I know I am going to get at least 1 entry up this week... DBF and I are going to Six Flags on Wednesday to try and "cure" me of my rollercoaster phobia. It was also an anniversary gift from me, because he has never been.
My phobia doesn't want to be cured. :faint: Though, I have been debating ToT. I want to do it, I just don't want to plunge to my death! :lmao:

Don't like roller coasters but my darling kids always suck me into going on the Rockin Roller Coaster. :scared1: :scared1:

With all the times we have been to WDW, ToT is still one ride I have never been on and never will.

Yeah, he knows I won't touch TOT with a 10 foot pole. I can handle BTM, but I have never been on Space Mountian... Something about being in the dark.... Freaks me out!

Actually, when I went on ToT, I didn't think it was all that bad. I've been on similar rides with longer drops, and those bothered me more. ToT's randomized drops were shorter and so I handled it better. Though I've read in various places that other people can't do the randomization. Depends on your own body, I guess.

Now that's really trying to overcome your phobia. Those are real coasters at Six Flags. Disney ones are much tamer. (Other than Everest maybe).

TOT is my hands down favorite ride. I could go on it over and over again. Got dragged on a similar ride at a six flags park years ago and fell in love with that moment of fear that runs through you while waiting to drop. I get that plus great themeing at ToT.

My mom, who hates coasters, will go on ToT once per trip. No more than that, but still wants to go on once. And then she screams the entire time while having a death grip on my arm or my dad's. This trip my younger niece is dying to go on it. It's the first year she's been tall enough and can't wait.

I just got awesome news!

My friends who have been in Iraq for the last year are on their way home!!!!

They will be back in a couple of weeks!

I'm here -- now I am going to go back and catch up! :goodvibes

I did see where you are going to stay at the Boardwalk -- I can't wait to hear about that. It's on my "short" wish list of places to stay.

Ok, so I am a coaster phobe. I am not a thrill seeker. That being said, we went to Six Flags yesterday as my gift to DBF for our anniversary. He loves coasters, and had never been there.... I promised to try riding a coaster with him.

We woke up a little late because we watched the Celtics game the night before and all the celebration following the game. We got ready and got out the door and on the way to Agwam around 9:30. We stopped for coffee for DBF and a soda for me and drove for 2 hours to get there.

We went through the front gate and took our first picture of the day with the "My Photo" people, which works like photopass but not as happy.

Not as happy was the order of the day. You will see why later.

So we race over to the Superman rollercoaster, which DBF was really looking forward to. They have a seat in the front to test and see if you have "the appropriate body shape to get on the ride". It turns out he wasn't. He tried and tried to fit and almost made it, but no luck. So we decide to head over to the Batman coaster. On our way we stopped by the Halls of Justice, and had our picture taken with the Justice League (Minus Batman :( )

We went over to the Batman Coaster.... The moment of truth for me. We waited for about 30 minutes and then we got on the coaster, and I realized there was no floor beneath me. And then on our assent to the begining of the ride, the ride stopped.... and we sat there. The longer we sat there, the whiter my knuckles got. Then they came over the loudspeaker and said they were having "Technical difficulties" and we would be on our way soon. By this point I was in a sweat and I wanted off.... The stupid camera was out of memory and the memory needed to be changed. That was our "technical difficulty". So I was very angry and scared but we started and I opened my eyes right at the cork screw and I immediately started to freak out. I can be very quiet, but I was screaming! The ride ended and I bolted...I was far away from the coaster when DBF caught up with me. Needless to say I swore off coasters like that and shook like a leaf for a good 45 minutes.

So then to calm me down we went and rode the Kon tiki and went back to the DC area, did a second swingthrough of the Halls of Justice (No Batman :( ) and went to lunch at Johnny Rockets. The day included Lunch and Dinner so I ordered while he got a table. The person helping me was not happy at all and did not wish to accomedate my enriched white bun for my burger until I asked for a manager. Then she was all set. So I waited for my food and waited until our number was called... and just my meal was on there. So I said that there were two meals there, and the guy sighed and said "Can't you just split?" And I looked at him and I was starting to get :furious:. I said "I paid for two meals, I want 2 meals." And I tried to be nice about it, I really did. And so he took someone elses lunch that had been sitting there since I got up to the counter and put it on my tray.It had been what I ordered but it was sitting there waiting for someone else. I immediately asked for the manager, who told me that that was their practice and to "suck it up". My immediate thought.... "I won't have to suck it up when I am in Disney, because service means more to them than you." Which was muttered when I sucked it up and took our food back to our table and drasticly changed my mood when DBF told me he was having a blast. :thumbsup2

After lunch, we rode the Nightwing and felt like we were flying. It was one of the best rides we went on all day! Then a hop on the Thunderbolt, a coaster with no loop the loops, but was so old even DBF went "that freaked me out." We went walking towards the other end of the park. When we caught notice of the photo place that has you dress up like gangsters and take your pictures. DBF looked at me and told me he totally wanted to do that. So we got our gangster on! I dressed in a flapper dress with a boa and a feather in my hair and a pair of handcuffs dangling on my finger... and DBF was in a pin striped suit with a tommy gun. We chose the last picture where he was giving me a kiss on the cheek. It was so cute, and will be put up here as soon as I get a chance!

Then we went and got a slushie for him and a soda for me. We sat in the shade and people watched for a bit. We talked about how relaxing it was and how we can not wait til Florida... Then we started walking back and we both decided to go on the log flume. DBF bought me a Batman cape.. We went on the teacups and then I headed towards the swings, when the sprinkles began! I had gotten on the ride when it started to rain. They closed down the ride, without me getting the ride in, and we sought shelter from the rain in the Carousel. When we came out, it was just sprinkling, so we got a picture with Taz and Daffy and Peppy le Pew and decided to grab some candy as a reward... They had dark chocolate mini M&M's! We got our candy and looked outside. It was not going to get better, so we picked up our Gangster Picture and went home.

The workers there were not as happy as Disney and the rides were not as fun, except for Nightwing which was on par with Disney fun. Disney caters to all bodytypes and someone like DBF will be able to ride pretty much everything there. We had a good time, but we both said the same thing on the way home....

WE CAN'T WAIT TIL OCTOBER!!!

As much as I love me some Superman coaster action, I despise this park. It really was better as its former "Riverside" self. I don't see a visit here any time in the near future. Or ever again.

If you're ever looking for a non-Disney theme park fix for something more than a day trip, I highly recommend Busch Gardens Williamsburg. We did 2 nights, 3 days there (or maybe 3 nights and 4 days? now I can't remember.)and loved it.

Yeah... It isn't high on my list either....

Bush Gardens Williamsburg, hmmmm? We have expressed interest in visiting Williamsburg next year... maybe I should make this happen!

We had a truly awesome time. We went to Busch Gardens twice, Water Country once and played mini golf at a Pirate's Adventure Golf place. We drove down (left at midnight and were there by about 7:30 a.m.) and it was a really easy drive.

BG was clean, clean, clean and a lot of fun. If BF is a coaster man then he'll LOVE their new coaster The Griffin. It takes the 2nd spot on my favorite coaster list, right behind Millenium Force at Cedar Point. Escape from Pompeii was ok too (it's a water ride). Water Country was...ok. We actually prefer the one in Plymouth, now having been to both. We didn't really do anything in historic Williamsburg other than drive through a bit of it.

I would seriously give it some consideration.
