Purchasing resale vs through DVC

Once a resort is sold out, all improvements are paid for by owners via capital reserves. So, while owners don’t choose the materials and design during the refurbs,

It just wouldn’t make a lot of sense to make wild changes as at that Point.

Thee main thing that happens is dumbing down, really. A resort will have the nicest fixtures of its life at inception.

Poly resale is about $25-30K for 150 points. It's just a lot higher.

Is 150 the amount you need?

I originally thought I wanted to do low entry so I did 50 points resale at SSR ($7,689) - waiting for account to be created
Then I saw a great deal on a 50 pt AUL and bought that ($7,672) - waiting for docs to be signed
I'm hoping that GFV is closer to 207, because then I'll buy another 50 points
And when DLT is released I will probably buy more there unless its really high priced, because I'm in California

So you may want to consider starting small and then adding on as you have more $$$

The Poly will still be worth $20,000 at the end of your 20 year period.

But $20k may only be worth $7k in todays dollars.

IMO, PVB and VGF getting murphy beds in their recent refurbs isn't “dumbing down” and I am excited to try all the resorts once those sofa beds are removed since I refuse to sleep on/in one.

But theming can be easily tweaked during a refurb with new paint, bedding and flooring and the recent trend to go with subtle changes and all white bedding may seem like we are getting less.

On the other side, there is what they did to BWV and BCV, and also the stuffing of the twin Murphy beds everywhere to pile in more guests.
