PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

I had a quick weekend trip booked in early February at VGF and last week when we were allowed to book rooms I thought I would just put a waitlist in for a standard DUO studio. I never expected it to actually come through, but to my surprise it did. I don't know if we will like the room size or layout, but since it's just two nights, it should be fine to try it out and see. Then in May we are booked in an original Poly Studio, which will be our first time there as well. I am glad we are getting the opportunity to stay at both.

It's really coming together and looking great! While I wish there were more palm trees on the lagoon/theme park facing side, I get why they're not planting any there. If you block the view, then they'd either have to have less TPV rooms on the lower floors or credit points back to DVC owners when they inevitably complain they can't see Magic Kingdom from their TPV room.

so far this looks like a 9/10 for me! I can't wait for our stay there in February.

I thought I wouldn't be able to book a tower room for more than a night in 2025. But I found five nights in May, including a weekend day. With SSR/OWK points. Not bad.

We're going for 8 nights in May and staying in a Longhouse Lake View room and I was happy a week ago when our waitlist for the last couple of nights came through. But the more comments I read about the Tower makes me kind of wish we were staying there to check it even just a couple of nights. But with a young toddler still in a pack and play, that extra half bathroom at Poly has worked out fantastic for us in the past. We'll get to the Tower someday!

Longhouse studio is perfect for you right now. That second shower space with a toddler is an absolute game changer when it comes to staying in a studio to save points.

The tower opens in less than three weeks. Has anyone seen a menu posted yet for the restaurant / Wailulu? Also, it's been added to the dining plan now as 1 credit table service option, so take that for what it's worth, but nearly everything in that category (again, I said nearly) is traditional table service, with reservations, etc. The page for Wailulu clearly says, in a red font, opening Dec 17.

Looking at these pictures, I noticed all the lounge chairs and umbrellas at the pool.
What I didn't see was any cabanas, such as were in all the plans that were released over the past year or two.
I am guessing that they finally calculated the capacity of the pool area and realized that the cabanas would have taken too much space, leading to an increase of the "we can never find a chair" complaints.
Either that or the cabanas were a victim of budget cuts, lol.
I am sure they can always add them at a later date.

I popped over on my way to breakfast at VGF this morning. It looks like there will be three cabanas to me. It’s hard to show in a photo, and it’s 47 degrees out 🤣 so I wasn’t climbing any stairways for an aerial photo. The three cement sea turtle planters are In recessed areas by the gate. The center one (photo below) has the frame for a couch. There are some crates staged in this area and I’m assuming whatever is inside belongs to this “premium” seating area. I could see these three alcoves being designated as up charged seating.

Thanks for the update.
I’m glad to hear that the cabanas are still going to be an option.
I’m sure that there will be a charge, but am hoping that the price will be in line with the other cabanas in the area.

Over at Pixar Hotel and VGC they have loveseats with a beverage holders that are called rental pods and at Pixar they have these little boxes with slight cover over chairs that are also classified as cabanas. At VGC, they also push two lounge chairs together under an umbrella, with extra cushions and towels, and call those a daybed cabana. Somehow I think that something like that will show up here.Screenshot 2024-11-30 at 8.53.21 AM.png

Yes, I agree, at least at this time it doesn’t appear that there will be a traditional cabana structure with cabinets, fans, tv, refrigerator, etc. but there is certainly room for any of these patio type options in those three alcoves. I’m curious to see what is in those crates they have waiting over there.

Maybe there's a slide in them!🤭

I just watched a video on Facebook taken by someone obviously much taller than myself 🤣 and I noticed what looks like power outlets in the back curb of the cove pool alcoves 😮 that’s promising! They plan on plugging something in 👍

I'm surprised at the enthusiasm for paid cabanas/seating areas, to be honest! Personally given the smallish size of this pool and overall deck, I hope they don't use them as a paid option, in my humble opinion. I think I'm more in the camp of they may be like what's at the Boulder Ridge pool, but that's just my personal guess. But having frequently rented cabanas/seating at other resorts often, I get the appeal! I do keep my eye on the Poly pool page to see if they add anything about paid seating, like what's on there about the Oasis Patios.

Also one of the original permit plans had six of those setback squares which I 'think' is what got built, or something close to it.
