putting cash on your room charge

I know this has been addressed but search is down and I really need an answer. Trying to budget for trip. I guess really two questions. First...we are staying at the CR for two nights before we move over to BWV for 6 nights. I'm assuming that we don't have to put our credit card down for the CR if we don't want to? I'd rather just put it all on my credit card for those two days. But, second question...when I get to BWV, if I have a check, can I put that against my room charging ability? I would love to give them a check out of my debit acct. and the rest on my credit card. Is this possible? I really don't want to carry around a lot of cash for those two days at the CR. THanks guys.

Why not just use your debit card to pay down some of the expenses. No need to use a check. We use our debit card to do this with no problems.

I'm not sure about writing a check but I do know you can put cash on your card. We did that just last week. They get a little confused about it but it is possible. I get the idea that not everyone (The CMs at the front desk) knows exactly how to do it. It worked very smoothly for us once our CM figured out how to set it up. If you do it this way be sure to keep all reciepts and compare it to your account bill. There have been rumors of some Cms accidently charging your card twice for the same charge. We requested a copy of our account bill every other day or so just to make sure we knew how much money we had on our card still. On the bottom of your bill, it will show up as a credit and it will look like (-$450.)

I start buying travelers checks months in advance, that way I don't spend our Disney money.
When we check in, we put those on our account. Hubby gets writer's cramp from signing all the checks over
We also ask to see the charges every other day so we can check discrepancies and balances.
If we've spent too much , I just take money out at the ATM machine in the lobby and put it on our account.
