Qeustion about Jiko's and the filet and Mac and cheese?

I do not see the filet with the mac and cheese have they gotten rid of it, looks like its with some risotto? So disappionted really Anyone been there recently know? Thanks

Yes, they changed chefs and the mac and cheese went by the wayside.

You could try asking for it...sometimes Disney restaurants will make retired items on request (Figaro fries at Pinocchio's, cream cheese potatoes at Le Cellier). Seems to depend on the server and what chef is working that night. Worst case is they say no.

It was no longer on the menu in Jan or May of this year but both times we requested it, it was available. I plan on having it again in Sept!

I also requested it in May and it seemed like this was a common request and it was no problem. I found that the au jus on this dish was really overpowering, so make sure you enjoy very rich flavours if you order this.

The "risotto" is not really risotto-- it was a rich creamy hominy dish that was truly delicious. It pairs very well with the filet.

Thank you, all of you for the heads up for reqeusting it.... I'm going in Dec, think they will still be honoring mac n cheese request? Would so love if they did.. I'm sure like the other poster stated the new risotto is very nice, I just enjoyed that meal very much... Thankyou

Agree, had much better Mac n cheese, now if you paired my homemade mac n cheese it would be a home run for me... I like the combination of the two together and eat a fork full with the pasta and steak.... It makes no sense on paper but my taste buds say differently

I agree. I think the red wine reduction is what really makes that dish anyway. I don't care what starch they pair with it.

Some have said this, also they say the new Risotto is very nice also.... sounds like a corn mixture.... I agree without the red reduction sauce the dish would be a lose for me......

I've heard several accounts that if you ask for it, they will make it for you. I hope so - I hadn't had a chance to try it myself yet

I know they still make it as a vegetarian option often, so it's probably still OK to ask for it, but the hominy risotto is sooooo good (so get the mac and cheese on the side and share it for the memories! ). Also, for an awesome mac and cheese that's still on the menu, head to Artist's Point - different than Jiko's, but crazy, crazy good!

I think your on to something, I think that solution will solve many mac n cheese regrets.... Do want to see how the new hominy Risotto taste like paired with the reduction sauce... Is the rissotto on the sweeter side? Thank you BTW....
