For as many times as I've been to DLR I really shouldn't need to ask this but...

We're considering staying at the Quality Inn on Manchester and I was looking at Google Maps yesterday and couldn't figure out exactly where the entrance is if we walk to the parks. I've never walked before (always drove or took the ART) so I'm not totally clear on where the pedestrian entrance is by looking at that map. Can anybody direct me to a better map?

Also, would you walk or drive to Downtown Disney? I know it's basically as far as the parks, but there is some free parking there. (we are walking to the parks so we don't have to pay for parking). Can somebody remind me of how long? I am thinking it's like 2 hours and if you buy food you get your parking validated. Am I remembering correctly?

Thanks :goodvibes

DTD offers 3 free hours parking and if you eat in a Table Service restaurant you get a little more time. Also if you go to the movies you get more time.

From Disney re: DTD Parking
Free Parking

Arrive via foot, monorail or automobile. The Downtown Disney District parking lot is conveniently located next to the action and offers free parking for up to 3 hours — or up to 5 hours of free parking with validation from participating locations.

Sorry can't help you on the location of your motel/hotel. You can enter DLR from either the West or East. The pathway from the West is located near the tram area so you can enter from West (St.? Ave?) where it intersects with the entrance to DLH and the East is located off of Harbor.

Go to mapquest.com and get directions from the Quality Inn to 1313 S. Harbor (DLR). That should give you a good map.

Okay I just looked for you and you will walk West on Manchester and run right into one of the entrances.

The Quality Inn is the hotel you see behind the Fairfield. But, there is no "short cut" except to walk all the way around. I recommend crossing Harbor at Manchester and walking up the Disneyland side. You can cut in through the tram area earlier and its a quieter walk.

I anticipated having to walk all the way around. Thanks for the advice!
