Anybody been to the Quality Inn Plaza on International Drive? Booked my holiday there this morning and am going in September.

Just looking for any general comments about the place/rooms etc.

I know it's a bit late now as I've already booked, but it's always nice to know from people who have actually been there rather than relying on a brochure.

Thanks in advance,

Sebastian

I've stayed there a few times and find it to be fine.

Rooms are a good size, not the most luxurious but clean. They have fridges, coffee makers and microwaves in them.

The hotel is quite big and though its tidy and well kept its not a 'new' looking hotel. Its location is good. The pointe mall is opposite and there is some nice shops and places to eat. There is a huge toy shop and cinema.

Some rooms are better than others in the hotel and if you don't like your room the staff are very helpful and accomodating to make sure you are happy. They have a bar which is uysually filled with british holiday makers that has pool tables and a good stocked mini mart. However as in most places the prices are high than those at walmart etc so be careful.

It a good basic well priced hotel that has an excellent location.

Hope you have a great holiday.

We stayed at the QIP in October 2001 and found it fine.

It is a basic, budget hotel with no frills, but it seemed clean and well looked after.

There are 3 pools - the pool closest to the reception building seemed the busiest and was well used until quite late at night - so try not to get a room overlooking the pool ;)

It is very popular with Brits. judging by the number of UK football shirts on display.

We did try the restaurant once for breakfast and found it a bit lacking in choice and quality - there are many better places for breakfast within easy walking distance (Ponderosa, Sizzler etc.).
The little grocery shop in the hotel seemed to be well stocked, but the gift shop was not really worth bothering with apart from for getting your UK papers :)

The best thing about the hotel is it's located. Close to the Pointe Orlando shopping mall and other Idrive attractions, shops and restaurants. There is a I-Ride trolley bus stop just outside the hotel as well.

When we were last there they were extending the reception area and there was some building work - but I would imagine all the work is completed by now :)

we stayed at the sister hotel the quality inn international just down the road when we went to florida for the first time back in 1990

i actually prefer the i-drive location as things are within easy walking distance

last year we had a villa in rolling hills near the 192 and you can't walk to things as easily as you can down i-drive

just my 2 penneth

Thanks everyone,

Seems like the hotel is going to be fine - as long as it's clean I don't really mind, as it's not like you spend long in your hotel room when you're staying in Orlando!

For the price I paid, I wasn't really expecting luxury anyway, just somewhere clean to get some sleep.

Can't wait to go now, and I was only last there 2 years ago!

Thanks again for all your comments,

Sebastian
