PVB in October... What are my odds?

Hi! I am new to DVC so I don't know the ins and outs quite yet... I am trying to book a room at PVB in mid October. The dates are Wednesday-Sun, and I was able to snag Wednesday and Saturday, but not Thursday or Friday. I am waitlisted for those two days. Any ideas on my odds of getting those two days? I have a back up room just in case, but I'd much prefer to stay on the monorail.

Also, do you suggest waitlisting the days separately or together?... My concern is that with the two days together I can click the box to cancel my back up reservation to cover the points, but that if I book separately and snag one of the days I won't have enough points to cover it without canceling the back up (if that makes sense?). I would have to allow the account to pull from next year's points to cover the one night until I cancel my back up. I don't know how this affects the points and if I can roll them forward if I pull them back, or if they will now have to be used this use year.

Any advice would be helpful! Sorry if that was confusing...

I had a waitlist come thru for October a few years back. October is so popular now, it is hard to get a villa if you don't book at 11 months.

I would waitlist each night separately, and make a note to cancel your other reservation if the waitlist comes thru. That will free up your points to book the Poly studio.

I would also check the RAT multiple times per day and fill your own waitlist if you see a studio open up.

I have filled my own waitlists multiple times doing it this way.

The Thursday and Friday night Poly dates that you are missing are probably going to be around Halloween party dates. Those are extremely popular dates to be on the monorail. Good luck to you. Have a back up plan and be happy to have a DVC reservation for October

My concern is that with 2 nights at PVB booked and another 4 days at another resort as back up I only have 13 pts left in the bank. If I book them separately and one comes through I'd have to cancel my back up in order to avoid pulling pts from next year, but I'd still be short 1 night at PVB.... I don't know how pulling pts from next year works? If I do that can I roll the forward if I don't use them? Or if I pull them into this use year do I have to use them?

You have to use them with in the Use year that they are borrowed into as they will expire at the end of the current use year.

It's only March. There's an excellent chance you will get your days.

You could separate your back up reservation into 2 two day reservations and have each one cancelled out as you get your wait list.
