging away here. Expecting more snow tomorrow and then again on Monday. February really seems to be the month for snow here. We are all happy to see that the days are getting longer; we now have daylight until about 5:30 or so. Josh has decided that while he still wants to go to Epcot and Animal Kingdom next year, he also wants to go back to Universal, so maybe we can do that in April '23. We have discovered that he is finally tall enough for almost all the rides now, many of which he couldn't ride when we went in '19 (we only went because Mommy had never been there and is a HUGE Harry Potter fan). He and I have been watching a lot of Disney and Universal walking tours on YouTube lately, we've found that it's a good way to get some exercise. On Monday, we "walked" for 50 minutes around World Showcase and enjoyed every minute of it! DH is looking forward to the Super Bowl, even though the Pats aren't playing. He still gets to see his "man," Tom Brady.

QOTD: My favorite Disney character - a tie between Jack Skellington and Captain Jack Sparrow.

And then maybe there's this... ;)

@apirateslifefor me--prayers said for you and your whole family. Seems so many people are having to deal with so many sad things. I love that you and Josh are exercising by 'walking around" the parks with youtube, :)

I am once again asking for prayers also. Lily has to go back to the psychiatric hospital. She went back to school a few weeks ago, and things were fine. She saw the new counselor on either Mon or Tues. We don't know what happened, but apparently last nite, stepdaughter had to take her to the ER, and they say she has to take her to Hagerstown and have her admitted again. It was the first time stepdaughter has called to talk to her Dad since his birthday on Nov 5,,and that's all she wanted to tell him. :( But at least she called, instead of FB messaging me and putting me in the middle again!

Good morning.

DH left early to go to his office and meet the roofers plus do some touch up painting inside.

I am trying to get a refund on travel insurance we bought 15 months ago for a cruise that was to leave Saturday. I had to move the cruise out a year so as to not lose the $900 deposit. I would really rather just cancel. But I hate tp lose the $338 for the insurance too, and they won't move it to the new cruise.

@apirateslifeforme, I was just wondering last night where you were. Sorry about your health issues and your aunt. But how nice of you to give Delilah a home. And your picture of Klinger made me laugh.

@lynxstch, so sorry to hear about Lily but glad she is getting the help that she needs.

@lovesmygoofy, always good to see you check in. In Maryland 65+, which I am, are eligible for the vaccine. I am on the list for when they are available from the local health department. And re: reactions, my DD had COVID before she got her first shot so already had some antibodies and had the reaction after the first shot. The reaction tells you that it is working. (Per my GYN yesterday.)

We put out a new corn cob squirrel feeder to try to keep the squirrels away from the bird feeders. It helps a little and is fun to watch them hang upside down to access the corn. You take entertainment where you can find it.

apirateslifeforme..... We are somewhat in the same position healthwise... I am having a Hysterectomy on the 15th. My lining however has gone from 3mm to 12mm in a span of 3 months. They did a D & C and found pre-cancerous cells. I'm hoping the surgery takes care of it. Dr. said there is a forty percent chance they will find cancer cells. I'm trying not to worry too much

Prayers continued for everyone that needs it....2021 needs to shape up already.

@apirateslifeforme @dazedx3 I had a hysterectomy about 11, maybe 12 years ago...I can't even remember when it was....lol I think it was Aug 2008. Anyway, I had endometrial cancer but thankfully it was all contained to my uterus so once they took that out I was fine, no additional treatments needed after that. For me, having the hysterectomy was great...I felt so good after my uterus was gone. I hope you both have the same experience after yours.

With my sunset picture I wanted to mention the sun was setting right above my parents house. DD took the picture and we were standing in the street right in front of our house, my parents house is right where the sun was setting. We live super close.....lol 1 house and a large empty field between us.

The Dr that called my dad yesterday said they wanted him there at 8am to discuss my moms test results. The hospital is about an hour away so he go up early to drive down there only to find out security won't let him in because visiting hours don't start until 10a. They called the Dr and they told him sorry for the inconvenience, but they were going to do one more exam of my mom and then call him with more info. So now my dad is just sitting in the parking lot waiting for visiting hours so he can at least see my mom....geesh.

I really wanted to go to the Farmers Market today since I missed last week but now I'm not in the mood so next week, I guess.

Prayers said for LJ, AuntiM’s mom, Apirate‘s FIL and aunt (and doggie), dazed, and anyone else who needs them here right now. I had a hysterectomy several years back (with a bunch of other things taken out preventively besides my uterus due to my history of breast cancer, which can be related to ovarian). Felt a lot better afterward, and pain and bleeding issues I’d had for a long time were finally resolved. Found out after surgery I had adenomyosis. Was glad to put it behind me. Dazed, glad you’re moving along with that given those findings. (My mother had endometrial cancer.)

Kids got a nice surprise yesterday. Apparently FIL, who passed in December, had bought cards for both my kids’ college graduations (one in May and one in December last yr) but became ill and never got a chance to follow through with them. Well they came in the mail yest with nice notes and small checks from SIL who cared for him and is handling estate, saying this was his intent. Both cried. It was touching. DS’s girlfriend lost her grandfather this week, too. Did I ever mention that when FIL walked into my mother’s wake (which was pre-Covid), DD could not stop crying, for some reason? That was before he became sick, too, but she just couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong with him. And shortly after that, his problems began. 😕

We had a little scare here, wanted to share with you guys so you can check things out in your houses, too. Two or three times over the past couple of months we smelled something weird, like a plastic burning, when we were watching TV. We looked all around and couldn’t find anything. Then one day our tower speaker stopped working, so we figured a wire or something burnt inside and that’s what we were smelling. (Trying to replace that has been a whole other story!) Then the other night it happened again. DH checked the device our electric fireplace was plugged into (like a multi plug), and the plug was hot, so he took it out, unplugged everything else, and took the device out of the plug. Well lo and behold it was burnt inside, and had we not intervened it could’ve caught on fire! It did not have a breaker switch on it. So we kept things unplugged until we got a new one with a breaker switch. This room is only ten years old and had all new electric wires run. I shudder to think if it had been in the older part of the house. Good news was that the speaker works again since removed from the plug in device. Thankfully since I could not find another one. (Except at Savers the other day, for $14! Which you know I bought! Lol) I ordered two speakers like it online and both were not the right ones when they arrived; still have to return the second one. What a pain! We had a pretty substantial fire here several years back and I would not want to live through that again. So moral of the story is to check your devices (power strips or otherwise) to make sure they have a breaker switch on them so the electricity shuts off if they get overheated! And also don’t keep too many things plugged into any one power strip, especially things like heaters that draw a lot of electricity.

This also caused me to go out and buy a new loveseat for that room. We originally had a loveseat there but it had to be replaced, and I moved a sofa there from another part of the house, but it was blocking the heat source (which has its own electric source), which is why we were using the optional heater on the fireplace . So back to a loveseat so we can use the regular heat source again instead of the fireplace, for heat. And we also moved a landline telephone out of the plug that overheated, too. We’ll get the loveseat today.

@apirateslifeforme I commend you for taking your aunt’s dog, and pray she and the cat get along! 🙏🏻

Aww. Sometimes doctors aren’t focused on things like visitor policies. But that makes me sad for your Dad.

My favorite Disney Character has to be Belle. I would love to have the library the Beast gives her.
Prayers for baby LJ
Had to run into town because when I went to see what the bank balance was online after my student loan was taken out I discovered I had forgotten to subtract the amount of a check in the register so it was overdrawn. Didn't need another overdraft fee so went and took money out of savings at the credit union and put it in the checking at the bank. Plan is to repay at least half of it on Fridays paycheck and the other half in 2 weeks. Also stopped and got myself some drive thru items since I was out and about including tried the new raspberry cream charger at a local coffee shop which is their current special secret drink. It was ok but I like the one they had back in December called a winter berry charger much better-I learned how to order it today, all I have to do is order a blue raspberry charger so even if I don't get the blue berries placed in the bottom I will just add someat home at least I can have it
Put the melaleuca order that came about 7:30 last night and I just had 13 year old place it on the table for me-I had to wait until she was not there because I got a bunch of their hot chocolate mix to hopefully last a while before it goes to out of season for the year and needed to be able to stash it so it is not wasted by a certain child of mine who likes to just eat it straight-if she is going to do that it had better be with the discounter store or grocery store brands not the premium can only get from Oct/Nov to Feb/Mar brand. (I know unreasonable mama here)
Got the vitalize (for energy) mini essential oil in my little zipper pouch refilled. The others I carry are vapor (for breathing very handy if around smoke for any reason), armor (immune system protective-use this a lot during cold and flu season as a general rule), lavendar (relaxation and calming), peppermint (great for headaches), frankinsense (focus especially when doing mental tasks-very handy for a child who is having a hard time paying attention to school lessons), bergamont (stress reducer and also for calming my youngest in a melt down from people invading her personal space especially after she has indicated get back and either I or 16 year old have told them to back off and give her space-one good thing about this pandemic is since we are restricting her at stores I don't have to deal with complete strangers having to touch her adorable curls in the store when she is in the cart. And DH wondered why I would threaten to haul off and slap those idiots-um I don't know you from Adam so keep your damn hands off my child you dim whit or you will be dealing with a mama bear crossed with a mama llama. The last essential oil that I carry in there is lemon (mood booster and concentration). I also have a larger roller ball of lightening blend which is the stress blend that gets brought out for a kid freaking out at performances especially if close to hyperventalating-had to use that one more than once as a 4-H leader for a member sadly more so for a few that the parents didn't really care and pulled drop off a child under 12 and went here your on your own because your not doing what we think is important like sports for an activity. I have added a headache blend for the stronger headaches.
Got a load of 13 year old's laundry washed and in the dryer with her help to learn what to do. It is still going to be quite a while before I let her do laundry unsupervised but at least she can reach in the basket and the washer to move her clothing instead of me.

Friday morning update since I realize that I forgot to hit post last night before falling asleep.

13 year old didn't sleep all night or if she did it was in short naps. hrough the night until 9:30/10

I am thinking that DH and I are going to make a run into the smaller town to the West of us to do a curbside pick up at the store during the 11-12 window along with stopping to pick up plates for his car before noon. The line is much shorter there but that office does close during the noon hour for lunch. We need to get the car plates before Monday when he has to go to work so he can take his car and not my truck as 4-H meeting and since he has the car I refuse to play take him to work come home and then leave later for the meeting to come home after and possibly go in and pick him up anytime from 1 am on if he can't get a ride with a co worker who lives a few miles N of us.

16 year old will be in charge of making sure that 13 year old gets ready to go to bowling while we are gone so we can come home, unload the items and then leave again. Bowling is in the city to the East of us and while we can get plates there as well the lines are much longer. Currently they are only allowing 3 people in the building in the stand by line so if you don't have an appointment you have to go in and get a number and then when your number is within 3 you get an alert on your phone to come inside and wait until your number is called. Yes I could schedule an appointment but since we are not having to do any title work I see no reason to either pay for a parking spot or do the drop DH off at the door while he does the title work appointment and I go driving around the area a bit till he calls me and says I am done when I go and pick him up. Not when there is free parking in the smaller town.

Prayers for everyone who needs them right now.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I am still seeing some “nativity” things around ever since we discussed them here. I‘ve still decided to keep my little set that I have, but I did see these and snapped shots, probably out of habit. I did almost buy the plate one, but I wasn’t sure where I’d hang it. Somehow I know I’m going to kick myself for not buying it.

Good Morning 🌼

So many prayers, hugs, and just care all-around to each of you, my friends!

I'm later checking in this morning so extra nice to see so many posts including a check in from both Tina and Apirateslifeforme.

I feel extra Blessed and truly thankful to God today to get to celebrate with my Dad his birthday. Both of us are in excellent health which, of course, given the current plague, means all the more.

TV seems A-okay! :)

Truly wishing each of you a happy Thursday.

So we're just plugging away here. Expecting more snow tomorrow and then again on Monday. February really seems to be the month for snow here. We are all happy to see that the days are getting longer; we now have daylight until about 5:30 or so...

Josh...and I have been watching a lot of Disney and Universal walking tours on YouTube lately, we've found that it's a good way to get some exercise. On Monday, we "walked" for 50 minutes around World Showcase and enjoyed every minute of it!...

So true on the February thing! I laugh that Groundhog day is all about whether winter will be over, when ours has really just started. (...though it does save me in the exercise thread every year, because shoveling makes up for daily minutes lost to the shorter month. 😆 )

I love that you and Josh are doing the Disney walking!! (And I love the Klinger meme too!)

Sorry about your aunt, glad you will likely be able to get your surgery, and wishing you luck with the dog!

Thanks for the prayers, keep them coming. The test results show that LJ has a strong, healthy heart. The issue seems to be that he was born a little early and his lungs weren't quite mature. He is getting stronger and as soon as he can go 2 days without struggling they will start looking at a date for him to come home. My poor grandson slept til almost 3 today. I think he just needed a good sleep. This has been a lot for him to deal with and being strong for both of them was exhausting.

The appointment for my husband went great! We got to the office and there was no parking. I drove around the block and finally found a space. Took one step out of the car and wound up almost fully under the car next to me. It was a solid sheet of black ice. Thankfully I stopped Jim from getting out of the car. I am feeling it though. My knee is swollen, my rib is bruised and my poor rear is sore too. I called from the car and rescheduled the appointment. They were really good about it when I explained that he needs a cane to help with stability but his balance is really bad and if he went down he would be in the ER for all kinds of tests and then I get to worry about Covid.

I will be popping some prescription Motrin for bed tonight!!! I don't care though. LJ is getting better, Jim didn't fall and I am used to it. I don't even have to worry about dinner as my daughter sent over some soup she had left over. It is her version of Sancocho, a Caribbean soup. The pics of it looked really good so I am hoping the leftovers are too. I bought a nice crusty bread to go with it. I don't know where my daughter finds the time with 3 boys and homework a full time schedule at the OR where she is in training, and her oldest is on an elite travel baseball team so lots of back and forth there.

Enjoy the rest of the day and continued prayers on my end for all who need them.

So, quick trip report.
Had to fly into Ft. Myers for work purposes. Our flight out of BWI was 100% full - in fairness to the airline, they let us know that ahead of time and we had the option to change if we wanted. We choose not to, and off we went. Arrived at RSW (lovely little airport, reminds me of PBI) grabbed our rental car and were on our way in no time. Everyone wearing masks at BWI & RSW, everyone wearing masks on the plane - no problem there. Took care of what we needed to do in Ft. Myers, and Sunday afternoon we headed to Orlando. Original plan was to go Monday morning - so we needed a hotel. For the first time ever we stayed at one of the Disney Springs hotels - the Hilton right there across from the old bus stop. We got there around 3ish, dropped our stuff at the hotel, returned our car to the Car Care Center and took shuttle back to Disney Springs. There we met up with our Nephew & his wife and took them out for dinner, as we do everytime we are in town. We are the only ones on my nephews side of the family who visit them (don't get me started.....my husbands sister & husband have gone off the deep end) - so we tried House of Blues which was pretty good. Had a great view of Epcot and MK from our hotel room, could see Contemporary all lit up. Springs was kinda busy - everyone wearing masks.
So Monday morning we checked out of the Hilton and into Old Key West. Lucked out and were right near Hospitality House. Decided to go to parks the night before, had no problem buying tickets and making park reservations last second...Epcot on Monday and MK on Tuesday. Had breakfast at Olivia's
Dang it was COLD! Sun was out but the wind was blowing & cold. No worries, we made the best of it - took Uber to the park, walked in around 10:30 even though it didn't open technically until 11. Walked onto Soaring, then Nemo, putzed around and headed to World Showcase. Walked onto Frozen, made our way around and had a late lunch at the Pub in England...no wait. We were tired as all get out, so around 4ish we left the park. Took a bus back to our resort, along with 2 other people. We stopped at Olivia's again, had some salads and got a few glasses of wine and a key lime tart to go...anyway, husband figured out a way to run our live Directv off of his tablet and on the Disney TV, so we watched a bit of tv and hit the hay. Tuesday we headed to Magic Kingdom. Much the same here...fairly empty park. We walked onto Pirates at 10 AM (got to park a bit late), then Haunted Mansion and then walked around a bit more and did some more attractions, this & that. Left the park around 12:30 and grabbed a bus to Wilderness and had a nice late lunch at Geyser Point Lounge then took in the resort some more. Haven't stayed at Wilderness Lodge in a long time, but I'm thinking we may move it back on the top three list for next time. From Wilderness we headed back to the Springs, did a bit of shopping, lots of walking and people watching - again everyone well masked and crowds light. Ended up having drinks at Jock Lindseys and then dinner at Paradiso 37 - a first for us. We both had the salmon, it was great.
Wednesday morning we did nothing - slept and took our time - grabbed a Uber for the airport around 11ish and arrived to a near empty Orlando airport. We walked right thru security - no wait - and there was only 4 other people in the tram w/ us. Our flight home to BWI had only 40 people total on it.

Wish it was warmer, but still we had a fine time. And chilled a bit, which we needed. Arrived in BWI, grabbed our bags, got the shuttle to the Parking Spot, grabbed the car and we were home by 5:15

Talking about going in December for a little Christmas ambiance - Husband thinks he wants to maybe take the kids for his 50th b'day. I think he doesn't know how much 3 grown kids eat and drink!!!! Kids have not been in about 12 or 13 years, ever since they put their collective feet down and said they were tired of Disney trips!

Very weird coming home mid week - we almost always book our trips to get us home on Saturday - we like the extra day to chill.

Dogs survived just fine w/ eldest. Youngest coming home for Saturday & Sunday night to watch super bowl and eat junk food with his father and brother, so I'm writing out my grocery list and hoping to get everything together for that.

Dinner tonight is some frozen turkey rice soup made from the Thanksgiving turkey and some french rolls.
