I have looked at the "travelling by plane" thread in the sticky

but wasnt sure if to post Qs there ? :confused3

anyhooooo...

even though we havent been on the first of this yrs trips yet,i am of course ( in my head) planinng another :)

we plan to get APs in Aug,and I would love to take the boys during xmas season, just for a few days

we usually go by ferry or tunnel, but would like to fly this time.

what i was wondering was, those of you regular fliers,
do you book as soon as dates are released ? or do you wait ?

who is best / cheapest to fly with ?

We live in South Wales, but don't mind flying from Brum,or London etc

don't think you can go from Cardiff / Bristol to CDG or Orly anyway ??

any help would be most appreciated :goodvibes

For companies like Easyjet, it's often best to book when the dates are released. Don't leave it until the last minute as the prices tend to get expensive. Keep a look out for sales as they tend to have them quite often.

I fly from Liverpool so always use Easyjet, but HERE is an excellent website for finding cheap flights.

Easyjet fly from Bristol to CDG and you can often get flights for £50 per adult return (inc. tax)

Hi Rachel

Flybe go from Cardiff to CDG (hoping to get my flights for October with Airmiles with them, but dates/flights aren't up yet that far ahead)

Easyjet or AirFrance from Bristol, again Easyjet flights aren't up yet although AirFrance are and are available through Airmiles.

Have only flown once before via a package with BA fom Bristol. :)

thanks both

I shall keep a look out on those sites then

is it 6 months in advance the dates are released ?

If you register your email address with the three airlines mentioned they inform when sales/offers occur. You might not get your email immediately they are released but at least you won't miss the sale altogether.

Just to let you know the Flybe flight from Cardiff orginates in Belfast city, stops in Cardiff to let down and pick up passengers. I flew this way last Wednesday from Belfast. We were delayed 2 hours because the plane were all iced up and it wasn't the first flight out. I wanted them to give me a tin of deicer and a scraper and I'd have done it myself!:) Other than the delay it was fine. But we flew home with Easyjet and it was MUCH quicker in a nice little jet rather than the putt-putt propeller plane Flybe use! But I do also like the fact you don't have to stampede to the plane like Easyjet.

I think it is easier to ask a question here where it will be seen by more than in an FAQ :thumbsup2

The general rule of thumb is if you see a flight at a price you like then book it. Since as the flight fills costs are more than likely to go up :)
