Purchasing current UY points past banking deadline

I've seen many say that DVD will bank current UY *direct* points purchased after the banking deadline. Is this something that must be done at the time of purchase? If wanting to have them immediately banked is it enough to have it requested before purchase in an email with a guide or will it need to be written into the contract?

I'm worried about telling the guide I want them banked, agreeing verbally to have points banked and then points are put into my account in current year and unbankable after July 31 deadline.

Is there anything to do on front end before purchasing to protect my interest? Thanks!

You get the points almost instantly just call MS and have them bank them. You will still be within the cancellation window and can threaten that if they wont do it.
 
THREATEN!! - I’ve bought 8 direct contracts and never had to threaten anyone - My guide usually takes care of everything for me - it was not written into the contract - and since you can see your points almost immediately, if it’s not done correctly, a quick call to MS will fix it for you...they’ve always been 100% accommodating - even re-allocated my future reservations to use the banked points and free up my current UY points...
 

DVD allows new purchasers to bank points purchased even if you are beyond banking deadline. All you need to do is ask it to have it done through your sales rep -- I never heard of any sales rep being unwilling to do it or falling to have it done as long you request it. You can make the request via email, but if you do so, ask the sales rep to respond to your email (which response then establishes that the sales rep actually received your request).

It is written in the home resort rules and regulations that this will happen when buying direct. So, it’s a common practice.

in addition, when buy direct, they will unborrow any points used in your membership and replace them with new direct points.
 
I called members services right after I added on and they did it right away.
 
I was about to ask this same question but did a search before clicking 'post.'
