If we purchase DW theme park tickets ahead of time can they block access if park hits max allowed due to Covid?

There is the possibility of not being able to make a park reservation even if you have a ticket. A ticket does not 100% guarantee entrance. Watch the park reservations calendar for dates and ticket types that are blocked. There are multiple park ticket type reservations.

It is recommended you make park reservations soon after purchasing your ticket if visiting during busier times. As recommended by others, keep an eye on the Park Availability Calendar to ensure parks are not filling. If they do, even with a park ticket you will not be able to make a reservation for a park any that reservations have reached capacity.

You have to make a park reservation, if you have a reservation you will get in.

As others have noted, IF you have a park reservation, you WILL get in the park. Without a park reservation, you will not get in.

Thank you all for replying!
I purchased the tickets with a date selected through UT so does that meet the requirement or do you have to also select date on DW my Disney page?
thanks

The theme park reservation is not only for the specific date but also indicates which park you want to enter that day. You do this on the WDW site or app after you link your ticket to your account.

if you have a park reservation, you are in, and you make that ahead of time. Park reservations are separate from specific day ticket purchase, and you must have a reservation to enter a park.

However, if the park reservations run out, you're out of luck.
