Puppy Food

NO CORN
NO BYPRODUCTS
THREE SOURCES OF PROTEIN
TOP THREE INGREDIENTS SHOULD HAVE 2 PROTEIN AND 1 GOOD FILLER at minimum - your main ingredient should not be rice, grain, or corn.
These are the exact reasons I stopped feeding my Dezzie the Eukanuba.

I picked up some Nutro Ultra but it seems like the Natural Balance and the Canidea might be better foods. I might have to check more into them.

Thanks again for all of your help.

We like both Canidae and Wellness. The Wellness is actually made here in Ma, by Old Mother Hubbard. Very good food. No fillers. We also have used the lamb and rice for my golden since he does have allergy issues, so no corn or chicken. He is now on Wellness Venison and doing quite well.

Our 8 mo old Flat Coated Retriever has been on Wellness since bringing her home (and weaning her off of the Purina One the breeder had her on) I can't believe the ingredients in Wellness. She actually eats healthier than the rest of the family!!! We also give her about 1 tablespoon of Iams Puppy (wet food) for flavor.

We did a TON of research on puppy foods b/c FCR's are prone to cancer and we wanted an excellent dog food with lots of antioxidants. It's scary to find out what is *really* in the cheaper brands.

She is definitely the picture of health. Even the breeder is amazed at how beautiful her coat is and how healthy she looks.

Maggie does get table food, but not from begging. The Kongs have saved her life on several occasions. Smush a banana with some peanut butter or frozen blueberries, load a Kong and freeze it. Keeps them busy for a long time!!

We serve Canidae in this home and our boys love it! ::yes::

In case you want to continue with the Diamond product, here is a listing of available places to buy it in your state.

When we got our puppy I had the hardest time trying to switch him from his original food to a new one. His stomach would not tolerate it no matter the process we tried. I ended up locating his brand (solid gold) and he just thrives on it. Good Luck! :)

Has anyone heard of INNOVA by Natura Pet? We are getting a Maltese puppy in 12 days and our local pet store suggested this.

Thanks~Christine

I'm not familiar with that brand. I just went to the website and even though they do list the ingredients, I can't tell what the ingredient order is. I've been using the advice that Aimeedyan offered to help determine quality.

Congrats on your new puppy!

My pup's breeder feeds her adults INNOVA. In our research it seemed like a great brand, just harder to get by us.
