Purchasing Cigars

Hello everyone..

I have 2 questions....

Where should I purchase Cigars while in St. Thomas and St. Maarten..I am looking for really good shops...Not really into the discount type...

and where in St. Maarten does the cruise ship actually dock?..

Not sure about where to buy cigars...never bought them. But the ship docks on the Dutch side, a short ferry ride to Great Bay Beach.

St. Thomas and St. Maarten have cigar and Liquor stores everywhere.....cubans at that....but ya gotta smoke them before you disembark!!!

Don't expect Cuban cigars in St. Thomas, which is part of the United States.

Others on this board have reported that you have to be careful in St. Maarten to make sure that you're dealing with a legitimate cigar store if you want real Cubans.

Oh, and, if you smoke 'em on the ship, please do so in an area where the smoke won't bother others. Thanks!

I agree with you..Our last cruise, we all waited until night, and either were on deck 10 or deck 7 aft...

Believe it or not..I hate cigarette smoke..I know go figure ..So I know how people can be bothered..

As far as cubans...Not really that interested..If I get 1 or 2 I will be happy..

I just did a couple of yahoo searches and found a company that a few cruiser gave good reviews. The company is called La Casa Del Habano located on Front Street No. 24. We'll be on the Oct 29th cruise. So, I'm sure you'll meet my husband on the smoking deck.
