Good afternoon everyone. I went back my customary 1 extra page, but no more. I'm sure I've missed a bit but well, life does go on and at times it sure can be busy! As I prefer busy over boredom I'll take it! Harvest should be in about 2 weeks, and October looks to be busy around here in general. Anyway, I am sorry if I missed anything important and of course good thoughts going out to all.
I'm walking a little better today.
Good to hear.
It looks like a beautiful day to fly.
Have a great trip!
Mona, I also wanted to say (and I’m sure you know this but saying anyway) warmth vasodilates blood vessels and cold constricts them. So ice should help more with the swelling. But I’m one of those people who likes the feel of warmth on an injury so whatever works. But I just wanted to put that out there. And be careful about overdoing it on your foot if it’s feeling better from the ibuprofen, you still want to help the swelling go down. But I’m glad to hear that’s helping! Keep up with the ibuprofen, with food.
Excellent advice! And thanks for posting that, I'm always forgetting what heat vs. cold do for injuries.
Finally have my hair appointment tonight
Whew - I hear you on the hair appt. I have one next Wednesday, just for a quick trip BUT I also have an appt. next month with another "specialist" for a major change. That appt. is just a consultation, to talk about what I want and if it's possible and what it will cost and what kind of maintenance it will require...that's my problem. Maintenance.
I have to snap out of whatever I'm in these last couple of weeks.
You know, it wasn't until I read this that I realized I was experiencing something similar. I've got a few things going on that are unresolved, and won't be for a bit. I think it's that stuff swirling around my head that has me out of sorts.
So not a whole lot going on this weekend for me. Husband is headed out of town for the weekend tomorrow morning, he's going to visit with some family and go to his family reunion. I'm staying home. Looks like the weekend will be a cooler rain-out but that's okay. I think I'm going to get some long needed organizational things done in the basement and my closet. I'm going to make a short list of items I still need for the basement - stuff like some shelves, and a towel holder for the bathroom. Odds & ends. I'll go do a bit of shopping for that stuff on Saturday probably. I do have a Target & Costco return to make - I just have to decide if I feel like schleping up to the Costco or not Saturday with a gazillion other folks from NY, NJ & PA. Thinking of making duck & wild rice soup on Sunday. Or maybe chili? We'll see what I feel like on Sunday!
Cleared a majority of the summer flowers/potted seasonal items off of the porch and into the compost pile. I still have all my ferns and a few items that are good with the cooler weather, I'll leave them there till the frost gets them. Might get some mums this weekend if I go out.
I still have not gotten my fall "decor" -such as it is- out of the attic. I don't like to put a ton of stuff out in the house, but a few things can help change the look of the house as we enter into fall. I do want to reacquaint myself with my fall tablecloths though - we got a new dining room table in the spring (still haven't used it yet!) that might benefit from a new covering/fall decor.
Does anyone in the northeast/mid atlantic still have hummingbirds? It's our habit to sit out on the porch around 5 or 5:30 in the evening to decompress from the day. We are still seeing hummingbirds, they come right up to us. And they look very po'd at me for having taken away their feeders 2 weeks ago! We still do have plenty of flowering items in the yard so maybe that is keeping them around.
Speaking of the yard it looks like I'll be getting out of the mowing this weekend due to the weather. Well - unless I do it tomorrow evening. Maybe I'll let it go till next Monday or Tuesday and just concentrate of the house this weekend.
Lynn - I did read what you had to say about Summer and her needed surgeries. I wish her the best and a speedy recovery (and helpful kids!)
For those of you traveling, have a wonderful time!
