Good afternoon!
We sold the bedframe to DS's old platform bed, for $50. It was only 18 months old, and in great condition. The lady picked it up yesterday, but we missed the foot piece (it was in the kitchen, which is right by the front door...but somehow, we just overlooked it). So, we had to take out to her this morning, so DH and I made a morning out of it. We hit the post office to pick up packages from the week; then drove over past NAS JAX to meet her.
After dropping off the foot piece, we went to the Metro Diner over by NAS JAX, and have decided we just want to go to 'our' Metro Diner from here on out. The service is better at the one closer to us, and this other location, sadly, did not have the shrimp and grits meal for breakfast; I had the biscuits and sausage gravy, hash browns and eggs, DH had the fried chicken benedict with home fries; and none of it was very good at all.

It took awhile for anyone to take our drink order (in fact, the hostess came and did it after about 15 minutes; we hadn't said anything, she had noticed when seating another table) and our food took a long time to come out; longer than the tables around us, that were sat at the same time, orders taken at the same time (in fact, one person had the same thing as DH) and served by the same server. They had their tickets, were cashed out, and were given refills on their coffees. I had to go ask for coffee refills, ask for our check, and ask to be cashed out; I tried catching her after she was at the other tables, but she would just walk off, so I had to go to the hostess stand to ask for help. IDK what her issue was.

DH still tipped her 20%; if I had paid, it would have been less.
Then we went to a used bookstore over in that area; it was huge!

We spent over an hour in there (dying from the heat, as their a/c was varely working or not functioning), and spent almost $100. They had a selection of old and signed books as well; DH got excited over a set of Lord of the Rings, leather bound, in almost mint condition..I think he said 3rd or 4th edition?) but didn't get it. They asked for masks, so we complied; but our masks were soaked with sweat by the time we left.
Came home, then I headed off to Kohls to shop for flip flop type shoes for DS and a pool coverup for me; managed to find both, used my $30 in KC, and spent less than $20 OOP. Stopped in the dollar store to get wrapping paper/bags for DD#2's birthday gifts (as they'll be here for her bday); I don't like to spend a lot on those kind of things. Then a trip to Publix (and now I remember why I HATE shopping on Saturdays) for fresh fruits/veggies, and milk. No masks at anyone of these stores, if vaccinated, which I was ok with; only had a few people not keeping their distance, and a trio of younglings (all less than 5 years old) at the dollar store were running amok and touching everything in their reach (and with some things, into their mouths).

The parents had zero interest in watching their kids; one of them, maybe 3, made it out the door behind another lady and they didn't even notice. The kid bumped into the lady on the sidewalk, and she brought him back in the store. I was at the register; the cashier who was ringing me out had to stop to go find the parents. The kids were still running around the store when I left.
My feet/ankles are sore, from breaking in a new pair of sandals today. I don't think I'll walk tonight, as I've already hit almost 9k steps today already. We're just having spinach salad (with carrots and tomatoes) tonight for dinner, since we had a carb heavy breakfast. Tomorrow, I'm making a sausage and black bean soup with some Soberdough Hatch's chile bread.
