putting $$ on account at All-Stars???

Our Fairytale package is all paid . but I was wondering about $$ for all those PS's. IF we bring $1500, can we give the front desk $1000 to put on our account so we can charge things back to our room and just keep the rest of the cash for small incidentals. Anyone done this before???

I believe you can. We leave our credit card number and charge everything back to the room, but I think I've read that you can do this with cash or a check. Correct me if I'm wrong DISers.

I had posted the same question on another board, and although I did get some good answers. I still decided to check with the resort myself.

I was still unsure about doing this on a cash only basis, as I do not own a credit card, or have a debit card.

So...long story short, I called ASMovies a few minutes ago, and got it straight from them..

Yes, you can do this on a cash only basis, you can just give them the amount you want put into the account, and they will add it as a credit to your room account.

Im glad they are willing to do this..I didn't feel safe keeping it in the room safes, and I really didn't want to carry it around with me all the time either.

I would be interested in finding this out, cause I would rather give them a $1000 in cash up front then to worry about charging all my CCs.

I also wonder if you can make payments in advance, I tend to have a problem with holding on to cash, it always asks me to spend it =)

Instead of carrying all that cash with you to WDW. Why don't you just send a check ahead of time to apply to your account. You will have a credit balance on your ressie that you will be able to charge against. Only take what cash you are actually comfortable with carrying. I've never done this myself but I think it would be worth a try.

Thanks for all the information. I'm sure we will spend all that we put on account, so I don't have to worry about getting any $$ back . I may just send down a check though. I don't want to get a huge bill on my credit card a month after the vacation. Also, I tend to spend more when I use my credit card.

DW and I do this all the time. Every stay we have given the front desk cash at check in and they have always credited our room. Then we just go ahead and charge away. Never had a problem.
