Punch Buggy

hmmmm....I'm wondering if "Slug Bug" and "Punch Buggy" are regional terms. Looks like Slug Bug is in the West and maybe Mid-West. Punch Buggy seems to be from the East and the South. Does that seem to explain it?

(I had never heard of "Punch Buggy" before this thread!)

I think this is it! We have been doing Slug Bug since the 70's around here and i am in the PNW!

From NH originally - always heard punch buggy and not slug bug.

As a side note - the VW Bug is my favorite car ever. So much so, I own my dream car and it's in my garage - a 1975 canary yellow convertible super beetle. It's not just like the car I fell in love with - it's the actual car I fell in love with as a 12 yr old. Through an odd twist of events - it became mine...
