Alrighty, everyone settle in with some popcorn...I haven't posted since Thursday so this is going to be a long one!
@easyas123, Happy Belated Anniversary!
@Kirby, I hope you are feeling better
@sparkle78, big

to you as well. Lord knows I've been a good one for being on the "coronacoaster" as well!
@dazedx3, Congratulations! Such happy news!
I don't even remember what I did on Friday at this point. All I do know is that I didn't sit down until dinner time.
Saturday, we went out bright and early to hit Target, Party City, and the grocery store. Had lunch at home, then I had to make Josh's cupcakes, give him a haircut (outside, with lots of screaming, even though I didn't use the clippers this time), and wrap the presents from my mother and his "honorary grammy" (my mom's BFF...I've known her my entire life, too

). Then dinner, shower for Josh, and early to bed.
Sunday I made a nice breakfast before heading up to my in-laws' house for the party. It was like we were taking our drive to Florida, we had so much stuff in the car! Our weather had taken a turn; it wasn't even 70 degrees out there (and overcast, but of course we still didn't get any rain. It's like we're living in a bubble here). We called my mother on video-call when we sang to Josh and when he opened the gifts from her and "Grammy" so she could see him. By the time we cleaned up and left, it was after 5, so when we got home, we ordered take-out. Josh asked for his favorite cheese pizza, but to our surprise, our little vegetarian (or "chicken-nuggetarian"...or "baconarian"

) started nicking fried clams from DH's meal! He couldn't get enough of them! I'm shocked...shocked, I tell you.
I made him cupcakes in his favorite colors - orange cake with blue frosting:
This is my favorite photo that I took:
Tomorrow, his actual birthday, we'll be going to the Springfield Museums, then the library (to return movies), and then a stop for ice cream. I can't believe my baby is 5 already!
QOTD - What was your favorite board game as a child? Do you have a favorite game now as an adult?
Always liked Clue and still do. I didn't actually have a Clue game until I grew up, though; I always had to play it at friends' houses. We played a lot of Monopoly and Yahtzee at home.
Now as an adult, I think all of my favorite games are video games. Hidden City is my favorite.
If anyone wants to answer I’d be interested in knowing what card games you all play, too.
As a kid, my mom taught me solitaire, gin rummy, and War, of course. Now Josh and I play Go Fish, Uno, and I just taught him War.
My favorite card game is Uno! As a kid I had cute big fish-shaped Go Fish cards that were fun and cute. Lol, too bad I don't have those now. They looked similar to these:
I had that exact same set, too! In fact, I was hoping to find them for Josh, but I'm sure they don't make them anymore. These are the ones we did find...crazy colors!
To all: Which do you enjoy more as an adult Candyland or Chutes and Ladders? I have always thought Candyland would be fun just for the colors and cute design but honestly have no kid memory of playing it!
I guess Candyland. We have both games, but Josh isn't interested in Chutes and Ladders. I think we've played it all of 3 times. I should take it to the resale shop...need to unload some things at this point.
I recently read in a kids' book of two kids creating their own board game. Did any of you or your kids ever do that? I never did. I do think it would be fun to try one day post plague with kids at summer camps.
This was something we had to do as an assignment in junior high. I can't remember what class, though. We got together in pairs and created board games. My friend and I got an A on ours, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was about or how to play it. I think it may have had something to do with traveling the world...I seem to remember drawing an Eiffel Tower on one of the squares...
