Quality of Stephanie Dawn vs. Vera Bradley?

Is anyone familiar with both of them that can compare the quality? I have some Vera Bradley, but would prefer American made.

Since VB is now made in China, I'd like to purchase SD instead.

Is the quality similiar?

I have 1 SD bag and several VB bags. I do not notice any difference in the quality of the bags, realize though that I do not put a lot of wear and tear on my bags. I am always gettting complimented on my SD pattern though! Most think it's a VB, but I have to correct them. If you like a SD, I say buy it - you won't be dissappointed!

Just bought 4 SD a couple weeks ago. The material doesnt seem as soft but I tugged on the straps and closures and they seem to be as stong as the VB bags.

Below is a link to the Spring/Summer 2011 SD catalogue, and if the pictures are any indication of quality, I will stick with VB, which I think I will do anyway. I'm kind of a VB snob and have no problems with any of mine and they get alot of wear and tear and several of mine have been washed more than once and still look new.

Not all VB are made in China. My girls and I have a variety of VB, (wristlets, bags, and id cases), most are made in the USA. Only one is made in China.

I currently have 3 pieces with me and all 3 were Made in China, one is a tote in Very Berry Paisely, a cosmetic case and a turnlock wallet, colors that were from last summer and fall. I will check my other pieces when I get home.

I had never even heard of SD (not even once). I own several VB purses and they have always held up. They look very similar but i would still choose VB over SD.

I have a mini-hipster (got it over a year ago) and a wallet that's older and they are both made in china.

I prefer, if possible, to give my business to an American company.

Not true. I believe right now, everything has been moved to China.

Regardless, I prefer to do business with a company that values American workers.

VB is not all made in China, plus VB has over 1300 American workers, so I would assume they value American workers.

Since they moved some of their stuff to China, I don't believe they do.

This isn't a debate about VB and I'm not interested in hearing from company cheerleaders.

I like Vera and I do pretty well with the one day sales so I would have to agree about picking Vera.

KAM Industries in Van Wert, Ohio used to make Vera and she took her manufacturing elsewhere. Stephanie Dawn are now made at KAM Industries.
