DH and I will be flying Continental from EWR (Newark) to MCO. (Song cancelled our flight!) We have first class seats, but can someone tell me if the first row is any better or worse than any other. I have looked on
http://www.disboards.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=16
but I'd really like to know first hand from someone who has flown on this plane. The best recommended seat is <sigh> already occupied...

No firsthand experience (I haven't sat in the first row of CO F), but on NW F the first row rarely has any floor storage---I think there is only one or two aircraft types in NW's fleet that has cutouts in the bulkhead. If you know the equipment you are scheduled for, www.seatguru.com can tell you one way or the other, but either way it beats the heck out of coach.

On the bright side, you get your drinks and meal before everyone else.

I can't speak for Continental but when I fly first class on other airlines I request the first row. There is extra space to stretch out. You don't have any underseat storage but you board before everyone else so there is plenty of overhead storage.

We have flown CO. first class many times. First row would be my first choice. We had reclining chairs with enough leg room for a basketball player. Having said that, any row in first class is great. Comfy seats and lots of room.
