PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

Thx. That video was very informative & I've subscribed... 👍
About standard views: While the Tower front/monorail view is a mess now due to road construction, that may be going on for quite a while. And depending upon actual room location/floor, constant traffic could be problematic for some.
I wouldn't mind limited views from Duo balconies being inset, but for some it could be disappointing.
It remains to be seen whether the lack of a gift shop/grocery/take-out in the Tower is an inconvenience for guests, but for sure that increases GCH people traffic by a lot. More lines, wait times, crowds? Make it make sense. 🤷‍♀️
I know I talked about the Volcano pool getting slammed with guest now, but yes, I think so too. The GCH entirety could get the same.

Made need a reservation at Kona in the future to get some Tonga Toast if staying elsewhere. The CC option may not be available to non guest.

I am 99% convinced that I should buy Polynesian direct right now. The only thing holding me back is concerns about the new rooms resulting in crowding (specifically for restaurants and transportation) and I would rather wait a few weeks to see if there are any complaints about that. Do we have any idea if contracts will "sell out" during that time? Are there any warning signs before it actually happens? As direct contracts begin depleting, do some use years start becoming unavailable while others are still available for sale?

@MerlinandtheMouse another scenario is possible for the gift the person received…
Back when BLT opened, there was someone by the user same puntagordabob (or something similar). They camped out right at 12:00am to checkin. They were officially the first guests to check into BLT (August 2009) (think it was not allowed until 7 am). They received a commemorative pin set limited edition of 1. It was really cool of Disney. Of course, 15 years ago was a lot different.

Several years ago, Disney changed policy so any point they have available can be sold as any use year.

I’d definitely wait until January. The price increase isn’t until February. Gives you time to see all the videos and reviews. They have plenty of points. Won’t have a problem with that. If a new buyer they may push a certain UY but do your research and explain you want a certain one and they usually try to make it happen. If already a member they will match your current UY. Waiting until January 2025 will give you 2024 UY points as a bonus, covering all UY’s at that time. The 1% thought you are having is what needs to hit 100% before the purchase. Have fun.

Marathon weekend is our first visit. Do you know if the race comes past the tower? Is there somewhere specific we would need to go to see the runners?

Both the Saturday Half Marathon and Sunday Marathon courses go past the Tower - runners will be going northbound on Floridian Way.

For the Half, it’s just past Mile 4. For the Full, it’s mile 7.5ish.

For the Half, Floridian Way is closed/modified through 7:45am, for the Full it’s through 8:30am.

Other than the current construction mess in that area and Disney sometimes being weird with where they let spectators be along the course, it’s typically a good spot for spectators.

Another comparison, we were at Riviera preferred view 7th floor (same floor we have at Island Tower). Loved the view. However, it’s set back from the lake there. Great to overlook the quiet pool.

You can see Spaceship earth from your tower studio throne (toilet) at RIV and there are no view delineations in those units.

TV (tower view or toilet view).

I’m glad everyone has now seen what I’ve been mad about that the Duo studios pricing decisions on anything but standard are detached from reality. But I’m very complimentary that it’s only a modest slice of the total number of Duo Studios. I’ll be curious to see if those units make it to the 7 month window intermittently. Maybe they’ll be pressured to ‘drop’ preferred and drop premium duos points requirements down a category.

Staying on the 4th floor premium duo for the night. I took a video earlier but that won’t post here so here’s some terrible screenshots from that video lol. It’s very private feeling but yeah the recessed aspect is not great. @ehh you have it exactly correct that if you stand all the way to the right of the balcony you can see the castle and likely fireworks but I mean completely pressed against that wall lol there’s a Christmas party tonight so sadly no HEA for us. We’re actually in a duo SV for marathon weekend so we’ll see just how terrible those views are lol tbh I’d prefer the lower front grounds than a higher up preferred view of all the Floridian way construction but we’ll see.
Woof - for 30 points a night? (Actually 32 on Saturday, 28 on Sunday) That sort of stinks. But again for two night we might give it a go.

Yeah that’s rough. I think our night was 22pts? But it was a weekday in a low season. The room is really beautiful and feels really spacious though! Much roomier than I expected a duo to feel. And I know the bed is a queen-size Murphy but it felt bigger than the standard queen beds and I’m sure that’s just in my head but for some reason it really did lol

Selling out will take at least three years. You only have to worry about the price going up, which is happening February 10th when base price goes from $225 to $235.

Executive Summary for those that want 20 minutes of their life back: “It’s very nice….But it’s just not The Poly repeated 100x….I want 70s CA style tiki….”

Anyone watched the penthouse villa tours from DVC Fan?
Very nice, but I am still so confused about the top floor balcony overlooking the penthouse below (at the end of the video you can see over the balcony to the one below)
So the Penthouse is hit or miss on which side view you will get? Ouch

No I don’t think so, you can chose between preferred or theme park view. But it’s hit or miss which floor you get (either top floor with the small balcony or next floor down with the larger balcony that appears to be overlooked by the room above).

Ok, that's definitely better. Who would get a 2BR Penthouse and not chose TPV? I wouldn't, but I guess it's a thing.

Good thing the Poly in both forms (cash and DVC) still exists and will be probably even easier to book than before!

I don’t think I want absolutely every opinion served up through the lens of DVC users… but sometimes I think people get mad they don’t like something that isn’t really being made for them in the first place.

It’s like when we got breathless reviews in 2019 from influencers staying in the RIV Tower units for cash. Like you are really not understanding the point of these units. Ya they are indeed a garbage deal at 500USD a night… but who is the sucker there?

Initial thoughts...I think everyone will pick this apart piece by piece (limited breakfast option, too many room categories, no gift shop, etc.), but at the end of the day I think it is a wonderful addition to our DVC options. Probably won't buy here, but I'm excited to stay here and enjoy the resort as a whole!
