I purchased a purple band with HM hitchhiking ghosts on it last Fall at the MK underneath Space Mountain. Love it. However, I find the new thin style doesn't seem to be as secure as the old model so I'd recommend you either buy a 3 pack of the band sliders when you get to a park or wrap a hair elastic around it. Also, the magic bandits don't snap in as securely as with the old band. If you want to bling your band, I'd just get the sliders instead. Enjoy your purple band!
I had no idea that they'd changed the bands?!
I'll be sure to pack some thin hair ties with me for extra security!
If you love purple but don't get a purple band, you can take the band you do get and strap it onto your wrist so tightly that your entire hand/arm turn purple. Problem solved!
Now that's an idea!!
I'm glad you're excited about your purple magic band. Sometimes it's the little things that make us happy.
Enjoy having that big rubber strap wrapped around your sweaty arm when you visit in August

I suspect that when we go in July, my magic band will be secured in my pocket or around a belt loop or anywhere other than on my wrist.
And not to derail the thread, but it isn't only one-day passes that had a price increase. Multi-day passes went up an average of about 8% I think. I don't know about anyone else but my income sure didn't go up 8%.
The bands never bothered me one bit last time we were there, and we hit the water parks and played mini golf in scorching direct sun, I think I'll be ok.
Plus, I'm a girl, I've usually got a hair tie on my wrist, so I'm used to that.
And yes they did, I misspoke. Everyone seems to be up in arms about the tired pricing, I've not really seen any outrage on the regular ticket price increase, but then, they go up every year, so it's no different than every other year in the last decade.
Plus, I don't go every year, so the increases don't bother me as much.
ETA: since my last trip, the AUD has dropped roughly 15-20 cents per dollar, so I'm actually not just dealing with 2 years of 8% increases, but the difference in the dollar.
It is what it is. If it's too expensive, we don't go. It's simple. No point in whining about it, that's life. As Corey said, I can't afford bora bora either, so I don't go.
