Happy Friday to all. It's also National Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Oh the stories I can tell from being a military spouse. It was by far the most challenging time but I loved it. I loved the moving and getting to know people and the different personalities. After a while you figured out the rhythm of the military and any other military families will likely agree that all duty stations have: people sleeping with other people they shouldn't, baby mama drama, baby daddy drama, who is the baby daddy and where did that baby mama come from?, can't pay the bills but bought the spinning things on the cars, always someone in jail, always someone awol, and by the end always at least once a week a parent calling our house demanding this that or the other for their son or daughter. I think my husband would been fine dealing with the young kids training into soliders but it was the parents that broke him. Overall I loved it and met the best people and would do it again but maybe not more deployments. We had plenty of those.
It's beautiful and cold day here today. I have been productive baking today. I made some lemon pound cakes, blondies, and chocolate chip cookies. I'll drop things along the way up north tomorrow. I can't believe it's snowing in May up there and have to pack sweaters and jeans. I'm so over all of this weather.
Very raw and rainy here today, calling for 27 overnite. I had to start the woodstove this afternoon just to take the dampness out of the house!
Did ya'll know that NBC now has a streaming app also called peacock? I have xfinity cable and it's already loaded on my apps page for the premium service. It's not user friendly at all but has lot interesting shows. I LOVE Monk and Pysch and has all the seasons of those and we started watching Yellowstone the other night with Kevin Costner. It's really interesting. It's touch on the vulgar side and can be violent but overall tells good story. Apparently it will also have rebooted Saved By the Bell and Punky Brewster. I'm so over all these reboots. Just make something new!
We loved Yellowstone, the daughter on that show is something else!
Dinner tonight is leftovers from the past few days.
Gratitude:
1. I received call to gauge my job interest and to do video conference next week. I agreed to hear them out.
2. My mom is in good spirits. It's a small win but it's a win. Yeah!!
3. I texted with some friends today. I miss their faces but good to still joke and laugh through texts.
Peace and safe health to all.
P.S. I reading the cooking challenges and reminded me the first time I tried to make a turkey at our big family Thanksgiving we were hosting. The damn popup signals in the turkey is faulty! I waited for a long time, think days! We had a ham dinner and I cooked that turkey forever and still no timer popped. I gave up. Now I don't buy the turkey with the timer! HMPH
