Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good afternoon everyone!

All went well, thanks to God, at the dentist this morning. I even got to see my friend Glenda at church beforehand when dad and I dropped off a book for her. I hadn't seen her in a year so that meant a lot. I even gave her a super duper quick hug :) On our way home, we stopped by the Ralph's dad goes to every week and I got to see Aurora, a kind worker who has befriended dad and I. Aurora always asks dad how I'm doing and looks out for her which means so much to me. She was able to come outside for a couple minutes. I hadn't seen her in 3 years! An extra blessing this morning. I'm so thankful in all.

Thank you Easyas for your hearing aid wise words. Dad will indeed give them a fair try. Thank you all for your prayers for him about that.

Lynn, hooray on your new blue roof! I'm also so glad Don finally tried out he ram. Truly pray all went well for him this morning at his appointment.

Pea, how awful about your poor son :( Surely his hospital can take better care of him/other staff? I realize that sometimes you never do know how sadly someone will choose to react. It's just so sad that twice now your poor son has been subjected to some type of work caused injury.

PollyannaMom, I hope you have been enjoying a relaxing day!

Bobbiwoz, that sounds lovely to get to take a bike ride with your sister. I hope you had fun doing that, my friend. Hooeay for the Phillies. Dodgers on the other hand have now lost two in a row. Maybe tomorrow :)

Thinking of you, Footballmouse and truly hope you are feeling better, too! How is Carly?

Have a great rest of the day everyone and always hugs!

Ok, it was a beautiful and productive day here. Bike ride, and gardening were my main endeavors. Oh, I joined Tom grocery shopping and added some delicious things to the cart. Cut up watermelon and pineapple were two things, and they are absolutely delicious. Tom made cheeseburgers on the grill for us and Nancy, they are so good!

I took time out to watch Phillies, they won, and maybe tonight I’ll watch the Carol Burnette special

Enjoy your evening Everyone!

@Pea-n-Me, sorry your son was hurt. How is he doing.

This side is 100% done. If it doesn't rain tomorrow like it's supposed to, they will be back tomorrow. If not it will be Monday. He has another job to do Saturday, and is going to buy more cows on Sunday

We had no issues with Don getting down to the car and to the diagnostic center. It took 20 min for the lady to enter all the tests into her computer. Another 15 min to get 8 tubes of blood. Then we went to echo, which took almost 25 minutes. She took like 100 pictures, I didn't think she was ever going to be done, lol. He was tired when he got home, but happy that he proved to himself he could do it. He said he feels 'a little more alive' now. Isn't that what I've been telling him for the last 2 months, to get out there and do it!

Dinner was just homemade cold cut subs. I was outside for the 4 hours they were here today, being a gofer for them while they were up on the roof. It looks so pretty, and I love it!

Have a nice evening

I'm so tired I forgot the picture, lol

Still have to figure out a color for the foundation and the windows, but that can wait until everything else is totally done.

Lynn So glad Don got out of the house and his appts went well. He must be feeling so much better now that he knows he can do it. I really like the blue roof.

@flyingdumbo127 S glad your appt went well. How nice you could see your friend and give her a quick hug and see the kind worker at the store. You are making progress. Chris got hearing aids and it did take him time to get used to them. He went back after a short time so they could see how they were working for him and to do any adjusting needed. He did much better with them.

Good morning. Cool again but getting warmer today before the rain comes in over the weekend. I was in the office yesterday and then had lunch with my friend. I did not go to the condo office to pick up the package. I emailed them and said I had resolved the issue of the missing package and they can do what they think is right, but I will not be coming by. I did tell them I was concerned that someone would take a package that was not theirs the day it was delivered. So glad to be done with that particular complex.

Off to work now. Have a good day.

...Was in the ER till wee hours of the morning w DS, another incident where he got hurt. Fun stuff. May end up napping later depending on how I feel.
Enjoy the Thursday, everyone. 🐥
 to him and to you!

Yeah!! :Pinkbounc

Yum! My DS also stopped at the grocery for some reason yesterday, and I came home to find cotton candy grapes in my fridge!! (I love them, and they are only available at certain times.)

...He was tired when he got home, but happy that he proved to himself he could do it. He said he feels 'a little more alive' now. Isn't that what I've been telling him for the last 2 months, to get out there and do it!
So glad he finally did!! - I hope he keeps it up!
And great that the roof is done, too! :jumping3:

Today, I plan to exercise early (since I ended up going to a Lodge thing with DH last night and skipped my treadmill time) and then maybe have a nap myself. - One of the kitties woke me up at 4:00!!

This afternoon, I plan to do some shopping to do for an upcoming charity event we're helping out with. - I have to put together some raffle baskets, so I'd love to hear your ideas! (It's the kind where you get a bunch of tickets and put them in bags by the prizes you like and they draw a winner for each one.)

After shopping, I'll be at a birthday party for the twins. 🎈🎂🎈 I can't believe they're 8!!!

Good rainy morning. I'm kind of glad, the guys need a break from the roof. They'll start the other side on Monday.
The pain in the butt next door neighbor's son (not a kid, he has to be at least 45), came riding his bike up our driveway yesterday and across the back yard to get to his house. (Apparently he finally lost his license from getting stopped with drugs after the third time.) I called him out on it. Their street is maybe 30 more seconds away, why was he riding a bike across our lawn. I wasn't happy. I told him this isn't his personal shortcut, so to stop. So he asks if we are replacing the roof. LOL Duh,,there's a trailer in the side yard with roofing on it he rode right by, and half of that side was done. I said yes it needed it. He asked if we were replacing all of it? I said no, we're going to do half now and half next year. What a stupid thing to ask someone. Some people! Calling for rain today, maybe heavy, a chance tomorrow, and more rain on Sunday until the afternoon. Won't be any yard work for sure. I can clean inside, since I haven't had a chance for the last 3 days.

Watched Good Doctor last night and then I was so tired I had to go to bed.

Off to get something done.

Have a nice Friday

Good Friday morning 🐥:grouphug:

Dad is doing a ⛰️of:laundy:this morning. How I wish I could help him! One day, God-willing I will get to do so. He washed all of his bedding last Friday and is doing likewise with mine today. Thank you all so very much for your kind :cheer2:to me and always my dad as well. It was such a blessing to get to see both Glenda and Aurora yesterday. Going back to the church I was active in pre pandemic along with checking out possible new church options would be one of the last places I would feel comfortable doing. Probably just before a place like Disneyland or Dodger Stadium. The church does have an outbuilding with some old and wobbly but stills standing :) picnic tables meant for the nursery school kids that are also used for summer camps in a small patio area. Perhaps later in the summer, I could meet with Glenda on a weekend, each of us bring our own lunches, and just sit at different tables. That would be a way to get to visit more. Small steps indeed. Monday is May. I will be interested to see what JC Penney and Kohl's send to me.

Dad said earlier that unless his hearing aids can be much better fitted he's not keeping them. I think they're just not comfortable, perhaps still too big. Plus, the cost was very high. He didn't offer more than that (due to being in a rush to get the laundromat). I'm guessing he will call Costco later today or Monday. Meantime he might (I hope) look into as he himself said over the counter options. I thank you all for your prayers extra for him.

Kirby, extra hug and continuing prayers for your son. How is he doing today?🙏

Snowysmom, I am so thankful to God and happy for you that you're done with the complex! I absolutely believe days of greater joy are ahead, my friend🕊️

PollyannaMom, do cotton candy🍇 truly taste like cotton candy? If so, that would be something I'd enjoy trying. The only "grape" I don't mind so much is Holy Communion nonalcoholic (I don't drink at all) grape juice! A tiny cup. How nice of your son to surprise you with them, thoughtful young man he is which is no surprise with you for his mom.

Lynn, take a 🌧️ day off and enjoy some extra📺instead of raring into inside cleaning!

Thank you all for tending to trees and other of God's green life. Happy Arbor Day or as dad said last night, evergreen in part day. I will take Evergreen's picture when I move my car to the other side of the street in 45 minutes. Have a wonderful Friday. I will check back in later.

Good afternoon friends!

Thought I'd drop in to say hi.

We had a wonderful trip to Hawaii. Spent time at the beach and in the water. Tried my new full face snorkel mask which was a success. Visited 6 National Parks on two islands. Two of out three hotels were the most luxurious we have ever stayed in. I am spoiled. Did a lot of sight seeing and viewing Oahu and Hawaii. On my laptop now, where its easier to type. Will try to post a few pictures from my iPad later.

We got home in time to celebrate Easter with Sarah and her family. The next weekend we went to a park in Severna Park and met both kids and their families there for a nice visit. Then we went out to dinner. Then we headed home

(This is for the Marylanders.) We looked online at traffic and decided it would be a nicer drive to go across the Bay Bridge and go up the eastern shore, vs I95. Well, Sarah crossed a few minutes before us, which was good because we ended up being involved in a 5 car accident. Traffic in front of us stopped, so did the two vehicles after us. Unfortunately the next vehicle never even slowed down and crashed into the line of cars. Physically we are ok, but Jack's car, while drivable, is in the shop waiting for the estimator to look at it. Sarah did stop after crossing to bridge to make sure we were ok to get home. Andrew doesn't have to cross it but was calling us to be sure we were ok.

In other news, I got my first shingles shot last week. And Wednesday's adventure was to Lancaster. Our toaster died so we wanted to go to Reading China and Glass to get one, and, for the first time ever, we went to Shady Maple Smorgasbord for lunch. It was very good. I am not a buffet person because I eat too much but it was good.

We are now planning more trips. Sarah and I have worked together and planned a trip to Corpus Christa area and San Antonio next April for the total solar eclipse. It's a bucket list item for me as the next one isn't until 2044. Jack and I are planning a trip to National Parks in Utah and Arizona for this September.

Guess that's enough. I am not even going to try to read and catch up. Hope all are safe, well, and trying to enjoy life.

Beautiful pictures, Carol!🏝️I truly am so thankful to God that you and Jack were able to enjoy such an amazing trip! Beyond thanks to God that the two of you were okay! :car:can be fixed or replaced. You and Jack can't!:grouphug:

Thank you, Pollyanna for the cotton candy grape info and duckies, too! :)

Quiet afternoon here. I just finished reading a most touching LA Vin Scully tribute book that I had got dad as a birthday gift. Dad loved it, too. We will send it to our Cousin Steve as part of his birthday gift. I never met Vin Scully yet he made a lifetime difference to me.

Enjoy the rest of the day, friends.

I have never heard of cotton candy grapes, either. But I’d like to try them! 😝 @PollyannaMom I loved that duck!

@lynxstch The blue looks nice on the White House! (autocorrect “capitalized” - pun intended - that, I think it’s funny will leave it, lol). So glad Don was able to venture out and use the deck/ramp successfully. 🎉

@FlyingDumbo Glad Dad knows to give the hearing aids some time. They can be pretty uncomfortable, I find, and just weird to have in your ears. I only wear mine to work and as soon as I get out in the car, they come OUT! 😮‍💨 And I’m glad you’re taking baby steps to getting out a bit more! 👏

@Snowysmom Glad you can put the condo chapter behind you now, and hope everyone is feeling better.

@Breezy_Carol Nice pics, thanks for sharing. Glad you had a good time.

Thinking of all Quackers, here or if we haven’t seen them in a while.

Thanks for asking about DS. He is feeling ok, keeping things quiet for the last couple of days. He has follow up on Monday, so not back to work until at least Tuesday or afterward. He couldn’t do or hear pounding with nails or whirling with saws so DH worked on the pool deck outside today by himself. He got the old one completely down. DH is bummed out he has to go back to work Monday, he wishes he had another week. Yesterday DD and I went out to lunch and then had mani/pedis, it was nice to just relax a bit. DD and DH went to the movies tonight so DS and I are on our own for dinner. We’re deciding what to have, may order out. We made a meatloaf last night w mashed and carrots and it was good. Could have that again. Decisions, decisions. Made an apple cobbler with some older apples can’t wait to try it.

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone! 🐥

Carol Glad you had a nice time in Hawaii. Nice pictures.

@Pea-n-Me I hope your DS continues to get better.

I will have to look for the cotton candy grapes.

Good morning. It is supposed to rain all weekend, Not too happy about that. I walk alot on the weekends just to get out, do something, and clear my mind. Yesterday I was looking out at the bird feeder and there was a female cardinal eating seed off the ground. Then the male cardinal flew in to eat too. He would come and go over the afternoon. I wanted to get a picture but every time I would go to get my phone he would leave. I guess he is camera shy. Plus I would have to open the slider to get a picture and the birds would fly away.

Not sure what I will be doing this weekend. I know I will be working a bit. I am pretty much ready for the cruise. I have my clothes ready and all the other stuff like sunscreen. I hope to see Jeff and family. Kenny has the kids so they will be around. I made chocolate chip cookies yesterday for everyone. I have some to take to Jeff's.

Have a good day.
