I have been on a quest to see if we can do TS for 1 meal a day and QS for the rest of the day.

My question is which dining plan would apply? I would hate to overpay for DDP when all I needed was the QS, but would hate to have a large expense at the end of our trip because we did not get the correct dining plan.

This will be our first time at WDW and am SUPER excited about it...LOL:yay:

The standard DDP gived you 1 ts, 1 qs and 1 snack per day. That would be your best ddp bet without overspending but I would def compare to what you would pay oop as well.

The qsdp wouldnt give you any ts meals and the dxdp would give you 3 sit down a day but is not worth it at all if you are going to use a lot of credits as qs.

There isnt a 1 ts and 2 qs option unfortunately.

We have always done the quick service dining plan (which is 2 qs meals and 1 snack per person x night of stays) & then schedule 2 or 3 ts meals for our trip (we pay for this oop). Because the ts meals tend to serve generous portions, typically the days we eat a ts meal we only use 1 qs meal. As a result, we have been able to use 3 qs credits on some days.

This strategy seems to work well for us. We choose not to do a ts meal each day because it is alot of food and takes longer than quick service (thus cutting in to some of our park time).

However, if you want to do 1 ts per day, I would go with the standard "dining plan".

Hope this helps :)

It's is us exactly. For our upcoming trip I figured the cost of upgrading to standard dining and the cost of the TS we planned (just the items that DDP would cover). I'm ahead about $100 paying OOP for the TS we want, and then still have the QS meals left on top of that.

If you chose this route, you can make your TS cheaper by choosing breakfast or lunch and/or by sharing. Or if any of your TS are signatures... that is not a great TS value on DDP

If you want 1 TS a day... your best bet is regular dining or paying for everything out of pocket. If you did QS and then paid OOP for TS every day..I bet you would have lots of QS credits left.

The regular dining plan would provide one TS credit, one CS credit and one snack credit per person per night of your stay.

That obviously wouldn't cover both a quick service breakfast and lunch, but if you want a table service a day, this is probably the plan you want.

The deluxe plan allows for 3 meal credits (interchangeable between TS and CS) per night, but if you use 2/3 of those credits for quick service meals you are not going to get value out of the plan.

If you got the quick service plan, that would be 2 CS and 1 snack per person per night and the CS credits would not cover TS meals. So if you did a TS per night you'd be paying out of pocket for one TS meal a day. Better to be paying out of pocket for one CS meal a day.
