Have any of you watched the documentary…..Shiny, Happy, People? It is really interesting and also very alarming.
Haven’t done much today, just the normal daily tasks. Hopefully we will get some rain tonight and tomorrow . It is so dry, the grass is crunchy!
No I haven't. I've heard of it. I watched enough of their show to know that something strange was going on. None of what's happened has surprised me, it's just sickened and saddened me.

@dazedx3 I have not watched that documentary. I have watched some Duggar shows which I found to be disturbing. I don't think I could watch this series. It is so sad and sickening how they treat and raise their kids.

Good morning. It is sunny here and 59 right now. The temps are heading into the 70s. The gymnastics shows were cute. Ethan and Owen fully participated and enjoyed it. Ethan does love to be in the spotlight. I again saw ex DIL and Ex MIL and we were all very cordial. That helps when we do have to be in the same room for kids' events. My program last night was good. I got some info that may help me on my path or it may not. It is trial or error. There were only 4 of us in the program so very personalized.

I am off for my morning walk. Then I plan to go by the new condo to take outside pics and see where they are with it. Then some shopping, work, and more walking.

Have a good Sunday.

Good morning! Recovering from my shifts. Had two very interesting post-Covid cases this week, and saw another interesting one post-viral in general, and met some nice people.

Have already emptied dishwasher and trash, and started some laundry. I bought all new towels - I took the scratchy tags off and am now washing them all, will bring the old ones to an animal shelter. Realized when I got home I’d had a 20% off coupon that I could’ve used. Have to go back today so I may bring the slip and see if they’ll give me credit for it, I have to buy some more things anyway. Just sitting and having my coffee and planning my day. We have a lot to do.

Last night we were all off and we got to sit in our new room and enjoy the space together. We all thanked eachother for the hard work we all put in. We will be doing more detail work there today. (Still have to put up a door, paint, set up bookcases, clean out that one cabinet, etc.) I bought a few pieces of small furniture on Amazon and at IKEA that were perfect (coffee table, sofa table), and have another on the way (a very thin end table to put next to a sofa arm). Sometimes you have to use the space to figure out what you really need. I’m changing a couple of things already - I didn’t like grey throws on the white sofas so we’re using white throws, lol. DS really loves the space. DD helped him yesterday get his whole area set up. We don’t see much of Grady now when DS is home, he’s glued to DS!

We have some strawberries growing in a whiskey barrel already. I have to talk to DH to see if we’re going to attempt a garden this year. We have so many other things to do outside. I’m not sure he really wants to but he probably will. Technically it’s DD’s garden, but he always helps her. She just started her practicum to finish up her Master’s, so she’s been busy with that. She should be done by early fall. I’m so glad she is almost done, it’s been a lot of hard work for the past two years and she’s only taken two, maybe three weeks off from school the whole time. Once she’s done we launch into fixing up the in-law apt with her. She’s already bought a lot of things for the space so we have to sort through all of it. I have to contact the young kid I know who I’m going to ask if he will help us clean out or two attics so we can better organize whatever stuff we decide to keep. DH is working on the cellar with dump runs every week.

Dazed, to answer your question, not sure I want to watch that show, that family gives me the creeps as it is! Nice to see you posting. Thinking of all, and Kirby’s son, too. The people in my family who lost a child are having a rough time, but I think, also have some good ideas about coping that they mentioned. Still hard.

I hope everyone has a nice Saturday! 🐥

Good sunny morning. Going to mid 80's today. They are pretty sure we're going to get rain tonight and tomorrow, I certainly hope so. We need it badly.

@Pea-n-Me I'm so glad you are enjoying your new room. Would love to see a finished picture, when it's finally finished, if you care to share.

I'm still waiting for the painter to answer my texts. I sent one yesterday and another this morning, both show as read immediately, but not the courtesy of a response. I may end up trying to find someone else. We may end up paying twice as much to get 3 rooms finished, but I'm not waiting forever and ever for her to have the time. It's just rude not to answer the text and tell me if she has any idea of a time frame when the restaurant is going to be settled enough to get back to the job she took here.

I put a pork roast in the crock pot for dinner, just have to figure out sides. Maybe the little fresh summer squash my SIL brought when she brought the berries. I have a roasted garlic potato packet I bought to try, so maybe I'll do that with it.

Off to find something to get into. Have a great day

Happy Sunday Friends, from me, too, what a happy morning picture, Lynn, thank you, my friend:hug:::MickeyMo

Pea:grouphug:and prayers that you now enjoy some downtime. Thank you always for the loving and kind, excellent care you bless so many with. Precious Grady and Toto, of course, too:dog:How is your Son feeling?

Snowysmom:hug:I'm so glad you enjoyed the gymnastic show yesterday. Thank you, always, for your loving presence and cheer to your grandkids and all blessed to know you, including all of us. Continuing new condo, place of peace prayers.

Not my intent ever to judge. I will say that the little I have seen/read about how the Duggars choose to parent, definitely would not be my choice!

Quiet morning here. Dad is staying home again:cheer2:I'm looking forward as always to watching online worship. I did do some Father's Day online 🛍️🖥️yesterday and will make some choices today. I just attached a picture of a 🍬🍭puzzle dad and I did yesterday to sweeten up this morning for all of you with love. I will check back later.

I can share a bit now, thanks for asking! Keep in mind, it’s not done yet; it’s a basement-type family room (one of the windows is next to the DVDs there), and the theme we were going for is barn-like. It’s also DIY, and we did it all on a budget!

You can understand why we needed throws on the sofas, lol. Still waiting for some pillows to come for the one Grady is on. Those are all my books and some other crap in the background on that side, lol. Ugh. You can also see the carpet tiles we used. Three of us love them, the other is coming around, haha. All that stuff under the TV is going to go on top of that sofa table - DH just put it together, it took a while but I really like it. We just put together the coffee table from IKEA, too. I decided to try to keep the throws underneath it, I think they look good and it makes sense to keep them there (DD and I said it cuts down on the dust that was under there too lmao - I’m really the only one stuff like that bothers, tho). The walls are re-insulated so it’s warmer, but it can still get chilly down there, even in summer. (We love throws though, anyway.) It’s a comfortable space and we love it. I’m glad to be able to go down there again, was a huge mess before. I really should’ve gotten better Before pics, but here’s an idea from when they were doing demolition - Toto was on a mouse hunt!

Thank you for such great pictures, Pea! You did a wonderful remodel job and, of course, Toto and Grady are ever-adorable, too!

Should any of you come across a sparrow, would you please take its picture for me? I could also use one more songbird picture, too. I would appreciate either of these so much. All is quiet here. I did order dad a couple of surprises on Target and have also decided to give him a month of Boost Delivery from Ralph's.

Target FYI is that this week books and games are buy 2 get one free. Dad also had a $10 of $70 purchase Target Circle Offer. Rarely do we ever spend anywhere near that much money which for us is a fortune. We saved close to $20 today thanks to both offers! Dad treated himself, which makes me happy, to some new 🎧for his CD player, as well.

I'll be watching online worship a little later when dad is done watching 📺Our 🖥️is in this same room. I pray to watch any service in quiet and more at prayerful rest. Have a great rest of the day everyone💕

@Pea-n-Me Your room looks really nice, very comfy looking. Grady and Toto seem to think so.

Good morning. It is going to be warm today, around 78. I am not a fan of warm weather. I like when the temps are in the 50s or low 60s, fleece weather. I bought a new suitcase yesterday as I one I have now is too big for me to handle on a trip. It was tough when I went on the cruise. Kohls had a good sale and I had 30% off so it was a better price for Samsonite luggage than on Amazon. Also, it is a pink color and I have a lemon yellow tag on it so I can find it fairly easily on the luggage carousel. I also got a shirt and capris. I looked in TJ Maxx and I just do not see the appeal of that store. I have to remember not to waste my time again. I have been there a few times and always feel the same way. There is nothing there for me. Some people really enjoy it as their shopping carts are full.

Ellie has a birthday today. I will text her Happy Birthday later. She had a fun friends' party yesterday. I am not sure when the family party will be.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Good morning. We actually got a couple of hours of rain last night. It's still sprinkling now, and they say it will continue till at least noon. We need a good soaking rain, but we'll have to make do with this. Another chance on Wednesday. Temps only low to upper 70's most of the week.

I still haven't had the courtesy of a reply from the painter. I'm going to call her later today and find out what the heck is going on. She still has stuff here, if she's not going to finish, she needs to come and get it. I'm going to start searching for another painter that won't cost an arm and a leg to finish the job if I don't hear from her by Wednesday. Enough is enough already. I no sooner wrote that than she finally answered my third text. She said she was on her way to work and has the last of 18 chiropractor visits on Thursday. She'll see what he says and be here as soon as she's capable. What is that supposed to mean? I wonder how many other painting jobs she's put on hold along with ours.

Its gray and gloomy and it matches my mood today. So much to do inside and I don't feel like doing any of it. It was going to be floor washing day, but there's no point with the rain outside.

@Pea-n-Me The room looks great! Very homey and comfortable. And the dogs obviously have made themselves right at home, lol
Have a great day everyone.

Time to dump the painter and move on. An honest and understanding person would have taken your inconvenience into account, acknowledged that she was not able to complete in a timely manner, and given you the option to move on to someone else, rather than attempting to hold you hostage to her (questionable) schedule. My guess is she has some medical issues that she uses to excuse her bad performance.

The summer season is moving on and I count these days until mid to end October as my 'enjoy the summer season' days. I'll have projects in progress but unless I'm doing it myself, nobody gets to camp here.

That's what happened years ago with my kitchen and bath renovation. I was in the middle of a 'Bill' situation - insert name of person that shows up when they want to, and from day to day never knew when they would show up. In my case at least decent work was done and they listened to what I wanted. On the other hand, I dealt with the 'other' jobs, the need to go to court, the wanting an advance on the work, the girlfriend issues, the car broke down story, what have you.

My worst experience was when I arrived home to a complete stranger working IN my home and no contractor to be found. Grrrr.

Good Monday morning.☔

Worked all weekend so nothing fun to report. Boy, did we get the rain yesterday. ⛈️

Pea-n-Me - love the cabinet/table you have under the TV! That is definitely my style.

Searched around on Indeed.com for jobs over the weekend. Found about 5 that I would like to apply for, 1 is at Cincinnati's big animal rescue. I was all set to start sending my resume out but then I realized with going on vacation the 1st week of August, I wouldn't have enough PTO built up so I would have to go the week without pay. I can't have that happen 💸. Except for the animal shelter, the other places were big corporations. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and apply and just figure on the whole process possibly taking 6 weeks to complete.

I did do something fun for myself Friday. Since I work 1/2 days on Friday and Mia was on vacation, I decided to go see a movie by myself. I went and saw The Little Mermaid 🧜‍♀️. It was good, pretty true to the original. Yesterday we were really slow at work so I ended up watching A Man Called Otto on Netflix. That was recommended by my sisters and I shouldn't have watched it at work, sad ending.😢

That's about it, back to work (don't want to give the new boss something else to complain about 😒). Have a great day!

Snowysmom:hug:, I love the sound of your pink new bag with 🍋luggage tag. How bright and cheerful and perfect for a dear Quacker--you! Dad sure hasn't found much of anything at Marshalls or Ross, places similar to TJ Maxx, during the last few years. Glad Kohl's came through. Send me :sunny:please anytime! :)

Just a big:grouphug:dear Lynn.

Wow, what a horrible experience, Judique! I'm so sorry that happened to you, my friend:hug:

:grouphug:Footballmouse and new job big 🙏too. You would absolutely make such a kind extra difference to all of those animals:dogdance:🐈

I'm so grateful extra to God that by His Grace, dad was able to reschedule a doctor visit from later on Thursday to tomorrow morning. This way he gets it done with and can stay home on Wednesday:cheer2:This makes things easier for him this Father's Day week all-around. Otherwise, quiet Monday around here. Wishing each of you, always, a healthy and happy new week ahead with all my love and care. I'll check back in later. ETA: two pictures I just found that I wanted to share with each of you, friends :)

Most of my bird pics are not very clear (due to zooming in from a distance) but I found this one on my phone from last summer:

:thanks::hug:dear PollyannaMom, that's a great sparrow picture! I really appreciate it, my friend :)

Dad has sure had a busy morning! He will shortly be going to do :laundy:followed by Ralphs🛒so that will be taken care of before his medical appointment tomorrow. The extra positive of this, is that he will be able to now stay home on Wednesday. Possibly on Thursday, depending on the weather, I might go briefly out with him that early morning when he would be taking my car for its weekly short neighborhood drive (before moving to the other side of the street for Friday Street cleaning) anyway. Meantime, I do have most all of my Father's Day gifts taken care of. It will, of course, simply by a blessed extra gift to be able to celebrate with my dad and above all, God. After all Father's Day because of Him is every day.

Good afternoon hugs to all! :)

Good evening all. I got caught up with posts and there are to many to remember. I didn't realize I wasn't on for so long.

@Pea-n-Me - love the renovations. Similar to what I am hoping to do this winter

@lynxstch - I get your frustrations with the painter. My grandson was supposed to have at least gotten the 2 new dpoors up by now. I will give him a break as he has been working a lot and the transmission went in his car again. The second time in about 4 1/2 months. He only has weekend availability right now and his wife keeps him busy, He does plan on starting while I am away hopefully.

It has been a rough and busy week. The stomach bug took a lot out of me and I am finally feeling close to myself. Thursday my dog had an unusual accident in the house on my new carpets. When I went to look for the rug cleaner the container was dripping. It turned out to be a leak under the sink in the kitchen. Thankfully we caught it early before to much water damage was done and we called a plumber we used in an emergency a year or two ago. Thankfully it was a simple fix. new washer and retightened the nut that had worked loose. I know now to keep a check on that. He was very reasonably and only charged $40. Plus he gave me an estimate for the work in the basement. We are adding a powder room when we redo it. He also gave me a location so it helps with the planning. It will be Jim's "man cave" for all his sports memorabilia. We also had the roof silver coated. It should have been du=one a couple of years ago but with Covid we put it off. That's good for @10 years so one more thing not to worry about.

Friday was Ella's 8th grade graduation. She got very misty eyed a few times. I can't believe that she is off to high school in the fall. Yesterday was my son's birthday. It was a busy week especially when I wasn't feeling well. This week will be a little easier as the little guys are done this week.

I don't know how many of you have seen the news from my area but the I-95 collapse isn't far from me. I was really annoyed by comments on Facebook by people who are only worried about the inconvenience to them. I lived through a similar collapse almost 30 years ago. It's an inconvenience, but I knew in my heart that the driver of that truck didn't make it. He was unaccounted for until early this morning. I just kept thinking that a man is missing and most likely deceased, get over yourselves. Sadly my feelings were proved to be true and he left behind a 7 year old daughter. My heart was so heavy for them. Thankfully my mom will still be able to take us to the airport next week and we have lived in that area long enough to know the backroads, plus we are leaving before rush hour so we should be fine.

I'll leave you with pics from the graduation

Good Tuesday morning.:flower2:

Went and fed Evan's cats last night, they were happy to see their grandma 😏. Cleaned out the litter boxes and then swept their floors. They had the AC on at 62! It was like walking into a freezer 🥶. I turned it up to 75 (the temperature outside didn't get out of the 60's yesterday) and told Mitchell when he goes over tonight to turn it to 70 since they'll be home tomorrow.

Updated my resume last night while I was watching the Reds game :surfweb:. Nothing else exciting is happening. Rain expected some time today but it's not expected to be like what we got this past Sunday.⛈️

Jacob just called about his health insurance card. He said he was on his way to urgent care, he thinks he may have broken his foot playing with the dog last night.

That's about it, have a great day!
