Purchasing an add on and securing a reservation?

Hi, Just wondering - You know some people often say that as part of the buying in process their Guide has been able to get them a sought after reservation that the client themselves has had no luck in securing, well....

Has anyone ever got their guide to get them a booking when they have added on at one resort, but were seeking a reservation at a 'non-home' resort?

The reason I ask, is because I (think I!!) have decided to buy additional points at my existing home resorts of BLT and AKV, as I would be more than happy to stay at either, the contracts are longer and it will be easier for me to manage my 2 existing resorts, without throwing a 3rd 'home' into the mix.

But I would just like to stay at BCV at least once before my boys get too much older, and wondered whether there is a chance that by buying points at AKV & BLT, I could get my Guide to see if they could get me a reservation at BCV - or will they only be able to help me with my home resort booking?

Anyone have any experience of doing something similar?

Although I have not heard of guide doing this for add-on contract (it is usually the case with initial purchase of DVC membership) that doesn't mean it never happens. It doesn't hurt to ask, you may be pleasantly surprised.

They may be able to get you a non-home resort res if you are within the 7 month window. I don't think they can break the 7 month window and get a reservation early. That would not be fair to the other members.
