No, thank you for saving the kitty. What a wonderful outcome for the little one. I am a dog person but love to hear when a kitty gets saved and gets a good home. Our rescue doggie was found wandering the streets. I am glad someone found him and brought him to an animal rescue. He is a handful but he is sweet and cute and needed a good home. He is lounging on his bed after we took him for a walk. He is the king of the house. LOL!

I understand those who are feeling a bit down. I am feeling it and especially today for some reason. I think it is just getting to be a bit too much and the anxiety is taking over. I seriously need some alone time, being an introvert, and since DH and I both work from home, that isn't happening. I used to take a day off every 3 months for my time alone. It has been a while. Today I did go into work like I usually do on Thursday mornings so my alone time is driving 15 minutes to work. I make the most of it! I know I am burned out with work and having more than 40 hours of work to do with only 24 hours in which to do some of it. They know not all is getting done.but almost 4 months of this is getting stressful. But, next month I have a week off and we are heading to Bretton Woods, NH for 6 days. I am planning on reading on the deck of the condo with a glass of wine or cup of coffee depending on the time of day. I hope to do some gentle hikes to local waterfalls and ride around to look at the mountains that I love. That may help with the anxiety and stress. I have been meditating again. I kind of lost the momentum when all this started in march. Now I am getting back to it and find it has been helping.
Gratitude:
Even though my job situation is stressful, I am happy to still have a job when so many got furloughed.
We are finishing up the leftovers from the barbecue, thankfully. It is time for something else for supper.
DS called last night and said our DGS asked to call nana and papa. I heard his little voice say Hi Nana Hi papa. So sweet.
The rest of today is going to be a chill day. It is too hot and humid to do a long walk so I will enjoy the AC.

Have a nice day!

QOTD for today 7/9 What is your favorite color? Has it changed over the years or perhaps vary by season? What is your favorite memory or item in that color.
It has been purple for a long time. Probably because no one ever picked that color. And there is something mysterious about it. Nowadays, I notice my favourite is more often blue, the shades that are close to green.
I don't care for yellow as I cannot wear it. Yellow makes me paler than I already am. I'm neutral to pinks and reds. Hate-love relationship with orange as it is our national color (NL). But during national days or events it can be overkill when everyone wears it :P

God Bless, your DGS, Snowysmom :) to you, my friend. I'm glad to read you will soon have a getaway! Please take care.

Karin, I have come to like purple, too. Just tend to gravitate more to pink :)

My Thursday Gratitude extra:

All those who rescue kitties and doggies and other creatures of God, too. Thank you!

When I called Christian Book this morning the background music was a song of praise I had never heard before that I liked by Chris Tomlin called "Holy is the Lord."

A kind CB representative and another on Amazon. Appreciate extra right now all in customer service!

I LOVE all things bright and colorful. Anytime family or super close friends see something colorful, I often get a message with a picture saying they saw it and thought of me. :lovestruc I love that. Right now my favorite is purple, if there is a purple option for whatever I'm picking it. LOL When I get a pedicure, I almost always pick purple(not dark) for my toes. I loved turquoise for awhile and then a really pretty teal-ish green but purple is my thing right now.

Its sooo hot here. I hate when it's HOT, HOT...i guess I live in the wrong climate since its always HOT, hot, here in the summer. LoL One positive is our new AC unit is sooo energy efficient....our bill has gone down compared to last year and it also works soo well I'm getting cold in the house when it's running, which makes me super happy. I hate sweating even though we have the AC running and fans blowing. May's electric bill was lower than usual but I was thinking maybe we didn't run it everyday because it wasn't that hot. But we just got June's bill and I know for sure we ran it every day at a way lower temp than I used to run the old unit so I was very surprised and excited to see the bill, higher than May but way cheaper than last year.

My BFF is coming over for dinner tonight, I'm making tacos and then he's going to cut my daughter and my mother's hair while he's here. I haven't seen him(in person) in a couple months so I'm happy to finally see him tonight. Hubby will be home tomorrow but he has to go back out of town next week so I get to go with them this time. We can't do anything where we're going but it will be nice to just be with him and I'll enjoy hanging out in the hotel while he's working.

Nox, bless you for saving that kitty.

Liz, Lynn, and everyone, I am right there with you as far as being down. I've never had super bad anxiety issues, just a little in stressful times but my mother did and my daughter does. I am starting no have more anxiety due to the stress of COVID. And I am having some musculoskeletal pain that I've been to two doctors for and basically gotten a "live with it" attitude. One doctor at least gave me something for anxiety.

Liz, my 3 yo DGD started soccer shots 3 weeks ago. It is soccer skills. Less than 10 kids, outside. They are supposed to stay separate by 6 feet but they're 3. LOL

Would it entertain Josh at all to get mail from different places? I would be willing to send mail from Maryland and you could plot it on a map. Just an idea. We could make sure we didn't all mail at once.

I could send a postcard from FL to anyone who wants one. :) I'm already sending some to Canada, with recipes on them, for Reddit. LOL

QOTD: Teal, Aqua Blue, Dark Blue

Thursday food: lunch was Tijuana Flats (I had nachos, mmm). dinner is fend for yourself, since we are all pretty full from lunch.

I also forgot to say, I'm feeling you all that are feeling down lately....I am too. I've been sleeping terrible and just feeling so BLAH. I feel like all this time of trying to be safe the last few months and we're worse off than we were before....now I guess because its getting closer to home. My BIL and my uncle both were exposed at work and had to be tested, thankfully both were negative. But I have a cousin by marriage who is sick and having a hard time getting tested because of test shortages again...its like we're going backward not forward so its bumming me out. I need to start mediating again, so thanks @Snowysmom for mentioning it. It really does calm me down when I'm getting anxious.

I just made a blueberry cake with some of the berries I picked yesterday. It looks and smells yummy. One of my "once a year" desserts. When there are fresh strawberries - shortcake, fresh blueberries - cake, fresh peaches - I have a family peach cake recipe.

Exactly!

called last night and said our DGS asked to call nana and papa. I heard his little voice say Hi Nana Hi papa. So sweet.
I love this. DGD likes to facetime and now her face is the first one I see when she calls.

Today DGD decided to put vaseline in her hair while mom was nursing her brother and dad was in the shower. They have tried cornstarch and then shampoo. DD is going to try Dawn next. She looks like a little greaser.

QOTD for today 7/9 What is your favorite color? Has it changed over the years or perhaps vary by season? What is your favorite memory or item in that color. Blue. I have always liked it. A favorite jumper I had about 5th grade was dark blue. And my wardrobe today includes a lot of blue tones. That said, my wedding colors were purple and yellow.

Gratitudes:
All of you to lean on for support

I took so long writing my reply that I missed a bunch of you.

Hubby will be home tomorrow but he has to go back out of town next week so I get to go with them this time. We can't do anything where we're going but it will be nice to just be with him and I'll enjoy hanging out in the hotel while he's working.
It will just be nice to have a change of scenery. I want to pack a bag and go somewhere.

Maybe some chili too! :stir:
Yep.....it was to be in Feb.....and on my bucket list (Egypt) but didn't feel good about going that far then.
We were going to movie it to Feb 2022, but the price was $2000 more. So we'll just do other things.

So sorry that your trip has been cancelled. Egypt would be the first one on my bucket list too. I someday hope to see it before I get too old to travel, but the way things are looking in this world now, it probably won't happen :(
