If I purchase the DDE through the mail, will they send me a voucher to exchange at the Guest Relations or Customer Service? If so, will the membership expire a year from when I purchase it or when I exchange it.

Also, do I need to show my AP each time I use the DDE?

If there are any other suggestions on DDE or tips, please let me know. This would be the first time we will be getting it. So any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks.:)

I bought mine over the phone & they sent the actual card in the mail, not a voucher. I think it's active as soon as you pay for it...not sure about that one. You don't have to show your pass everytime you use the card, but several times I have been asked to show ID so make sure you have that with you at all times. Tell the server you have the DDE when you order & make sure they give you the bill that shows the discount on it...have a great time!

You can now buy the DDE card at any guest services window at WDW. Just show your AP and your ID, pay the fee and you will get your DDE card.

Thanks for the info.

Do I have to make sure that my AP won't expire during a DDE membership?

I'm not sure if I am renewing my AP for next year, but I want to get the DDE.

If you order the DDE ahead of time they will send you the card itself. It will be a "hard" card (like a CC) and will be good for 13 months. If you get it at Disney, it will be good for 13 months to the day (got our new one 6/8/08, good thru 7/8/08) and it will be the same material as the AP.

You may need to show ID, but won't need your AP to use your DDE card. Not a big deal to us because we keep our card with our AP's

You'll get a list of restaurants that it's good with when the card comes. Read it carefully. There are several CS that it can be used at (Flame Tree :thumbsup2 ) and don't forget the free valet parking when dining.

A current AP allows you a discount for the DDE..It doesn't need to be current after that...I never had to show the AP after that...How much you paid for the DDE is not relevant in the restaurants.I usually used my room key to pay which had my name on it.

Thanks for the info.

As long as your AP is valid when you buy the DDE, it'll be fine :goodvibes

Thanks everyone for the info. :)

This forum is truly a great resource since most are very happy to share their info and experience. :thumbsup2
