Tried to find shark glasses, like highballs but not seeing anything, it's such a popular movie I feel like there should be more merchandise. Picked up some amazing shark stuff from the Cape Cod small business Cape Shark for Fathers day, love the logo.

Might prepare food from the movie to celebrate. I found a person who made a list of foods spotted in the movie eliotseats but I'm pretty sure they were eating classic Shake n Bake chicken, a potato and string beans when Hooper stops in to visit Chief Brody at his home. The best scene for viewing the plate is the adorable one with Brody and his son at the table

I watch it when I can after all this time . And I pretty much always try to avoid when Hopper sees Ben Gardeners head pop out from his boat or I jump lol

The scene when Quint talked a lot the USS Indianapolis always gets me.

I saw a documentary some years back and it was very interesting about how the sharks weren’t working and all the things that were going wrong etc. Richard Dreyfus and Roy said that when they would go in vacation they wouldn’t go in the water after the movie.

That is such a gruesome scene!

The Indianapolis scene is amazing, I totally agree - makes the audience connect with Quint who was mostly unlikeable up until that point.

We live near the Cape and are kicking around the idea of making our way to the Vineyard this summer. There was supposed to be a big 50th to do this year but I read it fell apart, shame.

love the movie.

the book was hugely popular when I was a teen- I remember some friends were disappointed that they did'nt include the whole large subplot about hooper and the sherriff's wife having an affair (pretty racy reading for a teen to get at the library in the early 70's :scared1: ) but they liked the changes to hooper's character that made him more likeable.

I have never understood why Jaws became so popular when it first came out in the 70's. But my mom and I saw part of Jaws on Tubi and we thought it was unappealing but I think it started the fad of shark movies and I think Jaws became such a hit movie because of it's adventure and action. How Jaws 2 got made as a sequel i'll never ever understand because Jaws should've only been made and Jaws was never meant to have a sequel

as utterly terrible as they are I enjoy the 'sharknado' movies jaws inspired :rotfl:

This just makes me even more sad that they got rid of the ride ☹️ such a good film.
When we went in the Fall I did miss the ride. I feel like space could have been made to keep a section of the shark and a part of the dock for a photo up out of nostalgia, so many rides are historic maybe some small nod could be saved.
