QSDP vs DDP

help ! we can not decide which plan to go with, last time we had the DDP and felt it took so long to eat at the TS meals. Plus 2 of our kids will be counted as adults and do not eat "adult" type meals or even finish them. If they do order of an adult menu they most like share an entree.. so I am also thinking maybe OOP would be better.

For those who have used QSDP how did you like it ??

of course if free dining becomes available we will take advantage of that :)

We switched from the regular dining plan to the QS meal plan when they stopped offering the regular plan to values for "free". I thought it would be awful to eat CS all of the time but then I sat down and checked out the menus (here and on allears.net) and found some great CS places!

Now we're to the point where I really like paying OOP vs the QS plan - it allows us to spread out desserts (we can just eat a meal then have a snack/ dessert later instead of with the meal).

I suggest you check the menus and think about what food you all would eat and what you could easily share.

We're a family of 3 (dd is 12) and we always split 2 CS meals at a time (ie lunch/ dinner - usually have breakfast in the room). It's plenty of food for the 3 of us. If we're on the "free" dining plan (I say "free because of course if you get it you give up any room only type discount) we will get the dessert with the meal but if we're paying OOP we'll get something yummy later in the afternoon or even late morning which is fun and I feel like spreads the food out a bit more.

Our budget for food for the 3 of us is $50 / day when paying OOP and we eat really well on it. Of course as I mentioned we eat breakfast in the room and we do drink either fountain / free water or sodas that we bring into the park (so we don't have to pay for drinks).

When we "gave up" the regular dining plan I thought we'd miss the TS - especially the character meals but actually we didn't. And I just love the freedom of having no ADRs to make/ get to.

Hi
we are a family of 5,and we have have boys aged 7,7,10.... we love our TS meals and could not do a trip of only QS but as we come from the uk our trips are always 2/3wks! so qs for that long would be awful:rotfl2:
we enjoy the fact that we can sit and enjoy a nice meal together whether it lunch or dinner this yr we have upgraded the kids to the adult plan since the 10yr old is now a Disney adult we thought if we upgraded the others they could share meals and we could do even more TS places plus they will share a adult QS for breakfast and either lunch or dinner if we arenot doing a TS..

They will let you share at nearly every TS except 1or2 and at any of the TS if you dont fancy dessert they will box it up for you for later we did this a few times for the kids to eat later before bed,if your worried about your child not eating adult food they will allow them to pick from the kids menu and bring you out a larger portion of it,or you could do what we are doing for a few TS pay child for kid meals and save the credit for a SIGNATURE treat:woohoo:
i suppose it also comes down to your touring style I need that nice break and so do my boys :)

"They will let you share at nearly every TS except 1 or 2 "

I hate to contradict anyone but this statement is just not accurate. They won't let anyone share at any of the buffets and that's a lot of the TS meals.
